Thai Luong is so good! If you're looking to veer away from your traditional pad thai and pad see ews, you should definitely try Thai Luong. There are dishes with authentic spices and flavors that'll take you away from "Thai-American" food to authentic Thai food. If anything, you could tell by the portions that it's meant to be family-style so keep that in mind. But overall, the curries and the noodles, and all the proteins are cooked to perfection that it's definitely a place to return to.

Food was pretty good, we definitely underestimated the quantity of how much food would come in each dish. We ended up having a lot of left overs. The Thai tea was especially good! I recommend getting this. The service was okay but the restaurant was very pretty inside.

Went to TL on Friday night. It was fantastic. The Duck soup was delicious as was the crispy beef. Service was very good. I would recommend them for sure!

This place is amazing!! The food portions are large (and sharable - if desired). It's so flavorful! The thai dumplings - got 3 orders. Drunken chicken noodles, crispy snapper, spicy fried rice (liked the ground chicken vs the filet pieces), and the crispy duck (OMG!!) - we ate well!! The ambiance is delightful. The owner is super friendly and sweet. You'll love this hidden gem that's not super busy!!

Love the lunch menu. Comes with soup and spring roll. Both very good. I enjoyed the red curry, while my guest had panang curry. Both flavorful. Full of veggie goodies. Decor is nice. Not updated or fancy. Music playing at a low volume enhances the mood. Recommend for lunch.

Crispy Duck Noodle Soup - So good!

Who knew this area would be known for one dish: Crispy Duck noodle soup. I had the pleasure of trying Thai Tada's version and wanted to see how Thai Luang compared. Although their crispy skin got soggier faster, the duck had a bit more flavor from the duck fat. Also, the broth slightly had more flavor than Thai Tada's. Thai Luang's version uses very large wide noodle which was fun to eat with a fork. The prices were about the same and well worth every dollar. In conclusion, which place is better? Sorry folks, it's a dramatic tie for me!

I moved to Herndon two years back and ever since, this has been my go to thai place! In fact, since coming here I now live in Chantilly, and I will drive all the way out here because their thai food is the best in northern Virginia hands down. The staff are so friendly, sweet, and when you order to go they make it FAST. My go to items are the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and the Spicy Basil Fried Rice. I really like spicy food and level 2 and 3 are very spicy! I love when places actually know what "spicy" means. I always get tofu as my protein and they give you plenary! The thai iced tea is also super good. I have never been disappointed with anything I've ordered from here. The biggest plus for me is they give you SO much when you order. I know when I order take out it will last me a good three to four days of dinner.

Thai food is not my favorite. We went here for my MIL's birthday. The food was decent. Not a big fan of coconut either but we decided to share some coconut ice cream. DUDE, this ice cream changed my life. Imported directly from Thailand it was freaking amazing. Huge chunks of roasted coconuts it tastes like chocolate. I daydream about it everyday. GO TRY IT!

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in DMV area. They got my heart for almost 10 years. You will not find more delicious drunken noodles in any other Thai restorant. I don't mind to drive 40 min just to enjoy their food. The stuff is very friendly!

The duck roll has hard not chewable meats in all of them, we had to spit them out. Papaya salad can use a bit more thai seasoning, the spicy level was good. Pad thai was very yummy so were the veggie dishes. the atmosphere was so-so, furnitures definitely need to be updated, as they will be going through renovations in September. the cute figurine on the walls were adorable. located in a busy shopping center, parking can be difficult to find at times. do recommend put up a mirror in the restrooms during your next month renovations. foodies of @WineDinenVacay enjoyed majority of this visit, plan to return post renovation.

TLDR: absolutely recommend this place. Some of my favorite Thai food in the area! The Drunken…read morenoodles with medium spice and the Ka Prow fried rice are two of my favorite dishes. My wife and I finally decided to try this place after years of saying "one day". We've now ordered twice in the past 2 weeks. The first time we ordered the Ka Prow fried rice and the drunken noodles with medium spice and chicken. I ordered the lunch size drunken noodles and it was a good amount of food! They were the best drunken noodles I've had around here by far. And the Ka Prow fried rice was so smoky and full of flavor! It makes all other fried rices feel boring in comparison. This time I ordered the Kao Soi chicken. It had a delicious red curry sauce and two whole chicken legs with the egg noodles. I loved how rich the flavor of the soup is. The full grilled squid was something we ordered on our first time and it was also really good but I think a tad overcooked. I can't really speak to service other than the staff being friendly when I've walked in to grab our order. But the inside of the restaurant is cozy. We will definitely keep coming back here and highly recommend it if you're in the area.

The issue is this places gets busy quickly and the waitress and waiters dont have specific tables. They are all sharing. That is a big problem. You dont catch who you've been ignoring. We came in a group of 2 and was giving 1 water. Asked for another 2 times and no one thought oh we never gave them the water. I usually order red curry but I order fried rice and my bf order red curry. He was waiting for me to get my food. I told him to eat. He almost finished his plate before my fried rice ever came. I had to ask about it. It was just horrible experience that I would never come again in person. Ordering online or deliver. I always order red curry and spicy....the spice must depend on the cook for the day thats the only thing not consistent but its so good spice or not. Only reason I gave 2 stars otherwise off of in person id give 1 for the experience. Everytime I come in its just too busy and not worth it. Especially when there isnt a designated waiter or waitress per table. Just leads to ill experience and no accountability for the ill experience.

That should tell you something right there. THIS REVIEW IS FOR A LUNCH TO-GO CARRY OUT ORDER FOR 1 (ME!) - while it's not posted on their website, I called and found out they DO have a lunch specials menu. I ordered the Panang Curry Chicken. Lunch specials come with rice and 2 spring rolls. $15 which for what you get and the large entree portion size is super good value - ESPECIALLY THESE DAYS OF OUTRAGEOUSLY SKY HIGH PRICES FOR EVERYTHING INCLUDING DINING OUT! I even had leftovers and made a second meal out of it. Can't beat that for value. I posted pics of my lunch order so check those out. I think you'll agree that for $15, it's a good deal. And the curry and spring rolls were DELICIOUS. JUST LIKE I REPORTED 3 YEARS AGO! Really good quality sliced white meat chicken, thick but not too thick (and definitely not too watery which I hate!) curry sauce that was superrrrr flavorful. I mean spoon the extra sauce over rice and you're good to go! Don't waste even a drop of it lol. It's liquid gold. The spring rolls were deeeeelicious. Super piping hot out of the deep fryer and the tightest rolled rolls I've ever seen and bitten into. JUST LIKE 3 YEARS AGO. Da BOMB. The restaurant is located in the Worldgate Shopping Center in Herndon off Elden. Super convenient. The inside is super cute, cozy and clean JUST LIKE 3 YEARS AGO. There were a good number of people eating in. Staff was super friendly. And what I love about this place is, if you're picking up carry out, there's a row of 20 min parking spaces close to the restaurant for quick in and out. If you're looking for an amazing value and a delicious lunch meal with a quick, no hassle in and out, Nan Thai is it! Definitely HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I'll be back to order other lunch special dishes for sure!
