    1/2 of the spring rolls

Saturday night delivery! It was so good! We ordered Spring rolls, Dynamite Wings, Pepper Steak, and the Angry Dish. It was way too much food but oh so worth it! First off the food was delivered as hot and fresh as it would be if we ate it there. The spring rolls were crispy and delicious, the wings honestly made the top 3 list, and I picky! The pepper steak was delicious and the vegetables were so fresh! Lastly the angry dish with chicken was perfect! Warning! If you order it spicy it's no joke! Most places it's just warm... this is smoking spicy and I loved every bite!

Came here during Iowa City Jazz Fest on the 4th of July Weekend. Overall pretty solid Thai food and standard service/ambiance. It was my first time trying the Tom Yom soup so the sourness was quite overpowering, with very little meat/vegetable/substance in the soup to keep me satiated. The noodle dishes and potstickers we order were also yummy but not anything mind blowing.

Service is great and the food is decent. I ordered the Tom kha gai, drunken noodles and papaya salad. All of them were good. Ambience is really good. A good date night spot. They were playing a lot of Alina Baraz which I appreciated. Felt like a modern American Thai restaurant.

I only got takeout so I cannot attest for anything within the restaurant but the food was great. I got the Thai style noodle soup which is by far one of my favorite foods that I struggle to find often and I would gladly get it from here again.

My favorite Thai restaurant in the Des Moines metro. Thai flavors has never disappointed me and I can say that I have always thoroughly enjoyed my meals there. My favorites include the Avocado Curry, Pad Thai, yellow curry fried rice, and the General Tao Chicken. The portions are wonderful, the quality is amazing, and the ability to pick up in store quickly is great as well. Would 10/10 recommend.

Pad See-Ew with Chicken with mushrooms. It was very good. Definitely a great noodle dish.

Food is always delicious, fresh, and hot. Appetizers are great. Careful when ordering spicy levels - 2 is a medium spicy 3 it's HOT.

Best Crab Rangoon you'll ever have. They have a great sushi lunch special. The chicken dishes are also very yummy. Local favorite!

Thai flavors is my go-to for Thai take out. Their crab Rangoon's are the best in Des Moines and their Pad Thai is AWESOME.

All day Sunday. Generally make it here every time that I get to town. If you had told me how much time I would have spent in Des Moines twenty years ago, I would have said you are nuts. Rolls range from $6.50 to $10.75 on HH. Had the Cali Roll and Crunchy L.A. tonight. Both great. No cucumber on either. Nothing ruins a good piece of sushi like Cucumber. Glass of Chard for $6.50. Leaving pleasantly full and looking forward to my next visit.

Ok, Blue Sushi might just be my favorite Sushi Restaurant…read more The happy hour menu has lots of great sushi specials, that are affordable. I'm currently obsessed with the Hawaiian roll. It's lightly fried with a delicious mango sauce that compliments it perfectly. I never thought I'd enjoy a mango flavor on a sushi roll but it works. Also, the chicken crunch salad is good although there is a bit of an aftertaste. Not sure what it's from. The service is usually pretty good, food comes out quick and you can usually get waited on pretty quickly. I've been there for lunch mostly though. I like the vibes inside, it's always so clean, with plenty of seating inside and there is even outdoor seating if that's your thing. I am definitely a fan and plan to be back again soon! You have to stop by if you're ever downtown or just looking for a good sushi restaurant in DSM.

With time running out on a Sunday evening, we knew we wanted sushi and Akebono was still open so we decided might as well give it a shot. This was quite possibly the best dining experience I've ever had the opportunity to enjoy. Our server Nick picked up on the date night vibes immediately and knew exactly what to do. Curating the entire meal for us, every single bite he brought to our table was everything we wanted and more, from the tempura shiso leaf hamachi serrano to the torched tuna nigiri as the final bite. One of a kind conversation and etiquette through the entire service, exceptional food produces by the chefs, and the corner table on the patio made for a date night we won't soon forget. Two men assisted us and were so nice. The one guy chatted with us and really made us feel welcome and appreciated. We are from Chicago and found out the owner is as well. The food was fresh and tasty. The portions were very generous. We loved or classic maki rolls and sampled some of their very creative specialty rolls. Wow, every bite was de-lish. I would definitely return.

The neon blue decor and black inside is such a fun ambiance to eat in. We sat in a booth and ordered some crab Rangoon and hot and sour soup. Although the broth was delicious, I'd only give it a 3/5 as it's loaded up with SO MUCH STUFF that there's hardly any broth which is what I wanted in the first place. But the flavor is still really good. The crab Rangoon was 5/5. Always delicious and piping hot and full of flavor. I got the mango lovers sushi roll and let the server pick it out of two options which is good because I was leaning towards that one. It was very refreshing and so much flavor. 4/5. Hubs had the chicken red curry level 4. He toned the spice down for me so I could have some. It still had a good kick to it spice-wise. Chicken was tender and the red curry was delicious!! 5/5. The meal begins with a salad course followed by a pasta course. The cod cake salad was incredibly delicious! Both the gnocchi and the amatriciana were standout pastas. Dessert is family style with an assortment of desserts for the table including a lemon cake and a tres leches cake. The service was great from start to finish including making the reservation (which I highly recommend). We were greeted the moment we walked through the door and quickly shown to our table. Since we were dining early, the venue was quiet for the first half hour or so, but diners kept coming in and by the time we left the place was hopping. It is very cozy and intimate but not so much so that you feel like other diners are on top of you or that you are listening in on their conversations. Side note, it comes very quickly after you order (another plus). I've only had dinner here a few times. The menu is prix fixe with 4 courses (if i remember correctly). All of them delicious.
