This review is just for the portion size and price point. We came for an early dinner and got several entrees. Pad woon sen, pad prik pow, and pad ka pow. All 3 entrees looked small as heck. The entrees ranged from 17.99-18.99 for getting chicken and beef, and I was shocked since up in NOVA, dinner prices aren't even that pricey and give us larger portions. At most, entrees are $15ish for noodle/ rice entrees with chicken. Then as we were leaving, I was looking at the entrees of another couple who just received theirs and it look significantly larger. My family and I will not be coming back. They used to be my favorite Thai spot but they are starting to go downhill for me because they keep raising the price point for smaller and smaller portions, and/or inconsistent portion sizes. read more

Updated since my last review. Still just as good. This time I got the pad Thai with pork, spice level 2 and Thai iced tea. The pad Thai was really good! Lots of flavors and freshly made. Spice can vary at time, next time I'll go for a spice level 3. The Thai tea was sweet and refreshing, one of my favorite drinks to have especially on a warm day. Got takeout for lunch and it was going to take an hour before it was ready for pickup. I'd recommend ordering in advance. Thai tea - so so sweet. I had two sips before I decided it was too sugary for me. Pad Kee Mao - I ordered it with vegetables and appreciated the amount it came with. We finished a trip and were craving for spicy and rice. Thai flavor is always so great; nonetheless to say, we were so satisfied when we finished our dinner. The lady is so friendly and she remembers our orders. Most of time, she is the only one serving tables and she is trying her best to make sure no one is waiting for too long. Our favorites are: Curry puff, fish cake, steamed dumplings. Pad Kapaw (so tasty with ground chicken and a fried egg), curry, Thai flavor chicken, drunken noodle, and all curry dishes. It's good! I work in the area and had a real hankering for some quick Pad Thai without driving too far to my normal haunts on a short lunch break. Thankfully I stumbled upon Thai Flavor! When you need quick and yummy Thai, this is your place. I've only done carry out, but my experience every time has been great. Staff is so sweet and the food comes out hot and fresh. After discussion with the owner, they noted that they don't think this is wrong and wouldn't discount the bill. Never coming here again. Once others in the dining room learned of this, they all left. This place is bursting with flavor. Do you want expect it from my little strip mall restaurants, but that is the reality. It is located sideways between a deli and an italian restaurant with the sign not really facing the parking lot. I decided to go here because they actually served you at the restaurant. I came here with my family because the place next door was a 40 minute wait. This place did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was super delicious. For appetizers you NEED to order the crab Rangoon. For my entree I ordered the chicken pad Thai and it was packed with flavor. I don't normally order pad Thai but this was probably one of the best ones I've had. The portion is pretty big so I recommend sharing but I like to have leftover to eat later. This is my favorite place to get pad Thai that I've tried so far. The food is always delicious and fresh and the staff is extremely kind, friendly, and attentive. My usual order is chicken satay and chicken pad Thai little spice. When I eat in I usually get a Shirley temple as well. I can genuinely say this is the best pad Thai in Richmond. I've eaten there and picked it up to eat at home and I have never been disappointed. The portions are generous and the prices aren't bad at all. For seating, the restaurant has a nice modern ambiance. It's a bit small so I enjoy sitting outside when the weather is nice since they have ample outdoor seating along with the indoor seating. Delicious every time. Have never had a bad dish here. All the meat and vege are fresh. Plenty of spice and flavor. We like how every dish is customizable with reactors meat or vege. Not cheap but you get excellent flavor for the price and good amount. Only thing I don't recommend is the Thai iced coffee. Was sort of watery and not as strong as I expected/hoped. The green curry was pretty spicy (level 3 peppers), comes with Thai eggplant, bamboo shoot, and other veggies. Chicken was tender and all other ingredients were fresh. The curries was light and creamy, literally perfect when you soak all the rice into the curry. It's not salty, seasoned just right. The guay thew lord is steamed wide rice noodles entree that comes with sautéed shrimp, ground chicken, squid, fried tofu in a sweet soy sauce. The protein was very juicy, delicate, and flavorful. I approved of the quality. We just wished that the noodles was actually stir fry, because it was a bit on the wetter side to our likings. Overall, pretty nice food and great experience for sure. Ambiance: 3.75/5 - Located in a shopping center where DQ and Mama Cucina are. The interior is spacious, bright, and clean with tables appropriately separated for COVID. There are a plenty of outdoor seating, so grabbing a seat shouldn't be a problem anytime. The volume indoor was not loud at all, lovely spot for catching up with friends or a typical night out. Price: 4.25/5 - The chicken green curry was $13.99 and the Guay Thew Lord was $18.99. My total came up to be around $16 after tax, and my sister's meal came up to be around $21 after tax. Not complaining since the portions are decently sized and amazing people working there. Definitely a mom-and-pop shop. Service: 4.5/5 - I love the lady that works there, reminds me of my grandma. She's so lovely, caring, and super friendly. She's provided recommendations, brought us water, and didn't rush us at all on ordering. My favorite Thai place in Richmond! They moved location and made the place bigger and nicer. It's more modern and classy looking. Everything was as good as it was before. Service is excellent. I think they did raise their prices, but the portions are also bigger. I love getting their Pad Thai, Crispy Chicken Fried Rice, Drunken Noodles, and their curries. We got 5 dishes between 6 people. We had leftovers of half of one dish. I don't like how they put their curry in a plate (kind like a flat bowl), AND they put the rice in the curry. Absolutely love food from this place. Its not your typical Thai joint in terms of looks, they've recently done their interiors with bright colors giving it a chic look. The kitchen is open and you could see that everything is being made fresh. Every time I come here I end up eating the drunken noodles, they are the best. The green curry is equally good, creamy yet Spicy and the fact that they put a lot of "vegetables" (not just broccoli) makes it healthy and delicious. Kids love the crab rangoons here. Both of them were quite flavorful and had a little bit of heat, but minus the straight Serrano pepper (that my fiancee initially ate thinking it was a bell pepper, haha), they weren't incredibly spicy. The drunken noodles were probably my favorite as the breading of the chicken had a tendency to just fall off. The lunch combo came with a spring roll, wonton chips, and a dessert, but honestly none of those were super memorable. The dessert tasted like a Little Debbies Cosmic Brownie. --Cost: I believe the lunch specials and entrees are roughly $15 each, which isn't bad given the reasonably large, tasty portions. --Service: Food came out pretty fast and staff was nice. --Atmosphere: The actual restaurant is relatively small, but didn't feel crowded. --Overall: Although this review is a little short, we enjoyed our lunch. This is one of my favorite Thai Resturant around this area. Upon entering the resturant, all the staffs greeted us with a warm smile. The décor has a unique style and very comfortable atmosphere. The food here is great. They have many classic dishes and it's made well. I recommend the Pad thai and Papaya salad. I like how theres a window to see the chief throwing down in the kitchen. Presentation was decent, but taste was great. The server serves us very quickly. The server surprised us with a cupcake for my mom because it was her birthday.
