First of all, if you drive to fast on Socastee Blvd, you will definitely miss this place. What a nice family jem they have here. Great Thai, with all the spice levels you might want. Including actually no spice, as my wife prefers. Of course I am on the complete opposite side of that when it comes to spice and you will not be disappointed. Portions are more than adequate. Great array of beers and yes, they do have cocktails as well. The dining room is on the small side, so if you go when they first open, you shouldn't have a problem. They do take reservations, so that way you can lock in a table. Because this is a family restaurant, expect a little wait for your main course as everything is pretty much made fresh. But any wait is well worth the time. The Garden rolls actually came as an order of 8. But they looked so yummy we couldn't wait to try them. read more

I ordered food here for the first time. We got shrimp pad Thai. The noodles were gummy, cold and inedible. There was nothing else with the dish. Often this dish is served with some garnishing. We got crab Rangoon and the cream cheese did not taste fresh and they were inadequately cooked. I tasted no crab whatsoever. Fresh and tasty! I love their beef noodle soup. It has to be the best I've had in the area. As of this posting they are doing take out only. There is no indoor dining. They are very accommodating when it comes to customizing your order. Everything is cooked to order so you may face a bit of a wait. I only had a 30 min wait tonight, but I've ordered before and had to wait an hour and a half. But it is worth it because you know you're getting fresh food. They have limited hours and I believe they are closed on Sunday and Mondays. read more

Frustrated that it was $21.90 on the website and $28.90 when I got there to pay - inflation 32% ........ ok not sure that's inflation vs covid gauging. Thai Palms is a hidden gem in MB/Socastee! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our veggie spring rolls and Pad See Ew! The spring rolls were fresh, larger in size than most Thai restaurants, and not oily. The Pad See Ew they made with tofu and no fish sauce since we are vegetarian. The broccoli was not over cooked! The taste was delicious and mild! They do ask how spicy you want your dishes . The portion was large enough for two! We order at the take out window (no indoor seating the night we visited/take out only). They were so nice!! Definitely will be going again and encourage everyone to give them a try! The coconut shrimp was greasy and it was defrosted frozen shrimp it definitely was NOT made fresh. There was zero coconut on the coconut shrimp. The crab Rangoon's were better. They used a mix of crab and cream cheese. They were a bit over cooked but far better than the shrimp. Pad Thai chicken was better. It was fresh chicken served with bean sprouts. Would I return? This hole in the wall restaurant is my favorite find so far in Myrtle Beach! I love Thai food, there is something comforting about the noodles and sauce and smell to me (which is funny because I grew up in Alabama). I have had some not so good Thai food lately trying to find the perfect spot to fill the void of my favorite Thai place which is now 10 plus hours away. This restaurant does that!! I ordered food through Door Dash. The order said 45-55 minutes. The food did not arrive until over 2 hours later. I spoke to the delivery person. She showed me on her phone that she did not get the call to pick up the food till 1 1/2 hour later, then she had to wait 10 minutes for the food. She said, she's been seeing a lot of complaints from this restaurant about being very slow with take outs. The food was very spicy, which I did not expect. I know Thai food is normally spicy, but the ones I ordered said light spice. It was good, but too spicy for me. Beware if you are not into very spicy food. I might give them a try for eating in, just to see if they are better with their service. But I will not be expecting much. read more

It's disarming from the small building appearance that you can easily kiss off the busy 707. Once you enter the door it is charming, with a local home-like appeal & kind service. We tried the pad Thai, which took classic flavors and upped it by offering 2 FREE spring rolls that were hand made and larger than I've ever seen in a restaurant. We also tried the Pad See-Ew, which was the best I've ever had on either coast. Lastly, we tried the Pad Broccoli with tofu and it was rich, flavorful and perfectly balanced the white rice that came with it. Veggies were soft and tender. Everything we had was "yum" inducing on everyone's lips & we loved how spring rolls came with every meal. Lastly, the prices were very reasonable, $9-$13 per plate (for great portions).
