    Drunken noodle
    Menghai T.

Came here on a weekend and got a drunken noodle with pork ($16) with "American spicy" and it came out in about 15 mins. The noodles were fairly seasoned and it had some spice to it. They actually had a good amount of meat in the dish. I would have preferred it if they had more Thai basil in it. Staff was friendly and the interior was chill. Overall a decent Thai spot, it got the job done. Food(50%): 6.6 Staff/service(25%): 7.0 Value(25%): 7.0 Overall: 6.8/10

A4. Thai Spring Roll. Very fresh
    Lisa O.

Super helpful and friendly service. Not super fancy inside but clean. The food was the star of the show. Pad See Ew was my favorite. The server recommended American broccoli and Chinese broccoli. Always go with recommendations. And I loved the beef. Very nicely seasoned. Oh!! And I got medium spice. It was perfect. I usually only eat half. I couldn't stop eating. I ate the whole meal. The E4-pad kwing was great too. Everything thing was flavorful and fresh. The spring rolls were a good size and filled with beautiful fresh greens. Server brought extra spice to the table . That was wonderful because we used it a couple of times just to try new stuff. We were in vacation but we both said we wished we lived close so we could eat there often

This is a solid choice for Thai food! They have a large interior with tons of seats. We ordered the appetizer for two which was a great sampler for only $10. I got the pineapple fried rice which was perfect and exactly what I expected. There was one person working in the front of the restaurant and he was great! He covered all the tables while also being super nice. Great place to stop by and I'm sure their takeout is great too!

R2. Spicy Fried Rice (no onions and bell peppers)

I'm back in Richmond visiting and I saw this Thai spot near the hotel I love to stay at (shout out to Avid Hotel) in Ashland. Had to try it. Richmond Thai restaurants don't disappoint! The spicy fried rice I got was on point! When I saw the dark fried rice I told my kids this is how it suppose to look! I have yet to see this anywhere in NJ. You can compare the picture to the other Thai restaurant review in NJ. I ordered takeout but the restaurant is a typical casual lunch spot with a bar. There are plenty of places like this in Richmond. Before leaving I lived in the Richmond area for over two decades and places like this make me want to come back. Don't sleep on the Richmond food scene.

    N3 PAD SEE EW

I are here a few months ago-- had yellow curry and thought it was good. I'd rate it a 4. Tonight I ordered Pad See Ew to go, and I genuinely think they left out a key ingredient. Soy sauce maybe. I ate about a cup full maybe a little less, and threw out the rest. It was Pad See Ewww. I ended up having cereal. I think I have never been so disappointed in a Thai meal. Truly the cook must have been distracted and thought he put in all of the ingredients. I even checked the ticket before I put it in the trash to make sure that Pad See Ew was what was ordered. Unfortunate that it was bad because with the cash discount, the pad came to close to $17. So tonight gets a 1. If I average the 4 visit and the 1 visit, I get 2.5, so I round up to 3.

    E17. Pad Ped Pha
    Jake L.

Pad Ped Pha with tofu. Mild-Medium spice. Linda and Alm took care of me and only half a mile down the road from the hotel. Great heat and so many ingredients. Used up nearly all of the rice to soak up the broth at the end. Eat local.

Honorable mention goes to our amazing server (steven) who recommended the Piece of Heaven. We will be back to try the rest of the menu. They also have a fun happy hour daily from 4 to 7 PM with two dollars off signature cocktails, one dollar off draft beers, and a deal on wine as well.

The Thai food here SLAPS! The dining area is fairly small, maybe about 10-12 tables, can see it filling up pretty quickly. Our server was super friendly and attentive (forgot her name) and was so nice to our noisy toddler haha. Food came out at pretty good pace and app, entrees and food didn't all come out at the same time which was nice. You HAVE to get their Thai sausage appetizer - If they made this an entree, I would get it every single time. The sausage is perfectly balanced with lean and fat and packed full of Thai flavor and spices. For my entree I got the Thai fried rice with chicken and this portion is HUGE, was able to take some home and easily serve it as another meal. The fried rice was so tasty and fried chicken was perfectly fried and came with a nice sweet and sour sauce too. My wife loved the pad se ew and got to take home her food as well. If this place was closer to us, it would be not good for our wallets. If you want delicious and authentic Thai food, look no further than Yak Yai!

The staff was probably my favorite part of the visit. Everyone was really nice and helpful, and they actually took the time to help me decide what to order. I went with medium heat, but if you actually like spicy food, you can definitely go hotter. The medium wasn't very spicy to me at all. The sauce they served on the side was really good, though. The portions are HUGE, which makes the prices feel very reasonable. You could easily share one entrée with another person, and I thought it was a nice touch that they give you little plates specifically for sharing. The restaurant itself is small, but really cute. The decor is definitely doing what it's supposed to do. I loved the look and overall vibe, although the tables are pretty close together and the chairs aren't exactly the most comfortable. It's more of a cute, casual spot than somewhere I'd sit for hours. Parking is the usual Shockoe Bottom/downtown situation... so, you know, good luck on parking at certain times. Overall, I thought the food was good and the portions were great, but the staff and the decor were definitely the highlights of my visit. Overall rating: 9/10 Food: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Value: 8/10 Parking: Shockoe Bottom. Enough said.
