We ordered fried calamari for our app. These were good size ones with panko breading. It was served with sweet chili sauce. Also ordered chicken pad thai. This was a good heaping serving and big enough to share. We had a decent amount of chicken. And it came with pad thai noodles and a good amount of sauce which we like. It was not overly sweet just perfect. This was mixed with small bits of egg and some scallion wish could be a little bit more. Nonetheless we enjoyed our service, food and modern decor at Thai Seed. Extremely clean! We ordered a chicken breast and side of Fried egg rice plus a cup of wonton soup and Drunken noodles w/ chicken. We really liked all of it but the soup was a little light on flavor unless you got a sliver of Ginger w/ your spoonful. Hubby loved the drunken noodles and my chicken breast was very tasty. Big disappointment. I ordered three entrees, two apps, in person and waited for carry out. Thought prices were high, but since restaurant received high marks, thought food must be really good. Wasn't. Portions were pretty skimpy! Dumplings overcooked. Tiny amounts of sauce provided for them and for the very small lettuce rolls. Drunken noodles were all stuck together. Meat dried out and skimpy. Pad Thai presentation very sloppy, maybe teaspoon of peanuts and just the least good Pad Thai ever--didn't taste or look freshly prepared and again, dried out and skimpy meat. Never again. Arrived on date night Tuesday without reservation for dinner about 6:15pm. We were immediately greeted, then seated and served by friendly server. Our beverage selections were immediately filled and brought to our table and we made our appetizer and entree orders quickly. Food was presented in a timely efficient manner and each dish was wonderful. Atmosphere was clean, modern casual and comfortable. Food was wonderfully presented and delicious. While the prices aren't horrible. This place acts more like a "chain" than a family owned business.... "No extra dipping sauce for you." The kitchen closed two minutes ago and won't provide that mango and sticky rice dessert you were really hoping for. My 2nd time there for lunch- both times excellent. I may be able to bump it to 5 stars after I return for dinner. Papaya salad good and appropriately sized. Always happy when I find it on a menu. Chicken/ red curry - " Thai" hot. Both times their red curry was spot on - not too thin, not too coconut milky. Really good. They pleasantly took back my wife's dish to lessen the spice- and she was very happy. The restaurant is clean and pleasant- not gloomy at all. Mid week draws a pretty decent lunch crowd. I had my visit on New Years Eve 2024. I was surprised I could sit outside which I did with my friend. The inside when we were there was packed with happy eating guests. VERY good energy in this place! The visible kitchen, areas around, and outside (including windows) were spotless even at the end of a day. The server was very warm, accommodating and acted more like a guest services manager or a upscale concierge. The food was great, enjoying a chicken Pad Thai version and some great Thai Tea. Seeing how this store interreacted with other customers and even with other stores customers convinced me this was not just another place to eat, but a welcoming place that wants you to have a great experience with great food. Had takeout for 3 on a Thursday. Not impressed, and seems to be low-effort in putting out a half decent product. Pad Thai was dry and tasteless, noodles clumped together and adhered in chunks. Asked for "Thai hot" spice and got a mayonnaise level of spice. Crab rangoon were good, but the pad thai was awful. Hideko 2 (right around the corner) blows this out of the water. Standard casual Thai food with high prices and questionable service practices. We were driving home from Miami and had to stop to charge the car. We decided to try Thai Seed for dinner. I thought the food was fine. Not great, but no worse than any other Thai restaurant I've had in Florida. We ordered: the edamame, the vegetable egg rolls, the fried calamari, the pad see ew, the tod mun (I was happy to see this on the menu as I rarely see it on menus in Tampa, but they weren't particularly good), cucumber salad, and two kids meals. Nothing stood out, but it was all edible. However, the prices were high. I know this is Sarasota, but for those prices, I expect better service. Or bigger portions. Ideally both. Most appetizers were around $10, and the entrees were $20-30. The kid meals were $11. Here were a few issues I had: 1.) if you say "fruit juice" on the menu, you should serve up fruit juice. Not Snapple. If you want to serve Snapple, call it something else like "bottled drink." 2.) The kids menu was tiny and expensive. I asked if my daughter could just have a side of white rice and a fried egg because she doesn't eat much and she didn't want anything from the kids menu. They told me absolutely no, despite the huge order we placed. 3.) They have weird hours. They close at 7:45PM, which is a weird time to close dinner service. I get if they don't want to seat people after 7:45PM, but it's weird to close up the kitchen to people already in the restaurant. (This didn't happen to us, but it did happen to the next table.) read more

Thai Seed was surprising good. The food is cooked to order and comes out hot. Staff is friendly and speak clear English. They are helpful if you are unfamiliar with their Thai food and the options. The crispy chicken is on their house recommended dishes and it did not disappoint. It was large enough to share for 2. The pan fried dumplings were 6 and tasty. Not soggy, nor drenched in oil. Only negative, the fried rice is actually just jasmine rice with a fried egg and a tiny bit of soy sauce. Not worth it. Stick with the Jasmine rice, which was the perfect consistency to eat with chopsticks. Full bar with limited selection of sake. Definitely, we will be back. Prices are compatible to anything in the UTC area with high retail space fees. read more

This is what I would call a high-end Thai food restaurant! What I mean by that is there's plenty of places that you could go that are cheaper, but you are not gonna get this type of quality of food! My husband and I took our girlfriend who had never been to Thai food and she ordered the orange chicken which is not your typically breaded chicken. It had nice fresh veggies and very tender chicken!!! my husband had the teriyaki chicken, which also is not breaded. It had beautifully cooked veggies not mushy and I had to have my go to which was drunken noodles!! The noodles were very good. The sauce was a little bit sweeter than what I'm used to, but if I lived in the area, it would definitely be a go to place for me!!!! my girlfriend never who never hadhad Thai food thought thought it was really yummy.!!!! The few outdoor tables were reserved so we sat inside, where the AC was colder than the beautiful outdoor weather. Our server was very sweet. Thom Kha soup: 3.5 Like our server, very sweet, but no spice, no galangal. Pretty good, but I probably wouldn't order again. Panang Curry Chicken: 4.4 Different than what I'm used to but very good. I'd order again. Drunken Noodles: 4.3 Again, different, but very good. It was supposed to be pork but they brought me chicken. I'd order again. Cashew chicken stir fry: 4.0 They forgot the cashews. lol. It tasted like black pepper stir fry so it was pretty good but a little boring. I wouldn't get it again. Cabernet wine: 2.0 not good Malbec: 2.0 not good Pinot grigio: 2.8 Better than the others. Suggestion: Add a few decent bottles instead of just lackluster generic "by the glass" selections.
