Delicious food, comfortable atmosphere and great service! Was a gem for us to find this place while on vacation.

We ordered Mama Wings food for our Thanksgiving meal. I called ahead to ask questions since some of our guests are gluten free. Mama Wing worked with us to make a menu that worked for our whole family, and she was so delightful every time I spoke with her. I would recommend Mama Wings Kitchen to anyone who enjoys Chinese food! We tried many of the dishes and appetizers, and everything was outstanding! Mama wing went above, and beyond to provide a memorable experience for us, and our guests. Our menu included, orange chicken, gluten-free orange chicken, chow mein, fried rice, chop Suey, Mongolian beef, general TSO chicken, hot and sour soup, Xiao Ling Bao, and another dumpling I'm not remembering currently. This is a such a cute place, and had a great atmosphere. The service was good other than getting their attention. There was very few waiters that were working that night making it harder to get the waiters attention. The food on the other hand was good and bad. I ordered the xiao long bao and it was very good. The flavor was on pointe, but the dough felt a little under cooked at the bottom. We had also ordered the potstickers which were amazing. I had ordered the mushu pork. It was good, I had never had it before. The flavor was there, and adding the sauces made it much better. My friend had ordered the mama chicken lollipops. I think she was expecting something else and wasn't satisfied with the quality. She and asked if she could get it taken off the bill as she didn't eat any. I would love to go back and see what recommendations the restaurant has because we didn't know what to order. read more

We had shumai, spicy dumplings, soup dumplings and crab rangoons to start. Then shared Mongolian beef, general Tsos, crispy garlic calamari and some house fried rice! I don't know how to begin. It was delicious; everything we had was outstanding. things that I would recommend to anybody would be the mama wings with the fried rice and certainly the house lo mein. The dim sum was outstanding and it's so hard to find good dim sum outside of Bellevue or going down to Renton or further, so it was a thrill to find great dim sum here. i guess what I want to call out that is that while we hope for good food, wonderful service can feel challenging. Every Chinese food restaurant I go to, I judge by Mongolian Beef. Ordered that and potstickers on my visit. Both were quite good and the Mongolian beef was as it should - beef, onions (green/white) and the crispy noodles. Mama Wing's staff was interesting. Wing (the owner) was quite abrupt in calling staff to the back when she needed them for something. It's not often you hear a name called out from back to front of restaurant. Their food is amazingly good, best dim sum you can get around the area hands down. And the best part is, their dim sum is served all day. I've been here on two separate occasions and service is always expedient. The restaurant is relatively small but scratches that itch for me when it comes to Chinese restaurant vibes. I often get cravings for certain Chinese foods. Unfortunately, none of the restaurants in Bellingham offer them. Then I heard about Mama Wings Kitchen. They've been around for years. I can't believe I missed them in my multiple searches. I walked into a small, but very comfortable, clean restaurant. The smiling waiter invited us to sit where we pleased. After skimming over the menu, I discovered they indeed, had the dishes I had been searching for. I was so excited! I was with a friend, but ordered enough food for 4 people. I think the waiter was a bit surprised (and amused) by my joyful extravagance. The food was everything I had hoped for. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but absolutely satisfying. Here is a list: roast duck, har gau, shu mai, BBQ pork buns, green beans and chicken lollipops. As several reviews have stated, the chicken lollipops were pretty fantastic. I had never had them before, but will certainly order them again. In fact, I would order everything again. In fact, if I wasn't so lazy I would drive over there right now and order everything again!! My husband and I stopped here with some friends while visiting them in Anacortes. We've been here a few times and absolutely love the delicious food and fast service. With that being said, we watched and overheard the owner (I believe she is the owner) loudly reprimanding what appears to be a new server and it was one of the most uncomfortable unprofessional things I have ever witnessed. A good employer pulls employees aside and quietly explains things. They don't yell and speak in an aggressive tone for a restaurant full of patrons to hear. I hope the owner sees this review and changes the way she handles her communication with her employees. Tl;dr: small town vibe with big town flavor! Wow, I'm pleasantly surprised to find a great Chinese restaurant in a small town! At first I expected typical American Chinese food, but some of the dim sum dishes proved to be more authentic than that. Chicken lollipop is the bomb, agree with other reviewers. Everything we had here was fantastic. Only complaint is spicy noodles were not spicy at all (though i get it, pacific northwestern flavors are so muted!) - but they have a jar of spicy sauce on the table that you can go to town with. The decor and atmosphere are spot on, bathroom spotless clean. Friendly and helpful employees. We saw a couple locals who came in to dine, and it was very sweet to see the chit chat and friendly hugs. I look forward to coming back soon to try their steamed fish dishes! read more

They have legit Hum Bao, they are called bbq pork steamed buns on her menu. These are excellent. Harbor City BBQ in Seattle is closing and they were the only place around that I liked their Dim Sum, so now, here in Anacortes, this is the place I recommend most for these. read more

This was our first time at Mama Wings and I was thoroughly impressed. We had the starter platter with egg roll, potstickers and cheese wonton. They were cooked to perfection - the egg rolls were the best I have ever had. We also had house fried rice, beef lo mein and the Shanghai noodles. They were all outstanding! Plenty of meat and vegetables with just the right amount of spice. It has been hard to find good Chinese food in the area, but we have now found the perfect place. Look forward to our next visit! This place is amazing for a small town! Service is good and food is great! Dim Sum menu has good variety of the items to choose from. Xiao Long Bao was a bit on the drier side but still good! First time ordering at Mama wing I've heard so much about it. It's my birthday on New Year's Eve and I decided to have Chinese food. We ordered half an order of the Peking duck with the delicious buns the house fried rice that was so delicious with shrimp, beef and chicken. We had the chicken lo mein noodles and the wonton soup. Mama Wing even gave me a beautiful slice of lemon cake for my birthday. Food was delicious!! Duck was sooooo yummy also with those little buns and sauce. I can't wait to go back and try more things. What the WHAT?! These wings, or... chicken pops as they're called, are SOOOO GOOD! The breading is really really well done and has a lot of flavor and the perfect crispy and crunch. The two sauces it comes with are also super yummy! One is a duck style sweet and sour and the other ... can't put my thumb on it but I can def say it pairs perfectly. My husband and I loved both sauces, I would have taken the leftover sauces home if we hadn't had a few more stops before going home. $12 for six pretty big pops, I'd say that's a darn good deal, also bc id consider them wings to the next level. Me and my husband crushed these, he had 4 and I had 2. I was perfectly satisfied with 2 and he was actually full from the 4 he had, which was perfect bc we were planning on early dinner in an hour or so. Service is excellent! Food came out quick! And the service is sooo friendly and attentive! Small restaurant with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The staff was very friendly even though one waitress was on speaker phone the entire 15 minutes we waited for our to go order. She sat at the counter area, spoke Cantonese loudly without any concern for us. We ordered kung pao chicken, beef chow fun and baked bbq buns. The food was average Chinese food. The chow fun glistened in thick oil with little flavor, no ginger and little scallions. My husband who orders kung pao at every chinese restaurant for the past few decades said this one was the worst he had ever tasted in his life. I tried a bite and could tell that the chicken didnt taste fresh and lacked flavor. The buns seem freshly baked but the filling was scant and tasted sickly. I couldn't identify any meat in the filling as it had small bits of unidentifiable ingredients. The bill was about $40 without tip. To sum it up, we had high hopes and were terribly disappointed. We will not revisit it again but hope others will have a better experience. read more
