DELICIOUS!! This food is absolutely lovely. We had chicken satay for an appetizer. It was juicy and perfectly prepared. We also had a crystal salad with chicken that was spicy and delicious. We at here last year, and it was delicious. It was one of two places we ate that we couldn't wait to go again. We drove about 30 minutes from North Myrtle Beach just to eat there. I'm still going with 4 stars. Our waitress was great. Staff were friendly. But the food just wasn't as good. Chicken had that reheated flavor, and the spice level was too low. Last year, the spice level was perfection, and the chicken tasted fresh. If you're in Myrtle and not North Myrtle, give them a try. We added the spring roll appetizer, and they were tasty. As an out of towner, this is a great hole in a wall must try! Everyone here is super friendly and welcoming. Decent variety of the menu items but ended up getting the yellow curry as my main dish. Great amount of spice, flavor, and came out hot! This is one of my go to curries and their's is delicious. Comes with a small portion of rice though, not sure if you can ask for more. I also couldn't go without trying their spring (summer) rolls for an app and a Thai tea. Came in for a later lunch after a fun day of golfing. Looked up online for a Thai restaurant to get some Mango Sticky Rice and saw that they did have it on there menu. The restaurant had a large group already eating there meal so I was able to order and get my meal brought out to me in a timely manner. I ordered the Red Curry with Beef, it was good, but would have liked it to be more spicier. The Mango Sticky Rice was really good though. Thai Lao is walking distance from Myrtle beach activity area, about 5 minutes walk. The restaurant has nice interior with Thai vibe integrated with the appearance. The menu is huge with all sorts of well known and popular Thai dishes. We started with the Tom yum soup with seafood. Really good soup, probably the best item of the night for me. Pad woo sen and calamari were also an excellent dish. The appetizer sampler was underwhelming, I felt the items could have been better. She was rude, Dismissive and acted like me and my child were an annoyance. Even though my child was neither loud nor disruptive to anything in the restaurant. I put a 0 on the tip, and signed the receipt. I get a change on my account for 54.54$ today on my card! They charged me a 20$ tip when that was never given! My husband found Thai Lao while running errands in Myrtle Beach about six months ago, and he's extolled its virtues ever since. I finally had the opportunity to join him, along with some friends visiting from Maine, who we'd just collected from MYR. It was as good as the hype, perhaps even better. Service is warm and welcoming, and generally you can pick where you want to sit. It's a cozy space, tucked into a small shopping center near the Ferris wheel. There was plenty of street parking available in early May, but I'm guessing parking could be an issue during peak summer season. The best thing about Thai Lao is the food. The nam sod was a revelation - it tasted so fresh - I would have this again and again. Ditto the shrimp Pad Thai, with sweet local shrimp and expertly cooked noodles. Other dishes that got rave reviews: Wonton soup; chicken wings; spicy basil fried rice; and the ginger chicken stir fry. Heat can be adjusted to suit your spice tolerance. Both the Thai iced coffee and Thai iced tea were good and strong, and a delicious, soothing counterpoint to the spicy Thai food. Mwah! read more

Came in around 8.30pm on Wednesday night for dinner. There was only one lady running the restaurant, taking orders, serving, giving checks. All the tables were full. We weren't greeted when we came in so just got in the line in front of the counter, once our turn came we got seated ourselves but she didn't give us any menus or water. After waiting, we picked up the menu ourselves. Then finally she came by. Extremely poor service, almost non existent. Food was good though, so maybe come when they are less busy so you get better service. She also locked the door during closing time so no one could enter, but customers couldn't exit, so she had to come to unlock the door a couple of times. Haven't seen this before! read more

My boyfriend and I came out to Myrtle Beach to celebrate my birthday for the weekend and wanted to have a taste of home with us and found this restaurant only a 7/8 minute walk from the boardwalk! They weren't lying when they said it's family owned. It's 100% house/home made with LOVE! My server was Sky and her lovely mom! They were not only super accommodating and sweet but their food is top tier. I'm from Georgia so there's plenty of asian foods to go around and try. But nothing like this. We got their Pad Thai and their Yellow Curry spicy level 2 and started with a beef salad! My boyfriend went IN on that pad thai so I couldn't sneal a bite before he killed it but I'm assuming it was so so good! He described the taste is definitely more on the sweeter side than savory and he honestly prefers it that way. You can taste every single flavor and it and the noodle texture was perfect! It did not come spicy and we didn't ask to make it spicy :) For the Beef salad starter, I'd definitely say I'm pretty good in spices (better than my boyfriend at least) and man that beef salad was HOT. But so, sooo good. Hands down so good. My nose was runnin by the time I finished that plate. So fair warning, if you get the beef salad make sure you specify what spice u want it at or if you want it at all because I did not and it came pretty hot so I can't tell you specifically what the level was. It's also a more limey and vinagery taste. I got the yellow curry because I'm a big fan of potatoes! I asked for a level 2 and I do believe their space range was 1-5. The level 2 was so hot to me! So very very good. The potatoes were soft and not hard, the carrots thinly sliced with the perfect chicken to veggie ratio in the curry. We finished up with the mango sticky rice dessert which was DELICIOUS. Definitely recommend trying when its in season! We went there again on our last day to just say goodbye and we saw Sky's mom was in the kitchen today! She made our food with extta love! I got the same thing but a level one and was able to comfortably eat it with a bit of kick too it and my boyfriend got the Beef Lad na and it was delicious as well! We started off with the fried tofu appetizer that came with this delicious peanut sauce that also taste great in the curry too if you wanted to add tofu to your curry! Definitely love and miss the family and the food here. They're so so kind to everyone who walks in. I noticed that as I was eating. For our party we have 4 people and a baby and it was really tight. -The servers here are nice. They are really busy every time we come but they provided us with good service and were helpful. -Food! I love the papaya salad! But WARNING even level 1 spicy is really spicy for me! I asked and they confirm they actually can make it no spicy. Beef salad would be great if they didn't over cook the beef. But the flavor is just right so I still like it. The Red Snapper fish was a huge disappointment. The fish too is way overcooked so it was dried. The sauce for the snapper is just watery and missing something to the taste. For $60 I really am disappointed. People we came with also ordered fried tofu and pad Thai with tofu as protein so if you're vegan you also have that option here. -Overall we been coming here for a while and it's our spot. The curry is incredible, the pad kee mao (drunken noodles ) are delish, and the best part is that we asked for Thai spicy, and to make it extra spicy and they really delivered!!!
