My boyfriend and I were trying to decide which Thai restaurant to go to for dinner. Thai Eatery has rave reviews so we decided to try it. The food was excellent, service was good, no complaints. The crab Rangoon was excellent. Thai tea was yummy and creamy. I requested nuts on the side and they brought them without issue. He got the drunken noodles and I got the Pad Se Eaw at a level 1. I was surprised at how spicy a level one was, so if you're very sensitive to spicy food beware. We will definitely be back! read more

Stopped for carry out while on a recent visit to Erie after seeing great reviews on Yelp. We selected dinner orders of Pad Thai and Lad Na Seafood and two orders of spring rolls. The spring rolls were mostly crunchy wrapper without much filling. They were accompanied with a sweet sauce. The Chicken Pad Thai was good and portion generous ($11). The noodles were fresh and the spice level 2 was perfect. The chicken was tender and tasty. There was a small line wedge included. I would have liked more peanuts but good in general. The Lad Na Seafood ($13.95) came with drunken noodles and a souplike mixture of seafood, broccoli and carrots but mostly soup. There was not a lot of seafood maybe three small shrimp, two scallops and several dime size calamari. The noodles were good and spice level 3 good. But in general I would not recommend this dish. Thai eatery is hands-down one of my favorite places to eat in Erie. If you're in town and craving Thai food, this is the best place to eat! I have lost track of how many times I have ordered from here. Before the pandemic, I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. The staff here is honest and friendly. My favorite dish is the Pad See Eaw with level 3 spice (level 4 on occasion!) The sauce that the thick noodles come in is savory and flavorful. I also get the regular Pad Thai with tofu level 3 spice and that is just as tasty! You can tell that the owner really cares about his customers. Decent Thai restaurant! There are not many Thai restaurants in the area, therefore this is a nice dinner option if you're looking for something different. It's a small restaurant, probably can seat 50-60 people? Decorated very minimally with mute colors and cute white plates on the wall. Service is fast and you don't need to wait too long for anything. I also noticed that this place is BYOB! We ordered the fried tofu and spring rolls as appetizers, as well as the pad krapow, pad see ew, and ginger shrimp as main entrees. The fried tofu was crispy and soft with no grease; it came with a sweet peanut sauce. Only wish it had some salt added at the end. The spring rolls had very little vegetable in it--it seemed that the wrapper took up almost 70% of the roll. In addition, you only get 2 pieces for the price, therefore I recommend the tofu over these little guys. The pad krapow was great; it has a nice umami flavor with a little bit of heat that isn't as heavy on the stomach as the curry options. In addition, it came with a fried egg that was was super crispy on the bottom--just the way I like it! The pad see ew also had good flavor; it's not as sweet as the pad thai and it comes with broccoli and your choice of meat. I think the noodles were slightly over cooked, however I still enjoyed it. The ginger shrimp came with a light brown sauce and mixed vegetables that mostly consisted of onions and shredded carrots. It's a simple stir fry that does the job. We ordered everything at level 2 spice which I found to be a great level if you're someone that likes a little bit of heat without it overpowering the entire meal. read more

I spent $45 on the nastiest tasteless grossest food ever! How this place has such high ratings is beyond me. I ordered then went to pick it up. I should have know when I pulled up to the place. But when I walked in I wanted to turn around and run out the door. The first thing I saw was a floor dryer for flooded floors. Yuck! Thai Eatery was my very first Thai experience and I will certainly be returning! The dining room is not open so we ordered takeout. The food was ready in the quoted time frame (15 minutes) and it stayed hot until we got home. We like how you can order spice level, I got a 1, my son got a 0, and my husband got a 3. I tasted all of them (all pad thai - 1 shrimp & 2 beef) and I would say the levels are pretty accurate. I have been living in Erie for the past 6 months and this has to be one of my favorite spots! This restaurant has done a great job during the pandemic! They are pretty quick with my orders and pickup is efficient and safe. The only issue I have is you do have to call a couple of times for the call to go through. The staff is very friendly and with so many options on the menu, they are so patient with me when I am ordering. If you are a person who likes flavor and spice this restaurant should be at the top of your list! I recommend their Drunken Mama.. it is a fun twist with great flavors. Travelling through Erie on my wife's birthday we decided to stop for Thai food. We've been underwhelmed on previous establishments in Erie on other trips. Simply, every dish was excellent and Thai Eatery exceed our [big city food snob] expectations. The place was full when we arrived just after 5:00pm. The owner/manager was extremely gracious and worked hard to fit our family of five in and make us feel welcome. There was a mix-up with our order but the manager handled it gracefully and we left marveling at the whole experience. You didn't know it, but you made my wife's birthday special, and the rest of our trip was wonderful as a result. When we left an hour later, it was jam packed with at least a dozen waiting at the door. Advice: get a reservation. No doubt word has escaped that this is the place to be in Erie. I hope they expand to a larger location soon? We'll be back when we travel past Erie again. Thank you again for making our night special. read more

Selected this restaurant after a fun day spent at Erie by using Yelp app. Glad we did! Nice menu selections. I opted for pineapple fried rice with shrimp and my husband opted for a pineapple curry dish. We were both very satisfied with our options. You can chose a heat level between 1 and 5 so I chose 3 and he chose 4 (had to outdo me on heat level, "of course"). I ate every single morsel on my plate -- very flavorful. My husband also ordered a fried spring roll appetizer. That was the tiniest 2 rolls I have EVER seen delivered without apologies and with a straight face. Really? Geez on that part of the meal! Went here for dinner with my family. We ordered three dishes - Red Curry with shrimp, Pad Thai with shrimp, Pad Se Ew with vegetables. The shrimp was $2 dollars more than the regular meat option, which isn't particular worth it. Regardless, the food is fantastic. Everything has a great blend between spicy and sweet the way Thai food should be. The portions are also quite substantial which make the price of $10-12 highly justifiable. A little Thai gem found via suggestion of a friend during my recent venture to Erie. I arrived in town after a long 6 hour drive, and a filling, satisfying dinner was just what I needed at that time, so Thai Eatery was the place I chose. I gorged myself on the Tom Yum Soup (delicious, basic flavor), the Chicken Satay (with the peanut sauce was amazing), and the Red Curry, which blew my expectations out of the water. I yelped this place as I was passing through on my way to Niagara Falls. My experience was an okay so not super sure what was the hype for. It was pretty packed when we visited and the parking lot was very full. We had the Thai iced tea - it was average, 3.5/5 We tried the Crispy Chicken Fried Rice 2/5 - the chicken was not crispy at all and was a bit stale. Felt like it was cooked for a while (not freshly made?) the fried rice was super plain - basically egg fried rice. We were just very underwhelmed. This dish also didn't taste Thai at all - more like Chinese food. It was also very overpriced at ~$15. Will not recommend this dish. Also tried the Drunken Pad Thai with scallops 3.5/5. Basically this was Pad Thai noodles cooked in drunken noodle sauce. I think I still like the normal drunken noodle as I enjoy flat rice noodles more. Noodles overall was flavorful. Scallop was average (but I also wasn't expecting super fresh seafood here). I was okay with my order - but definitely more like an Americanized way of cooking overall. My experience was mediocre. I came here today with a friend and it happened to be their one year anniversary! So happy about this establishment, they really deliver on the flavor when it comes to Thai food. The decor is nice and simple, really creates an inviting environment. When I came here today, I was offered a free complimentary drink (Thai iced tea/Vietnamese coffee) I chose Thai Iced Tea as I enjoy it. It was a surprise, but again it was a special for their one year! It's a pretty sweet drink, with condensed milk. I really enjoyed their tom yum soup, I wish it came with more chicken or mushroom because I had a lot of broth left over. I love the tangy flavor and sweetness, it keeps the soup from being one note. I ordered red curry today, though I have tried their Pad Thai and their Drunken Noodles previously (both of which are delicious). Red curry has a nice coconut base and a decent amount of chicken here, it comes with a side of white rice. I got the 3/5 spicyness level which was not as spicy as I thought it would be (but I can tolerate a decent amount of spice). And to top it off we received a complimentary brownie with ice cream! This place was incredible. Decided to go here while on a cross country road trip because of the yelp reviews and it surpassed all expectations. I ordered a massaman curry but the lovely host said they had a current special on (Khao Soi Chicken) that I might like more so I took a chance and ordered it and I swear down this was the best Thai curry I've ever had in America. Also I couldn't finish my curry so asked for a box and the lovely guy brought me a small box of rice to take with me for free so that I could enjoy the curry more. read more

I didn't have amazing expectations from this little place, but I was really pleasantly surprised. It looks like a hole in the wall from Peach Street but it's quite nice inside. Prices are reasonable. They don't deliver, but takeout's very quick-- my order was ready in under 15 minutes. I'm never adventurous in my first venture to a Thai place so I ordered my standby of tofu pad thai with fried spring rolls, and really enjoyed both. "3/5" heat was definitely a solid medium- just enough to clear your sinuses, not so much to be painful. I've got two more weeks in Erie, and chances are very good that I'll be back! read more

I don't know why, but she gave me an attitude, I never met her and I'm new in town. She was rly short with her words. Ordered two dishes pad Thai and Panang curry. Pad Thai the noodles were cooked just right and the texture of noodles with the sauce was very nice. 4/5 on this dish The curry was slightly watery for my liking and lacked the coconut milk and flavor. 2/5 The white rice was mooshy.. it's over cooked with too much water 1/5 Service 1/5 I saw the server exactly three times, when they sit you, take your order and drop the food off. It's mechanical, they don't smile or have any personality. I wanted a glass of water the whole meal but unfortunately they never came to my table or even look at my table for some water. The guy working there seems to be nicer but he was running around like crazy. I'm in town for business. I came here to eat; I started with, Thai Eatery Salad, the dressing was good! Then I ordered the Tom Yum Seafood Noodles, this was awesome, if you like a little spice on your soup. After all that, I ordered the mango and sweet rice. Not only that the food was delicious, they also have what seemed to be a husband and wife team running this restaurant and they are very friendly and extremely busy during the time I went, I definitely recommend this place and I will be returning here to eat again. It took me a while to find the place because the sign was really small, I had to keep making a U-turn to see where the place was at. Erie seemed desolate of culture 10 years ago and now...not so much. The maker isn't quite flooded but there are now numerous options for branching out past traditional rust belt options. Amoungst the best of thes options in my opinion is the Thai Eatery. Quick, clean, super tasty, authentic, fresh, great flavors, and pretty darn inexpensive! Everything I have had here (been there more than 30 times) is very good to great; but I can't pull myself away from the drunken fried rice! Tons of basil flavor. Warning I love spicey food. Their scale goes from 1-5 and a 4 warrants asking for them to leave the pitcher of water at the table. Three is more than warm. Service is always good. Friday's and Saturday evenings can get a bit packed. Getting in and out of the parking lot can be a bit of a pain. read more
