Sometimes it gives good advice on all kinds of matters: Tax law, relationships, organic farming, and aerospace engineering. One time it shared a great recipe for homemade apple pie. Don't be afraid to tell it your deepest darkest secrets. If the haunted ATM/robot friend is not reason enough to stop by, it should be noted that the food is excellent. Chicken Bangcock never disappoints and the portion size for all their entrees is a value. Perhaps the finest item on the menu is the Chicken Pad Se Ew with flat noodles and Chinese broccoli. The first time I had it, Unicorns danced around my mouth and giggled. The dude behind the bar is a bad a$$ and makes all kind of dope drinks. I would like it if he wore a velvet cape and cowboy hat while he waits on customers. In fact, the management should consider mandatory cowboy hats for all staff members working dinner service. Ask the barkeep to pour you a triple shot of "tortilla" with a lime wedge and your life will be changed forever- all your wishes will come true and you will no doubt end up in a drunken stupor talking to the broken ATM machine that perpetually sits next to the bar. read more

After a team event in RVA last Thursday, we stopped by Thai Top Ten for dinner on our way back to Nova. My tech lead said this is her go-to Thai restaurant whenever she's in the area, and I was curious to try. The interior has no frills, which is fine with me. As long as the food is good, I don't really care. PAD SEE EW - 16.99 +chicken, wide noodles, and Chinese broccoli This is my go-to basic Thai order if I don't know what else to get. The pad see ew had a good "wok hay" flavor and the sauce was perfectly savory with a bit of sweetness. The wide noodles could have been a bit more chewy (felt like they were a bit overcooked). The entree lacked egg, Chinese, broccoli, and chicken as it was mostly noodles. I felt a bit ripped off. The portion sizes were large so most of us had leftovers for another meal. Super helpful and friendly service. Not super fancy inside but clean. The food was the star of the show. Pad See Ew was my favorite. The server recommended American broccoli and Chinese broccoli. Always go with recommendations. And I loved the beef. Very nicely seasoned. Oh!! And I got medium spice. It was perfect. I usually only eat half. I couldn't stop eating. I ate the whole meal. I are here a few months ago-- had yellow curry and thought it was good. I'd rate it a 4. Tonight I ordered Pad See Ew to go, and I genuinely think they left out a key ingredient. Soy sauce maybe. I ate about a cup full maybe a little less, and threw out the rest. It was Pad See Ewww. I ended up having cereal. I think I have never been so disappointed in a Thai meal. Truly the cook must have been distracted and thought he put in all of the ingredients. I even checked the ticket before I put it in the trash to make sure that Pad See Ew was what was ordered. This is a solid choice for Thai food! They have a large interior with tons of seats. We ordered the appetizer for two which was a great sampler for only $10. I got the pineapple fried rice which was perfect and exactly what I expected. There was one person working in the front of the restaurant and he was great! Wow-this spicy noodle soup hit the spot! American hot was spot on for the spice level I enjoy too. I added lime, jalapeños and basil but the soup broth had just the right amount of green onion, chili, and depth to the flavor. I was impressed by the large amount of chicken in the broth as well as the texture of the thin noodles. The servers were pleasant and good about refilling my water regularly. The space is very casual with several tables and a small bar with seating. If I was local to the area, I would definitely start being a regular here. read more

I'm back in Richmond visiting and I saw this Thai spot near the hotel I love to stay at (shout out to Avid Hotel) in Ashland. Had to try it. Richmond Thai restaurants don't disappoint! The spicy fried rice I got was on point! When I saw the dark fried rice I told my kids this is how it suppose to look! I have yet to see this anywhere in NJ. You can compare the picture to the other Thai restaurant review in NJ. I ordered takeout but the restaurant is a typical casual lunch spot with a bar. There are plenty of places like this in Richmond. Before leaving I lived in the Richmond area for over two decades and places like this make me want to come back. I drove 6 hours today and I'm tired and hungry. I picked up my takeout and checked into my hotel. I opened my meal and discovered no eating utensils! Last week I got chopsticks and a fork. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The food is phenomenal. All of the appetizers are delicious, but my favorite are the money bags and the sun dried beef. I have several favorite entrees too; the pad ped pha as well as the Bangkok dish are out of this world. My husband's favorites are the pad woon sen and the red curry dish. The service is great. The staff is always smiling and truly seem grateful for your patronage. I love that I don't have to ask for more water or another drink when there. The staff is eager to fill water glasses and asks if you'd like more soda/tea before your glass is completely empty. The restaurant is brightly lit, with televisions that can be seen from just about every seat. There are multiple seating options too; the bar, high top tables, and regular tables as well. My only gripe is the metal chairs. If you're stacked in the back, like me, they're not very comfortable. The sides of the chair back dig into my derrière causing me to sit crooked. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura as the appetizer and Red Curry with a Thai hot spicy level for the entree. Both dishes were good. My go-to Thai food when I'm craving. I love that it's right behind my house and I can actually walk there to pick up my food. I've had their food one time before the Pandemic hit, but the service and food is about the same since. I've gone here about 2 more times during the pandemic and they did not let people into the restaurant. They are pretty quick and the food is always on point. My go-to dishes are their dumplings (that's cooked in coconut milk chili sauce) and their drunken noodles with wide/flat noodles. It's honestly AMAZING! The times that I've gone, there were other workers in there that wearing masks and gloves but there was someone working behind the bar that did not wear a mask, but there was someone else in front of me that he was working with. I honestly was in and out really quickly (less than 5 mins) to pick up my food. Food has always been delish and their service is quick. Def a spot for locals! read more

It's a medium sized place with attractive decor. I walked in expecting decent Thai food that I'd probably want to forget about in 45+ minutes. WRONG! The service was shockingly friendly, honest, and accurate. I stuck to my staple selections - Chicken Satay and Pad Thai (w/'American Hot' level spice). The portions were not large but mighty generous. And after enduring years of passable satay, I was pleasantly surprised to really enjoy the perfectly cooked chicken and an amazing dipping sauce that I wanted to eat separately (damn self-control stopped me). The Pad Thai had fantastic but flavorful heat(!?!), the noodles were amazing, and the chicken sublime. The only reason I didn't finish all of it was because I needed to function that evening and not fall into a blissful food coma. I've since been back and good God they've got great food. The Sun Dried Beef appetizer is INCREDIBLE (and I do drink the leftover sriracha sauce, polite society be damned). The Thai Fresh Rolls, amazing. The Kra Pow options are incredible. We stopped in here on the spur of the moment as we were looking for something different for lunch. We couldn't have made a better choice as this will be valid go to restaurant when we are in the area again. The service was fantastic and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Being that it was our first time here we asked for suggestions and the waitress couldn't have been more helpful and not only suggesting what a lot of people like but also what she felt with a few of their specialties. After receiving our food, all I can say, is, she made great recommendations as the food was outstanding. It was just what we were looking for and we were so pleased.
