Probably the best Pad Thai I've had....like ever. I got the level 3 spice which is more than enough kick. This was the first Pad Thai dish where everything (bean sprouts, lime, grounded peanuts) made sense. It's like the noodles were great on their own, but if you wanted to go hard on the plate, all those sides actually complimented the noodles as opposed to other cases where they were the only reason I didn't throw the whole dish out. Bottom line, cute lil place (actually great for a non-romantic dinner). I had heard a lot about this place. Finally got to go and grab some pick up. Ordered Green Curry with Chicken and Pad Wun Sen with Beef. Green Curry was good. Nothing spectacular but whatever. It tasted good with enough spice. Pad Wun Sen. I had never seen this offered a Thai restaurant so I decided to give it a try. It is stir-fried glass noodles with eggs, onion, tomato, napa cabbage, baby corn, and mushroom. Definitely more interesting than the typical Pad Thai or Pad See Ew. The glass noodles were light and felt heavier than your flour/rice-based noodles. Veggies seemed fresh and the beef was seasoned well. I'm so happy they survived the Pandemic and didn't shut down because my family & I wouldn't know what to do then.... we come here at least once every 2 weeks that's how good it is. EVERY SINGLE MENU ITEM is prepared freshly and tastes amazing. The Tom kha soup is amazing! Get the large to share with family. The pad Thai is delicious. All of their curries are heavenly and very well balanced and perfectly seasoned. The Thai hot tea, the Thai iced tea, and their green Thai iced tea are all equally delicious. The appetizers are delicious we've pretty much had em all. The fresh rolls and the egg rolls are good so are the chicken satay. What's even better is they have soda cans for drinks if tea isn't your thing. If you ask me canned soda is 10000000000000x better than fountain drinks. The wait staff are always friendly and polite. The chicken was tender and the pieces were huge. A real bang for your buck! Pineapple Fried Rice w/ Chicken - now originally I wanted pork but they ran out so I settled for chicken. The first time I came here the food was amazing. We ordered 2 dishes and shared. I give 4 stars. The second time we ordered about 8 dishes and got to really taste what Thai Chefs was all about and I gotta say.. it's decent. The food is not consistent, but it's not bad. EGGPLANT TOFU- stir-fried eggplant, and tofu in basil sauce The first time I ordered this dish the eggplants were soft, but very flavorful, the tofu was a bit hard and too dry, and the basil sauce was very savory and tasted amazing with the white rice. The second time, the eggplants were super soggy and the sauce wasn't as flavorful. PAD PRIK KHING- stir-fried beef with thai chili paste, green beans, and bell peppers This dish was recommended to us by our server and he told us the meat was tender, but when we ate it it was pretty tough and chewy. The flavors weren't bold and tasted like any regular stir-fried dish with a hint of seasoning. Nothing special. BASIL FRIED RICE- stir-fried rice with shrimp, basil, bell pepper, onion, and green beans Our server once again recommended this dish when I was choosing between the fried rice selections. He said this was the most popular and I opted to try it. The fried rice was bland and almost flavorless. I was extremely disappointed. I didn't taste any basil in it at all. PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE- fried rice with curry powder, beef, egg, cashew nut, pineapple, and onions This is one of the best dishes I ordered here. This dish was very flavorful and I love that the curry flavor really shined through in this dish. The cashews added some nice crunchy texture and the pineapples were sweet which complemented the savory curry rice. PAD THAI- shrimp and beef, stir-fried rice noodles, mixed with tamarind sauce, egg, onion, bean sprout, and peanuts. The two pad thai dishes were okay. They were not as flavorful as the first time I tried it. I believe it's because the spice level we chose was higher, but that's disappointing because I don't want to lose the flavor just because I want the dish to be spicier. The tamarind sauce made the dish a bit sweet overall and the lime that we squeezed complemented it with a sweet and sour combo. RED CURRY- chicken with bamboo shoots, bell peppers, green beans, basil, coconut milk in red curry This curry was very flavorful. You can really taste the curry and the coconut. The chicken really soaked in the flavors and added a different depth of texture and taste when eaten with the white rice. GARLIC- stir-fried pork with garlic sauce served over fresh cabbage, green onions, and cilantro This dish wasn't bad, but wasn't amazing. I didn't really taste much garlic, but there was some nice flavors there. Eaten with white rice, then it tasted fine because the sauce was very savory and seasoned well. The food here is decent. Their dishes don't really have bold flavors nor does it stand out from Thai restaurants around town, but if I have a Thai craving I would stop by here. With that in mind, the service is super slow. It takes 20-30 mins to get our order. That would be enough time for us to drive farther and still get our food before this place decides to bring out our dishes. It upsets me to give Thai Chefs a below standard rating considering how many good ratings there seems to be but in all honesty when it comes down to it, I must speak the truth of my overall experience. This was actually my second dinner experience here and it was honestly one of the worst dinner experiences that I've had. Reason being, no customer should feel ashamed and guilty for dining at a place for whatever reason; customers should naturally be able to properly enjoy their meals. There was apparently only 1 waitress running the entire place on a FRIDAY night. What restaurant in their right minds thinks that 1 waitress would be enough to cover the entire floor? Evidently, due to the restaurants horrible decision it took us literally 54 minutes (and yes I timed them) to receive half size glasses of regular water, and that's without any lemons in them too. Didn't quite understand why we got half size cups when every other guest had an actual full size cup...anywho, it took 70 minutes to bring out 1 plate of appetizer with 5 skewer sticks of thin strip chicken. Additionally, it took approximately 90 minutes to bring out our entrees. Moreover, we had to physically go up and ask for a pitcher of water so that we could refill our own glass cups because they apparently didn't seem to have the time to serve us properly. However, that's not the worst part. We were seated right in the center of the restaurant and apparently were the only customers eating while every other table was just staring at us eating our meal. And they didn't just get seated; they were seated for probably a good hour or so. Felt so bad for so many of them because some customers didn't even receive their drink orders nor menu even after being seated. You have no idea how many customers were simply just fed up with the terrible service that they just walked out. 2-3 cooks I saw in the book and 1 waitress running a full house floor. She literally had to seat customers, take orders, bring out orders, wipe down tables, complete take-out orders all by herself, and all while putting a smile on her face; she looked like she was ready to break down and cry hearing all the complaints floating around and seeing all the customers walking out. I seriously wanted to hunt down the manager and complain about the place's irresponsible decision to have 1 poor girl basically run the entire store by herself like she did that night. Overall, average thai food but a not so very pleasant dining experience, so not quite worth the buck...at least for Friday night dinner. read more

Thai Chefs is a new Thai restaurant that was just opened for less than a week. Our coupled friends invited my wife and me to a dinner at Thai Chefs; otherwise, we would not have known there is a Thai restaurant in this part of town. We started off with dumplings, and pork Satay. I loved the satay as the pork was very tender and well marinated. The peanut sauce tasted not too sweet to my liking. After the appetizers, we had a spicy seafood soup called Po Tek. The lime-based broth of the Po Tek was very good. For the main course, we had the deep fried fish fillet with curry sauce. I believe it's called Shu-Shi. I wasn't sure what kind of fish they used but the fish was slightly battered and fried, which worked incredibly well with the curry sauce. We also had Pad Thai, which I considered to be one of the very best Pad Thai in Houston. The seasoning of the Pad Thai was just right. The noodles were cooked to perfection. The restaurant is new and clean. We even peeked inside the kitchen and was very happy with what we saw. The chef and the kitchen staff worked very hard to keep the restaurant clean and sanitized. Over all, we all were very happy with our dinner. We probably will come back again very soon. read more

Wow. Just wow. I am now in love with Thai food. I had never been to a Thai restaurant or had Thai food. I have been missing out. This food was so good, it set a standard so hopefully other places won't disappoint me :/ First, I had the cheese rolls that came with a sweet chili sauce. The cream cheese inside was seasoned with something that I really couldn't put my finger on, but reminded me of pimentos. The cheese, inside a crispy skin. Then I had tom yum soup with chicken and the more I ate, the more I liked it. I had it hot on the spicy scale. Hot is a comfortable spicy for me. By the end of the soup my nose was a bit runny but nothing too too spicy. It adds to the flavor. Lastly, I had the yum nuah salad. It has beef and red onions, cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce. It has a lime salad dressing. This was so good, I forced myself to eat it at the end because it was so ridiculously delicious. All in all, I now love Thai food. Thank you Thai Chefs! read more

We dined here on Friday night and we started with the steamed dumplings and my wife had the tom (?) soup made with coconut milk and chicken. The dumplings were like the Japanese shumai dumplings. My wife loved the soup, in my taste of it was delicious with a hint of spice. the dumplings were also properly seasoned and tender pork. Incidentally, you get to order each dish using a "heat" chart depending on your taste buds. I picked the medium, but next time I will probably order the normal hot. The next two levels up were the "Thai hot" and the "Thai extra hot" We had good service, however we later asked the young waiter, Ty about previous complaints about slow service. He could not comment since he has only been there for 3 weeks, All I can say is that I received 5 star service from Ty. As expected from previous reviews, the food took a while to be served , but it was well worth the time. The waiter kept checking in on us and kept our drinks full. We ordered the sauteed eggplant with tofu and the pad thai. Both entrees were freshly made and had fresh ingredients. During the dinner, we realized what made the food taste so delicious which distinguishes this place over other local Thai restaurants. The eggplant was nice and translucent but had the taste of the basil infused sauce rather than and overpowering taste the oil. Similarly, the pad thai had a great taste of a peanut inspired sauce instead of oiled noodles. This is the best pad thai that I have ever eaten. You finish the meal by sharing a scoop of the coconut ice cream. I truly believe this ice cream is home made as advertised. It was creamy and fluffy with small chunks of coconut throughout. Since I am mention the coconut ice cream when I initially ordered, I would not be surprised that it was made while our entrees were cooking. That may be a good tip for others. I highly recommend this place to anybody appreciates a well prepared meal by a chef, rather than a "cook" who just fills the orders and turn tables. We continue to love Thai Chefs- but we experienced some not very excellent service from the two good looking young gentlemen who served us the last couple of visits. Tonight was definitely an off night- first we didn't get our drinks; then, there were some misunderstandings with our order... Which is fine, it does happen- but then, we also waited for the food over 45 minutes. Really? For a Green Curry and a Pad Kee Mao? A bit long. What bugged me most is that the two waiters seemed really unapologetic, when we politely pointed out some of the items. Just a simple "sorry" can go a long way, especially since we are relatively regular at the restaurant. Basically, we felt our business was not valued. Very saddened by it.. I still remember this restaurant having a truly awesome service in the earlier days, before they got busier and more popular. The chefs were smiling, they came sometimes to say hello and asked us "how is the food". Sigh. It pains me to lower my score, but it shows my honest assessment, as experienced foodie: - 5 stars for the chefs (still great taste), but - 1.5 stars for the young handsome servers. I continue to wish Thai Chefs the best of luck. This place pops up on my yelp constantly and bookmarked it to try. Finally got around to it yesterday and wow. Greeted by a lovely lady and was seated promptly. After looking at the menu I decided on the shrimp Tom yum and beef pad see ew. I originally thought I could get away with eating a level 4 spice, but the waitress informed me that their spicy was actually spicy. I took her word for it and ordered a level 3. Thank god I did. Spicy! The dishes had the perfect amount of heat. Soup was so flavorful. Full of fresh shrimp and mushrooms. YUM. Pad see ew was so flavorful. They definitely didn't skimp on the sauce it was cooked in. They use Chinese broccoli which I loved. Ordered the coconut ice cream as well and DEEEELISH! So glad I tried this place out. Aside from the small homely vibe, Thai Chefs' first impression on me was its surprisingly affordable price especially for Thai food with all the entree priced under $10. One tip for ordering: don't overestimate your capacity to handle spicy food - on the scale of 1 to 5 with 2 being mild, Thai Chefs' 3-scale for pad thai is easily a 4 in other places! Excellent news for spicy food lover! Delicious Thai food at respectable spiciness and cheap prices? This is what I have envisioned to be a perfect Thai place! Unfortunately because of its location, Thai Chefs is more of a local boon because it will take quite a drive from any nearby speedway. We got there 45 mins before they closed and were the only ones there. Even though we were the only ones there the food took almost 30 mins to come but when it did it was sooo good! All the food tasted so fresh and had the perfect amount of spices. The portion sizes were big too! Thai Chef is one of the better thai food restaurants I've been to. I visited for a work lunch with 3 co-workers. They had typical lunch specials that Thai places have with a selection of curry or noddle dishes served with soup or salad and a small egg roll. Two of the people I was with ordered curry dishes. Both looked pretty traditional and similar to what I have seen elsewhere. I ordered the Larb and Papaya Salad. The papaya salad was very fresh and crisp with a yummy vinegar citrus flavor. It had a ton of tiny shrimp that I think were previously dried. I had actually never had those before but they were not bad. It gave the flavor that a bit of fish sauce would have achieved but added a little protein. The Larb was fantastic. Great Thai place to try if you are in the neighborhood! read more

Usually Thai places take it easy on me because I look like a little girl, but thankfully this place didn't- and it was gooooood After that though, my boyfriend got his Panang Curry, which he loved- but my food was nowhere to be found! We should have spoken up earlier, but we waited patiently and no one came to check up on us. The place had been filling up, so the servers were quite busy, but he was almost done with his meal before we could get a servers attention for mine. They were nice about it, apologized, and it seemed the chef had completely forgotten to make mine :(. When the pad Thai came out, it was good.
