The food is amazing the Green and Red sauce Bangkok chicken. Is the best. Service was constant and friendly. It's a super cozy corner. With quality ingredients comes with pricey bill. On average 24$ per person.

First review ever but it was so bad I needed to alert people. Genuinely no sauce and 4 pieces of beef on their pad Thai. When I asked for more sauce they wanted to upcharge me. See photo for evidence

Running errands in this part of town is kind of fun because there are several restaurants in the area. Nate and I stopped by Thai Chef recently while waiting "in line" for the Xfinity store next door. This was our first time dining in, and I liked the atmosphere and cozy setting. The employee working was super friendly and helpful. A nice surprise was that they give you a complimentary cup of soup of the day for dine-in customers during lunch hours. The soup we got was a spicy celery soup, which was clean-tasting, comforting, and slightly spicy. For lunch, we ordered the crab wontons, peanut curry noodles with chicken, and drunken noodles with chicken. Our food came out quickly and was super hot! We both got medium spice level, which was perfect. I could've gone one level spicier but it was enjoyable. Both of the dishes were super saucy, saucier than most other Thai restaurants I've been to. Great for me, because I love a saucy dish! I found the drunken noodles to be pretty salty, but still delicious. The chicken was not really my favorite as it tasted reheated. Overall though I did enjoy the dish and it was a generous portion size.

Solid Thai food! They have great soup options, and the soup they start you off with was great! It was citrusy, spicy, and delicious. The rest of the food followed suit. My noodle dish (sorry I can't remember the names) was amazing, it had generous portions of shrimp and chicken. That dish alone was worth a trip back. Old timey feeling decor, but in a nice way that makes you want to relax and stay awhile. The staff was attentive and so nice.

Hidden and tucked away off Beltline and Knapp. I am a Thai food aficionado and let me tell you this is a quick 2nd favourite place with being in actual Thailand. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and it's was good. Nothing to exactly blow my mind but definitely better that others I've had here in Grand Rapids. I also ordered the Peanut Curry Pad Thai and OH MY!!! my tastebuds were having a party. The Flavour was robust and explosive. AMAZING! Definitely ordering this one again. I ordered the Tom Kha soup and it's an 8/10. A little watery so I added some salt and sugar and it really brought the flavor together. This soup is what I sometimes use to measure the quality of a place since they are my go to. In conclusion, food was too yummy to take a picture so I'm sorry. I WILL BE MAKING THIS MY GO TO FOR THAI. I gave it 4/5 stars only because I couldn't do a 4.5/5 cause I really wish they had more desserts SPECIFICALLY sweet mango sticky rice.

This is the front of the restaurant located at 1971 E. Beltline.

About 1pm, I ordered lunch from this establishment. I asked if they had a lunch menu, they said NO, only one size. I spent $29.05 for a beef/shrimp fried rice and crab rangoons. Ok, this will buy two lunches. Well, the portion size of the fried rice was a GRAVE disappointment and a rip off!! It was placed in a take out container, which further speaks to the size. I spoke to staff about the small serving and how I felt cheated she said their rice portions are always 1oz. I said I'd never visit again, and she walked away as to say "I DON'T CARE". Not once did she try to satisfy this customer. I got home to discover the rangoons were over cooked. I understand inflation, but this is robbing your customers. DON'T PATRONIZE this establishment unless you have money to burn, and you're okay with not getting what you paid for!

    3 orders of crispy rolls

WARNING. The Chicken Pad Thai has no sauce. Literally served dry. I called and they said that's how it's served. Noodles, sprouts and chicken. I had to add my own sauce at home. The Crispy rolls were good. The picture is of 3 orders of the rolls.

We don't hand out 5* ratings often, but we really enjoyed our take out meal from Thai Chef recently. Two of us ordered the chicken Pad Thai (mine with a higher level of spice) and one from our group ordered Drunken Noodle. We all thought the meal was very good - especially for take out! My Pad Thai was perfect. The medium spice was spot on with just the right amount of zip. Nailed it. The noodles and bean sprouts were excellent. Everything put together very nicely. We've been hunting for Grand Rapid's best chicken pad thai. We've tried a lot of places. Did we just find it? The person having the drunken noodle gave it a 4.5*. All around we were very happy with the meals. I will definitely recommend Thai Chef when friends ask about Thai restaurants. Well done.

My nearly empty left over container... at 630 in the morning. Couldn't wait!

Call the police! This place . O m g! Cute and elegant clean and sweet as the ppl running the place! The leftovers ,okay? At 645 am Tiny Thai voices screeching from my refrigerator "come and consume". I obeyed. Two words Ginger sausage. Stop what u r doing! I mean for real, this place is fab.u.lous! If u want flavor... baebayyyy! Also had cabbage fried rice w/ chicken , pad Thai so good. Long slender fingers of crab cheese roll... reminiscent of crab Rangoon with more crabby cheese and less 'goon'... child it 'rang ' all the bells! Highly recommend. Not to disappoint! This will satisfy in every way!!

Masamun curry and Thai iced tea, to go!
    Lauren P.

Disclaimer: I've only gotten takeout from here, so far, so can't comment on the dining in experience... BUT. It was so good. I ordered via Doordash, and everything was promptly delivered, and still hot! I had the masamun curry with chicken, which came with a side of rice, and a Thai iced tea. The curry was delicious, with giant chunks of potato, as well as onions, peas, carrots, and cashews. The flavors all blended so well together. The perfect sweet and savory combo. I wish there was a tiny bit more chicken, but that's the only flaw I can think of. There was enough rice for one serving, but the entree container was packed so tightly with food that I'll be eating it again tomorrow! The only downside I can think of--at least from ordering via app--is that I didn't get to pick my spice level, so I'm assuming my dish was mild? But it still had a lot of flavor, and I'm assuming you can pick spice levels if you dine in or order over the phone!

Spicy mee soup! Warm and spicy!

The Kentwood equivalent is this fabulous food court unwrapped into a strip mall, which includes Thai Express. Tidy, well lighted, and beautifully decorated with memories of Thailand, entering is a great first step. The staff are pleasant, and the service was quick and competent. No complaints at all. Things get weird with the food. I wonder if this is a Midwest thing, but everything was sweet. Weirdly sweet The surprise complimentary egg roll comes with a sweet dipping sauce. Not terribly on you unusual. The Tom Kha soup was sweet enough to overshadow the primary ingredient, the coconut milk. This is one of my staples, and this was the first time mostly I got was sweet. It was the highlight of my meal, and I would order it again, but I would steel myself for sweetness. I ordered the Pad Thai because it is the yardstick by which Thai restaurants are measured. A seemingly simple dish with a complex flavor profile. Let's start with the traditional sauce, usually made with tamarind pulp, fish sauce, and palm sugar. Instead, this seemed to have some sort of glucose sauce. No bueno. There also seem to be far less ingredients in this execution, resulting in a plate of noodles, fresh shrimp, ground peanuts, and a couple lime wedges. No sprouts for crunch. Nor anything else to round out a very basic preparation. Despite the award, this did not seem like a very happy interpretation of some really wonderful Thai dishes. I left the restaurant sad, and that's unusual for me. Don't let this be you.

Thai Table is like the best "home cooking" I had back in Thailand. I had their pork satay with real homemade peanut sauce (not canned), onion/cucumber side - perfect balance and satay cooked over REAL charcoal-- not deep fried or grilled. Would be nice to have little toast squares to slurp up the leftover peanut sauce. I ended up using my finger to get it all (it's that good!). My main entree was Nahm Tok -a spicy beef dish native the Northeast of Thailand. It was just like "home". (They offer 5 levels of spice here; I had #3 and it was about right for me.) My partner had Pad Siew with beef. A lot for single serving; probably enough for 2 though. Very tender beef and nicely chewy wide rice noodles stir fried with julienne veggies. Again, perfectly spiced. I really wanted to have their Tom Kha soup, but at $20 for a single serving, I decided to try that next time. If they offered enough for two, for the same price, more people would be able to enjoy it. The quality of the food matched the prices. But it was worth every delicious bite! The Pad Siew and Satay matches or exceeds the style and taste of the best "street food" you could find on Silom Rd. in Bangkok ! Thai Table has been open for about two years and does a lot of takeout in the neighborhood. We are definitely making this place my "go to" for authentic Thai cuisine. Thank you for opening your place in GR! I wish you a long successful operation.
