We were driving to Salt Lake City and decided to stop in Pocatello for dinner. This restaurant showed up as a four-star (which should be better-than-average) Thai restaurant. For the life of me, I have no idea why. The only thing that was better than average, but only barely, was the red curry. It was good. Not enough chicken or vegetables in it, but it was good. The fried rice was average. The pot stickers were barely OK--not particularly tasty. Thai iced coffee was decent but not spectacular. The worst was the pad Thai. One would hope that a Thai restaurant would get this right. This has to be some of the worst pad Thai I've ever had. Here's how I'd describe it. Have you ever had or seen canned Chef Boyardee spaghetti? You know how it comes out and the noodles are just swimming in sauce... and not a good sauce, it's a sickly-sweet red sauce that doesn't resemble anything like spaghetti sauce? This pad Thai reminded me EXACTLY of that. This is not a good thing. Bottom line is this is not a four-star Thai restaurant. If I was being nice, I'd give it three stars, but way too many people have apparently been nice, so I have to only give it two. As the hint next to the two-star rating says... Meh. Remarkably good Thai food. Nice inside. The Cream Cheese Wontons were next-level. The tasty curry samosa are made with flaky pastry. All made fresh, I could tell. Ohmigod the Tom Kha soup - truly amazing depth of flavor. Not just coconut milk - way more complex. I'm delighted. This little spot has better food than all 4 Thai restaurants in my home city. Average. That's the best I can do on this one. I was in the mood for a vegetable dish so I went with broccoli chicken. The carrots had a couple bad spots but the broccoli was decent. OMG Thai Kitchen was horrible, the tofu was like chewing on a sponge I asked for low heat and its burning my mouth off, its greasy and a spider on the wall made it hard to eat. If you are concerned about coronavirus precautions and physical distancing, this is not the place for you. Employees managing the front desk had no gloves, no masks, and were in close proximity to each others with no hand sanitizer in sight. I waited for my food inside for a short while and watched in shock at the contact between the front desk employees and the food containers and rice being handled. I have supported this restaurant for years, but highly recommend they use CDC recommendations for operating in light of coronavirus. read more

Who's paying these people for the five star reviews? I waited ten minutes to be seated and was ignored by the two young ladies behind the counter. And while I was waiting a customer walked up to them to say that his party had been waiting fifteen minutes and hadn't received their water yet. Another customer walked to the counter to ask how much longer before the food came. Bad omens so I left. The atmosphere was horrible anyway - bright lights and cramped dining area. Overpriced and subpar. Got the pad kee Mao and it was super greasy and not very flavorful. Ended up being mostly noodles as well, barely any chicken or vegetables. The tofu pho is a win, and I love that you can order almost anything on the menu with tofu instead of meat. However, I recommend that you order your meal to go because eating in isn't a very good experience. The service is not only sub-par, but the workers are just plain inappropriate. One of the waitresses spent about 20 minutes telling the table next to us all about how the manager hits her when she screws up, while a guy in the back of the house burped so loud it resounded through the whole place. They should probably play some music just to give the place a more comfy feel, but maybe they should turn it up extra loud to cover up the disaster that is their incompetent staff. read more

Not sure if I agree with the glowing reviews here! Food is very mediocre, atmosphere in the restaurant is sub-par as well, there is hardly any room. Menu doesn't have enough options. As for the customer service, it is the worst! First thing, the waitress could not grasp what we asked of her and was going around in circles and on top of that, she started asking us inappropriate personal questions and passing comments on us thinking it was all "hilarious". We were hoping for the weird dark haired waiter we read about but the only dark haired waiter we saw didnt seem odd and wasn't assigned to our table. The menu had a decent selection, and we were asked to select the level of spiciness we wanted on a scale of 1-5. Pleasant dinner tonight. My husband and I each got the Pad Thai. His was level 4 spicy and he said it was barely spicy. I believe mine was level 3 and I found it to have a slight kick, but nothing terrible. The only down side was that they don't have a kid's menu or a diaper changing table. My wife and I wanted to try something new and we heard that Thai kitchen was awesome so we took a chance and tried Thai kitchen for our 12th anniversary dinner. my wife loves their pineapple fried rice and I love their pad Thai and their curries their food is fresh and very tasty and seasoned really well. Since then we've eaten there multiple times and have always enjoyed our meal there are a lot of regulars that also eat there and it always makes for good conversation during dinner if you're into that if not they have quiet corners for you to enjoy their food I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

If I could give this place less than one star I would. I don't know how they are in business. The good had zero flavor even when I asked the waitress for suggestions and asked for extra spice. We go to Thai Kitchen quite often. They can usually get us right in and take our order in a reasonable time. They have a huge menu. I like the Shrimp Pad Thai mildly spicy. The service isn't top notch, but it is very adequate for this type of eatery. Don't expect 5 star service, but they make up for it in the food. I would recommend this place to a friend. read more
