Every time I visit from out of town, I usually end up getting dinner from this place. As of COVID, they're taking good measures to be safe and are still providing a level of friendly service that I haven't seen at any other place. It might be hard to call in--but that's because they're in high demand! So keep trying, it's worth the wait. This last visit I got cream cheese wontons--perfectly done. Light, fluffy, and crunchy with just enough cream cheese to be rich and flavorful without being a giant pile of mush. I also got the Pra Ram chicken--a peanut-centric sauce, which was delicious and what I assume to be fairly authentic to Thai-cuisine. I'm no expert, but my taste buds enjoyed it regardless. And this place gave me plenty of vegetables to go with my chicken, so it was actually a healthier meal than a typical "takeout" place. read more

Since relocating to Northern Michigan, we have not been able to find good thai food. This changed when we came to visit the UP, and stumbled upon Thai House! I had the Thai House Curry, which was very similar to Panang Curry (one of my ultimate favorites). I can usually handle moderate spice, but after seeing reviews, I opted to go mild-moderate. The spice level was perfect! Just the touch of heat without making my eyes water. My husband had the house special, Honey Duck, and he said it was fantastic and cooked perfectly. For those looking for authentic Pad Thai, they did say theirs is quite different from what we traditionally think of as Pad Thai- which is why my husband and I opted to go with something different. Pretty good Thai food. We decided on this place since the other place sounded shady and didn't take credit cards. The staff was friendly and the service was good. They have a fair bit of vegetarian options available, so that was good. I ordered their cashew nut curry with tofu and ordered it 3-star (out of 5) for spice and was a little disappointed in the spice. It wasn't that spicy or flavorful at all. I had to ask for extra spices/sauces to add on top so I could add some flavor to my dish. My husband ordered the golden noodle with tofu and he said it was pretty good, but also lacked some spice. Do not order lunch online. I was overcharged. Paid the dinner price $15 and received a lunch portion which costs $8.25. The restaurant refused to refund me. Came up to Marquette with some friends who are really into Thai food. They searched all over Google for the best reviews and decided this was our place. We were enthusiastically greeted and taken to our seats. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped us navigate the menu. She also had fun jokes about the spiciness of the food. If we checked in on Facebook and made the post public we got free egg rolls. They were very good, worth the check in. We ordered the combo platter for the table to share- everything was tasty. I got the teriyaki chicken; ordered it with no spice so it was sweet. Hubby ordered a noodle dish and the server talked him out of it; he ended up with a soup that was pretty spicy. I don't know if he realized it would be so spicy. The rest of the group got the drunken noodles with beef, fried rice, and red curry with tofu. Everyone really enjoyed their food, almost everyone joined the clean plate club. I ordered a Mai Tai for my drink and it came with 5 gummy bears. Such a fun idea, but make sure you eat them quickly otherwise the freeze on the rocks! Had lunch there today. Got the veggie red curry. Veggies consisted of 2 very small pieces of broccoli, 3 chunks of black eggplant, 1/2 cup of very weird thinly sliced carrots, some cabbage about 2 bites, and 3/4 cup of bamboo shoots which about half of those were unchewable shoe leather. I asked if the bamboo could be traded for mushrooms. Yes but for a dollar. Now where I am from, this is never a problem, if you remove an item they fill in the gap with more of what is in the dish, or give you other stuff. Not here. But who wants more bamboo shoots you can't chew? The flavor of seasoning was spot on. Soup went uneaten. Place was clean. Wait staff was nice and friendly. Not worth the price. I was torn between trying this Thai place or another, but didn't want to bother with having to get cash. Luckily Thai House accepts credit cards. I was also thrilled to see I could place my order online and get 10% off (hey, it's something! The only downside, though, is that you have to register online to do so..). I ordered the Salad Roll ($4.25) and the Spicy Sweet Basil Duck ($13) because I LOOOOVE duck! Pick-up was quick despite the fact that they had to re-run my credit card. My order was packed very carefully - the Rolls were wrapped in cellophane so as to prevent the two from sticking together, and the bottom of the container holding the Duck had foil lining the bottom. It was turned up around the edges to prevent the sauce/broth from running all over the place. Very thoughtful since I may otherwise have had a saucy leak on my hands! The Salad Roll was pretty bland - it didn't seem like it had any seasoning, even in the tofu - so the peanut sauce was a must! The Duck (not spicy, by the way) was good - it was saucy/brothy with fresh onions, fresh red peppers, canned mushrooms, ginger (???), and a basil leaf or two. Canned mushrooms = slimy and tasteless, so mehhh.. The duck itself had an odd texture; I'm not sure how they cooked it. It almost seemed like it was coated (cornstarch?) and fried in oil. It didn't taste very juicy or meaty as fresh duck does. Needless to say I didn't get the mouthgasm I was hoping for. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things? I really wanted to like this food. We had high expectations due to all the great reviews. I'm from St. Paul, MN where we have a LOT of authentic Thai restaurants. We ordered 4 dishes, two of which hit really flat. If you love Pad Thai, this may not be the place to order it. It tasted like rice noodles with sweet and sour sauce which I'm pretty sure is exactly what it was. I really missed that fish sauce umami flavor. Sweet and Sour noodles is not my thing. My dad ordered the Chicken with Peanut Sauce which was seriously lacking in flavor. My mom ordered the Sweet and Sour Meatballs that she thought was alright and my son ordered the Pad See Ew which he enjoyed. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I will say that the staff was incredibly kind and obviously it wasn't all bad but it was mostly pretty flavorless. For $80+ I was just hoping for incredibly tasty food. read more

After driving around the UP, it was wonderful to be in Marquette and to see restaurant choices. For that matter, it was nice to see people again. It was an oasis in the UP from basic little diners or frequent Subways. To find a real ethnic restaurant was a sight for sore eyes. The salad roll was deliciously fresh with the right ratio of herbs, veggies, and tofu. The plum sauce varies from place to place and was happy to find that this one was tangy with a little unexpected heat to make you look forward to the next bite. The Basil Squid in Thai Chili was pretty good. The squid was cooked well, soft and tender. I'm glad it wasn't over cooked transforming them into rubber bands. It was served in the typical brown Thai sauce that is always very tasty. Something different from other paces is their spicy tray they provide. It had the typical chili paste to make it nice and spicy. It also had jalapenos, which I'm not exactly sure what you would put them on, dried chili paste, and soy sauce. read more

We were passing through town and found this place on Yelp. We were leaving a hiking trailhead and called to place the lunch order. The woman I spoke with was VERY friendly and fun, calling me "girl" and "hot lady" when selecting my spice level (these were not said in derogatory ways) and not just the normal straight forward typical way of taking a phone order. She said it would be ready in 10-15 minutes, which is how long it was going to take to drive there, and it was ready right away at less than 10 minutes. In the times of COVID, you call when you get there and they will bring out your order to your car. They have numbered spots and banners with their phone number in front of every spot. You can give your credit card number over the phone or pay with cash. Even despite the cold of winter, she stopped to wish well wishes and health and safety and bowed. The friendly staff is enough to go back. The food was also good: "I Love Veggies" lunch with tofu and Golden Noodles lunch with tofu. You can choose spicy level of 0 to 5. 3 and 4 were just barely spicy and not overbearing. read more

- decent service: the only reason this place didn't get a one star, is that one of the servers (who looked liked a teenager) had a lovely attitude - terrible food: the pad Thai was the worst I've ever had...the coloring is so artificial(had this weird pink hue), I also got the chicken, and it had a rotten smell to it (probably because it's not fresh) - forced purchase: we ordered a small Tom Yum food, with seafood. However, we were told only a large size is available if we want that combination (which does not make sense, a small size is only a portion of the large size) - if the price is good, the the ratings would be higher. But for such terrible quality food, the price is ridiculously high ($20 for drunken noodle with half fried (probably just recently-defrosted) duck meat Definitely not recommend. read more

It's probably the worst Thai restaurant I have ever tried. I ordered pad Thai which is a pretty standard (no fuss) dish. But they offered a plate of sweet red mess. It's literally like noodle covered with sugar and ketchup. My spicy level is 5 but honestly I don't taste any spicy instead of sweet. I talked to a Thai woman in restaurants and she said it's just one of local style in Thai food. I have been to Thailand, and also tried countless Thai restaurants in US. This dish is just beyond my imagination! The second noodle dish is drunken noodles my friend ordered. It's also a standard Thai dish. In description they have basil in ingredients, but didn't see any basil leaves in plate. It's also heavily salty, can't even swallow. The third dish we had is cashew curry, also very very salty. Only dish which is editable because it goes with white rice. But my friend says it's not authenticate at all. The price is average, so lucky I didn't spend a $20 cash on duck dish, guess it would be a waste. Honestly if you have any idea on Thai food, don't try this one. My husband's and my first meal in Marquette! Solid 3 stars. Let me start by saying I LOVE the decor of this place. Nothing's fancy, but it gives off a welcoming and super cozy vibe. The light fixtures are in the shape of Bhodi trees (google for more images), there's a sign that teaches customers how to say "hello" in Thai, just little cute things here and there! We got seated instantly as we were the 2nd party in the whole place, our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. We opted for the Tom Kha Gai soup to warm us up (it was single digit weather at the time, brrrr!). I went for my safe choice, which is Pad See Ew with beef, and the hubs ordered house curry with shrimp. For me, the food is a bit over seasoned, including the soup. And it was quite pricey for how much food we got, which I was really disappointed about...not trying to compare, but I don't even pay that much for Thai food in Chicago, so...just a tad bit surprised...Will I ever come back? The food was awful! My husband ordered orange chicken and I ordered Pad Thai. Both were awful and inedible. We fed a $40 meal to the seagulls. Orange chicken was in some sort of tomato sauce mixed with over cooked broccoli. There was nothing orange about it. My Pad Thai was floating in the same strange red sauce as my husbands orange chicken. They got a new cook! Hooray! Totally delicious and awesome once again! --- I love the Thai House! I've had most of the items on the menu that can be "veganized" and I've really only been disappointed in the Pra Ram, mostly because the online menu says it comes with spinach, but I got giant chunks of hard white cabbage. The tofu is awesome. We usually get the Asparagus stirfry (#39) and the Sweet Basil one (#33) and they are always awesome. The spice level is somewhat arbitrary. Sometimes a "3" is barely hot, othertimes it's sweat-inducing. Either way, it's all delicious! -- okay, so i have to change my rating because the last couple of times that i have ordered (takeout) from here, the food has been of waaaay poorer quality. the "garlic lover" was barely garlicky, the asparagus stir-fry was almost totally lacking asparagus and cashews (the best parts!) the rice has been cold (somewhat excusable), the tapioca balls in the bubble teas have been frozen (gross!)... the spiciness/saltiness is nowhere to be found, and last night when i got my food, it was barely warm. i actually had to put it all together and add a little bragg's and some chili flakes and then microwave it because it was just that bad. the best part of the meal, the fried tofu, has also been totally different. it pains me to admit this, but i can make a disappointing thai meal at home (with organic stuff from the coop) for way less than the $30 i end up spending to feed the two of us at the thai house. read more

Super quick service! The staff was also super friendly. We were there on a Sunday midafternoon and they had a pretty full place. The food was yummy. You can pick your spice/heat level. My wife had the pad thai with chicken at a level 3, the flavor was great. I had the Kung Pao at a level 4. It was hot but not overly spicy. Of the two (current) Thai restaurants in Marquette, Thai House is the clear winner in terms of food quality, flavor, presentation, and service. My wife and I have eaten there a number of times, and enjoyed the Pra Ram, Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, and Drunken Noodle. If you want it hot, they can do it for you - if you want it mild, they will hold back. It all tastes fresh, and the plates come out looking clean and well prepared. My only issue comes with the fact that they claim to be aware of gluten sensitivities. As someone with a rather serious reaction to that particular protein, I've been served dishes that I *know* (believe me, you don't want these details) that there was some sort of mixup. This Pad Thai is smothered covered in some bottled sweet n sour sauce that is just awful. Worst pad Thai ever. Then, to top it off, I asked for forks & napkins, & was told they're in the bag & napkins are in the silverware packs.
