I stopped by CO Sushi in Myrtle Beach for happy hour the other night and honestly, it was a solid choice. The sushi came out super fresh and tasted great, it had nice, clean flavors and the fish felt really good quality. The happy hour deals made it even better; the prices were totally reasonable and I left feeling satisfied without breaking the bank. That said, when I glanced at the regular menu prices, they felt a little steep for the portion sizes and what you get. Don't get me wrong, everything we had was very good, but I've had better value at some spots up in Northern Virginia/DC area that offer similar or even higher quality for less. Still, I'm not gonna let that take away from this place. For Myrtle Beach, CO Sushi is definitely one of the stronger sushi options around. If you're in the area and it's happy hour, I'd say go for it. Just maybe skip the regular pricing. read more

Went her for dinner with the family last night. It's located in a more away the from the beach nicer area of myrtle beach. The place was kind of small with outside seating too. The interior was decorated real nice. The server did a wonderful job. The food was good but kind of small portion. The dumplings were amazingly tasting. A nice beefy flavor with a thin wrapping. But the real shocker was the Pho. My son wanted Pho and we were really against eating fusion pho. But this was probably one of the best pho in Myrtle Beach. It had a good pho smell and flavor along with the broth being beefy and fatty. I would definitely go here for the pho. the only down side is they only have rare beef. You can add meatball for 4 more dollars. overall a very pleasant dining experience in a nice ambiance. Be prepared to order more if you are a heavy eater. For starters we got crab raggon and beef with kimchi dumplings. 2 half sweet/half unsweetened tea which had a very different taste wasn't crazy about it. She ordered the stack and hubby and I had Ahi poke bowls but his was spicy. Food was very good but the server was very rushed with us as if it bothered him if we asked for anything extra. They muddle blackberries then (I guess) pour sake over the muddled fruit. Idk but it has the blackberries in it, was perfectly sweet and chilled. Their crab puffs are delicious. While the waiter tried he still did not do his job. 1) he "carded" only 1 person at the table - a woman. Whoever answers the phone here needs to be more personable. Apparently they do NOT like taking orders over the phone. I tried through yelp through the webpage and also on the google app and their webpage wouldn't' let me order. I told this to the guy and he said they got 6 online orders so it should be working. So I said ok I will order this one roll that was $17 and he said ok it will be 35 minutes and $21. I said how is tax $4? He said that I have to pay $1.50 for takeout. Ohmygoodness!!! I just found the restaurant of my dreams! Went for lunch. My friend ordered the avocado ceviche. It was only $10 and LOADED with huge chunks of avocado. I think they might have lost money on that one. I am going to try that next time, but add crab. I had the Nigiri sampler. Five BEAUTIFUL pieces of fish. I asked for Ponzu and green onions, as I love that on my Nigiri, as opposed to soy sauce and wasabi. I was surprised to learn they make their own - it has a citrus taste. Very good, but I prefer the vinegary flavor of old-fashioned ponzu. The waiter - didn't catch his name, was very attentive. I only had water with lemon, but it was filtered and very refreshing. Perfectly mid sushi. Rice was a bit too soft and under seasoned in my opinion. The mushiness comes through more with maki rolls with nori on the outside but the rice was much less of an issue with the 2 signature rolls we tried (since crunch roll was flash fried too). Fish was fresh on the salmon lemon roll and I enjoyed the flavors. Pieces of both crunch & salmon lemon rolls were a bit larger than bite size, so you definitely get a lot of food. Drinks: We first got the lemongrass infused sake, but switched over to the cucumber. The lemongrass one had lychee in it and was extremely syrupy. If sweet is your thing, go for it! Cucumber was much lighter and citrusy. Server was sweet and prompt. She checked in appropriately and took care of our sake issue. Overall, this place can be a great value if you're in the area and craving sushi, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. INCREDIBLE sushi! Super fresh and just beautifully plated! I had two specialty rolls for dinner. Our hosts had two as well. They come here A LOT. I totally would too! Half price on Tuesday's and Thursday's. My S.O. doesn't like sushi (I know, I know . . .) and they specially made him a chicken fried rice, with chicken atop, bowl. Drove to Myrtle Beach from Maryland for my birthday. Had a friend recommend Co Sushi. Our bartender, Ambi provided great service and excellent recommendations. Loved my spicy salmon bowl, the husband loved his firecracker roll. The lemon salmon pressed roll was a 4/5 stars. The crispy pork spring roll was the only meh thing we ordered. The service is TERRIBLE! Went twice, thinking perhaps the first time that the bad was just a fluke. The first time the waitress literally forgot about us. Our sushi took an hour and 15 minutes to get to us. And then it was warm. UGH. The second time I went in by myself. The hostess told me I was not allowed to have a table for one - I had to eat at the bar. The bar was PACKED and I was squished in between two parties. People were all around me, pushing up to get drinks. If I came in with three people would they not seat me at a table for four? The sushi is just okay. Good food at great food prices.
