We felt like some Thai food today and remembered this place. The place is definitely dated and decor could be upgraded. The service was great they were really nice. The lunch time was slow so there wasn't a wait but they did get a lot of to go orders. I love Thai food, so does me lady and we cook Thai food at home and I will say that we were disappointed. For us the food was okay we definitely had much better it didn't really have the flavors of Thai to me. We ordered Isan Thai for pickup and were really impressed with how well everything was packed. The food traveled beautifully and was still hot and ready to serve when we sat down to eat--despite being 15 minutes away. We tried the Pad Thai with chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice with pork, and the Thai Spring Rolls. Overall, we really enjoyed the flavors. The Pad Thai had a subtle sweetness that was nicely balanced by the peanuts and protein. While I wish we had been given the option to choose a spice level (it was pretty mild), it was still tasty. I also noticed it was a little light on the veggies, which might just be their style of preparation. The Pineapple Fried Rice didn't have as much pineapple flavor as we were hoping for, but it was still enjoyable--just could've used a bit more seasoning and a kick of spice. The Thai Spring Rolls were a highlight: perfectly fried without being greasy, and paired with a delicious sweet dipping sauce. However, $6 for just two rolls felt a bit steep, especially since the Uber Eats photo seemed to show four. We shared a number of dishes. The chicken satay was nice, a bit crunchy and well seasoned. It came with 2 dipping sauces, peanut sauce and another that I couldn't pinpoint. The spring rolls were nice and crunchy too. Well filled with veggies and a spicy dipping sauce. The main dish we shared was Goong Pad Curry. A very colorful dish with plenty of different veggies. Our visit to Isan Thai last night went very well from start to finish. I had checked out the menu and Yelp reviews beforehand and knew what I wanted to eat and what to expect. The restaurant does have a Thai restaurant look and feel with wood and wall hangings. They have two rows of booths and close parking if you can find a spot. For dinner I began with their Tom Yum soup, followed by a stir-fry dish called Pad Pak Ruam Mit. The soup was great with a citrusy flavor. My bowl was not really spicy, that may be something that could be added. My stir-fry, which I got with pork, consisted of fresh chopped veggies with a mild sauce. Isan salad had a nice bite; it was like almost like Korean daikon dish of sort, that I can't remember. Perfect palate cleanser. Also, Sai aour was so great! It was tangy with hint of aromatics, and the bite came later a bit. Kao soi was quite bland and soft noodles were very sticky and over done, crunch noodles ended up being soft from soaking up moisture. Spouse loved his basil stir fry with beef and another family member had the Amazing dish with peanut sauce and veggies - all came with jasmine rice . This place has a nice authentic atmosphere, smells amazing, and we loved all the art/gold statues and highlights. We got the Tom Yum Gai, Tom Kha Gai, chicken satay, and Thai iced tea. The tea and soups were ready in 10 minutes or less after ordering, and the chicken satay was another 5 or less. Our Thai iced teas were delectable, rich and sweet (could've been a little sweeter), The Tom Kha was delicious; aromatic and creamy, with a delicious vinegar kick. The Tom Yum wasn't as good, I wasn't getting much "hot and sour" from it, it was pretty tomatoe-y and had multiple inedible leaves/galangal stalks. The overall tenor is worn, in need of updating with better overall ambience. They managed to lose our reservation but were able to seat our party of three for dinner. We chose this spot for its advertised emphasis on vegan options. The service was perfunctory and the food no better than awful. Each dish was served with tired carrots and other vegetables swimming in sauces which appeared and tasted as if they were trying hard to get rid of yesterday's leftovers. This restaurant happens to be one of my favorite places to go because of the intricately designed seating areas hand carved in a Thai style. The staff are always accommodating, friendly and spot on the food. I Totally enjoy anything and everything from their flavorful and delicious menu and often take others to this restaurant because it's so unique and so much fun. By the way, the thing I love the most there are the fresh rolls with the peanut sauce which taste like peanut butter absolutely delicious. Take your choice just vegetable or shrimp. The coconut soup had such great flavor, and they even ask how spicy we like it! We stopped in on a random google search and Yelp check. The place was VERY clean, nicely decorated and comfortable, and service was FAST and pleasant. Our soup was HOT and tasty (Tom KHA) and my entrée (Pad Pak Ruam Mit w/tofu) was REALLY tasty, fresh vegetables, beautifully cooked tofu (and good product to boot) My wife got an also well crafted meal, but sadly days later I forget what it was exactly. Isan is the best Thai food I've had in Sarasota so far! The amazing sauce is sweet and creamy with the classic peanut flavor we love. I highly recommend the tofu with it to soak up all the sauce in the bottom of the plate. The Pad Thai and drunken noodles are absolutely delicious. For any fried rice lovers out there this place is fantastic. The flavors are exactly what I look for in Thai fried rice with a little more sweetness than the usual and it was full of perfectly cooked beef. I've been feeling a little under the weather and I ordered the stir fried pad Kraprow (basil sauce) with chicken spice level: hot and I already feel better. Burned all the sickness out of me lol. Decided to come to this location due to proximity and the high reviews. I called my order in and when I walked in to pick it up, there was no organization. A few people were standing around waiting while the staff continued to walk past us without any sort of acknowledgment. I walked up to the take-out counter and the man working behind the counter looked at me and continued with whatever he was doing - no acknowledgment whatsoever. After standing there behind ignored for about 5 mins, I contemplated walking out. A woman came up to me eventually and asked if she could help me. Finally, I was able to get my food and go. Just on that experience alone, I probably wouldn't return. The red curry was just okay and I had to conduct a search party to find the shrimp in the container. Given the overall experience, I probably won't return. I know a place on the other side of town with delicious curry, I'd rather drive a few miles out of the way for good food/experience, than return to a bad experience to spend more money. read more

The place is located a few miles south of Siesta Key. They have ample seatings although it looked like a hole in a wall kind of place from outside. They seemed to be knowledgeable about vegans/vegetarians. They have a separate section for vegans in the menu and that is the reason I decided to try this place. We came on Christmas Eve around the lunch time and there were only 1-2 other tables occupied. There was only one person serving the tables. We ordered spring rolls and pine apple fried rice both vegan and my family got some shrimp appetizer and chicken fried rice. The vegan fried rice tasted good (although I couldn't get any vegetables in the fried rice) rest of the dishes didn't impress us. I forgot to take pictures of the fried rice. If I could give zero stars for the customer service I received, I would. I placed a to-go order and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. As a frequent customer who lives nearby, I order takeout regularly. When I arrived, my order was not yet ready, which was understandable. However, I ended up waiting an additional 15 minutes--25 minutes in total. During this time, I was given my Thai tea upon arrival, and by the time my food was finally ready, my drink was empty. When I politely asked for a refill, assuming it wouldn't be an issue given the extended wait, the main server firmly stated, "Thai tea no refill" and walked away. I was taken aback by the rudeness, especially since I had been waiting far longer than originally promised. This experience was extremely disappointing, as I have never had an issue here before. I hope management takes customer service more seriously, as this was unacceptable. read more
