They've got plenty more vegan and vegetarian-friendly options on the menu too, which makes it easy to come back and try something new. And the staff? Super friendly and actually knowledgeable about what can be made vegan, which always makes the experience even better. I do wish that they could improve on their vegan curry. I am a big fan of Thai food and for some reason I had never tried the Thai House in downtown Mount Vernon, they made a fan out of me! We arrived right before the dinner rush and got our orders in quick. We had a Thai Iced Tea that was very good, easily the best I've had. Our server, Kaley, was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, 3 stars, I like spicy and I think I would order 4 stars next time, but my dinner was outstanding. My friend ordered the Golden Garlic Seafood dish and it was also excellent. I like the atmosphere at the Thai House, although the kitchen is a bit noisy, which I actually find interesting since I used to be a line cook. We were in town to see the tulips and stopped in for dinner. Service was pleasant and helpful, our booth cozy. This Thai place is 10/10 , decided to stop here right off I-5 , parking is kinda hard but worth it. The Tom Yum noodle soup is not your typical Tom yum which is what I thought I was getting but still was amazing ( order their other Tom YUM for just that ) we did to go and the portions were generous. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering. Our waitress provided additional information to help make informed meal decisions. She was attentive without being annoying and carried on friendly conversation when appropriate. The restaurant appears to be well maintained, clean, and offers a relaxing atmosphere. I decided to venture away from my normal Thai food preference of spicy noodles, tried Spicy Eggplant. 4 star Spicy Eggplant made my mouth happy, my nose a little runny, and my stomach full. We'll seasoned with a reasonable size portion and good presentation; did not include rice or noodles. The restaurant remained busy throughout our dining experience. Only two other tables were occupied, but the waitress was continuously filling takeout orders. Thai House appears to be following phase two social recommendations. This used to be one of my favorite places for Thai food. The "Happy Family" dish recently ordered was not a happy experience. The mixture of seafood was either overcooked, and hard to find due to minute portions. My companion' s selection was drowning in peanut sauce. The appetizer platter had calamari rings while tasty, were cold and soggy. We had no complaints with the service but were disappointed in the quality of the food. What a nice surprise! I come to Mt Vernon to visit family, I have learned that this little town has some great place to eat but did not expect a good Thai restaurant in downtown Mt Vernon. Though the downtown MT Vernon has potential to be a cute place most of the stores are empty, that's why it's a surprise to find such a great place. We ordered Chicken satay, came with a really tasty cucumber salad and peanut sauce, phad see yew noddles, green curry with tofu, and golden garlic. Everything was very tasty. We've come here off and on over the years. Usually during off peak hours. It's definitely a mixed bag. One time we came by for dinner. They are supposed to open at 4:00. We peaked in the window and saw the owner at one of the tables checking his emails. He looked up at us and then continued to check his phone. We went for a walk and came back and the doors still weren't open. The last time we came by, the wait staff was very kind, and everything was great until they started getting busy.
