My colleague and I checked out this place for dinner and we're glad we did. I ordered a Thai tea and pad Thai. The Thai tea was very delicious. The pad Thai met the "pad Thai taste test". The noodles were done correctly, the protein to noodle ratio/portion was a good amount, and the flavors were excellent! The interior decor was beautiful and the staff were pleasant. I was a little concerned when there were not enough people at this restaurant but it turned out to be fine. The tom yum soup is pretty fresh though I would've wished that the mushroom melded with the soup a bit more. It was a hair too raw which left that earthy-mushroom taste a little too strong. Our other dish -- a cripsy one -- was delightful but nothing that you wouldn't find elsewhere. Do I sound like a broken record? imo, Siam Spice STILL DESERVES 5 STARS. I'm still mainly a call-in, to-go takeout customer DURING LUNCHTIME. Yes, even as a takeout customer, I give this place 5 stars. DO take advantage of their Lunch Specials menu and pricing. Many of your favorite Thai classics as well as some really good specialty dishes on the lunch menu. Lunch specials come with a mini app and rice. Portion sizes are decent - not huge but decent enough for the price. I love their Spicy String Bean (with choice of meat) - the spicy zingy sauce combines well with the tender meat and crunchy sautéed string beans. We also love the Siam Steak specialty dish (not a Lunch Special) worth the slightly higher price. The steak is tender and good cuts of beef. The special sauce/marinade is flavorful and delicious - and when I ordered the dish as a carryout, they thoughtfully provided the marinade separately on the side. Another favorite (check out all my pics) is the Thai Chicken Salad Larb. LOVE the spicy dressing which I always ask for "on the side." I have this as a main entree - goes great with a side of rice and a spring roll. LOVE their spring rolls - a single order consists of 4 small rolls - delicious filling, perfectly crispy crunchy deep fried wrapper skin. The staff is wonderful, friendly and accommodating. The interior and space is super small but super clean, neat and quaintly and tastefully decorated. Food is ready quickly and everything is sooo fresh, piping hot and delicious right out the kitchen. Full bar. If you live in Sterling around the Sterling Blvd area (Safeway, McDs, Taco Bell/KFC', Harbor Freight), highly recommend a pop in for lunch or dinner (pro tip: take advantage of their lunch specials even if you save your meal for dinner!). I was in the area for training and this place is tucked in between a laundromat and other businesses. There are plenty of parking, as you walked in, there are limited of seatings but manageable. I was greeted with a smile from my server. I ordered 3 items: 1) Siam spice wings 2) Grilled beef salad 3) Pad see eiw. When my food arrived to the table, one by one, they were pretty display. The wings were piping hot so be careful on your first bite. These were very flavorful from outside to in, sweet and savory dancing on your palate. You can use your hands but I recommend to use a fork or chopsticks. You won't be able to just eat one, every bite was better. Don't forget the also eat the garnished salad that comes with it too. The grilled beef salad was unique with fresh herbs, roasted rice, lime juice and red onions. I realize later that this dish would be better if it was accompanied by streamed or sticky rice. The flat rice noodle dish (pad see eiw) was a little dry but tasty. Everything was delicious and my server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant was clean and cozy. Let me preface this by saying I live in Houston, where you will find some of the best food. The Thai here is AMAZING. When I saw the reviews while being on vacation, I thought okay this place should be decent, was I WRONG. I ordered the massaman curry. It was so runny and flavorless. The chicken was almost inedible. Came in here on a Wednesday night and it's pretty quiet and cozy! I ordered the drunken noodle with beef and it wasn't very spicy at all. However, the flavor was good, and the noodle texture was soft and chewy. It was a bit on the oily side, but I think that's just the nature of Thai food here. My husband and I decided to dine at Siam Spice on a whim. We tried the cheese wontons -wontons with cream cheese filling and sweet and sour dipping sauce. My husband really liked these and I recommend them for cream cheese lovers. I had the drunken noodles with beef which was excellent. The beef was perfectly cooked and the dish was prepared with mild spice as requested. My husband liked his parang curry as well. The food was made quickly and the service was great. This place was decent a few years ago that's why reviews are high but believe this place now is a ONE star because the food quality, sanitary conditions reported by the Health Department and to make matters worst they raised their prices and add an 18% tip !!! No crisp or crunch at all. Ate 2, threw 10 away (mistake of a double order). Soup - not"bad" so much as uninspired. Like frozen taquitos from the store-- just simply blasé and uninspired. Thai crispy rolls - much like the wontons - soggy. No crisp, no crunch. Overall, and given the price, there is nothing here to incentivize me to continue to order from this place when there are so many other Thai options in the area. Siam Spice is worth checking out for those looking to satisfy their thai food craving. Both entrees were made to order and had a very generous portion. Definitely the best bang for your buck. The spicy green beans were cooked with a spicy sauce and still had a snap when bitten into. The sauce was a good punch of sweet, spicy, and savory. The drunken noodle was cooked perfectly with charred edges on the noodles and a good balance of sauce, noodles, and toppings. Also the staff and service is top notch! They are incredibly responsive and friendly. I don't venture out to Sterling too often but glad we came across this gem. I found this restaurant on Mapquest looking for a restaurant that was close to a work site visit. I called on Monday to make a reservation for a group of 11. The representative gave me great directions on where it was located in the shopping center. I noticed the restaurant closes at 330 and our reservation was at 230pm and they assured us they wouldn't rush us out. We arrived a day later and a few minutes early and our table was reserved. Mint was our server and was awesome. I ordered the Thai ice tea and the shrimp spicy basil wand it was delicious. My colleagues ordered the drunken noodle and it was a tad spicy for them. Mint made sure she adjusted their dishes to their liking. The restaurant is cute and service was spot on! When I'm back in Loudoun County, I'll have to check it out. read more

WARNING!!! Received a garbage that was supposed to be a chicken dish almost $20. All of these was frying crumbs without any chicken meat inside. The cook admitted that it was all crumbs (THEY DID IT ON PURPOSE!!) when I called, and they guaranteed refund but never did. Avoid this place by all means. I don't usually leave a bad review, but I hope this review saves some people. It feels terrible to receive a garbage and never get the money back. read more

This was a great choice for a quick dinner. The hard part was picking from all of the great sounding dishes. I went with the basil crispy chicken. It had a great flavor and I really enjoyed it. I wish there was more basil and even a little more sauce to go with the side of rice. My wife got the Pad Thai and found it as good or better than any we normally get. My first time here, my basil crispy chicken was a bit tough/over-cooked, the large Thai tea was pretty tasty and sweet (the best part of my meal) and the rice tasted fresh out of the rice cooker. The mild tom yum soup w/ chicken was pretty spicy for being mild with a very strong ginger flavor throughout (hard chunks of it were still in the soup and I couldn't eat through it) and one tough big chunk of chicken in it along with diced-up mushrooms, a few basil leaves, and diced scallions. Decided to visit this restaurant back in April and had a so-so experience. Ordered a few items for take-out. Papaya Salad (spicy), Southern Style Fried Chicken, and Pad See Eiw (spicy). However, when we opened up the food, we were pretty disappointed to learn that the foods we wanted were NOT spicy at all! And then the Southern Style Fried Chicken was actually like Indian flavored, named Haad Yai Chicken on the receipt. I figured it was a mistake, so called up the restaurant to ask why the chicken wasn't what I had expected and they explained the reasoning. I did a pickup order here, and I'm glad I did -- the interior smells musty and is dark and cramped (not to mention it's in a pretty bad part of town). Spring rolls -- mostly just wrapper and the inside was strangely gooey and mushy. I had the crispy basil chicken -- too much soggy salad underneath, not enough sauteed vegetables or hot peppers to go with the chicken, which was mostly batter crumbs and not actual chicken pieces. It also was not remotely spicy, even with a few jalapeno slices sprinkled about that I did eat (even the peppers themselves only seemed mild). I also had the pad thai -- it was completely flavorless. No spice to it at all (ironic for a place with spice in the name). There was a good helping of vegetables in it, and the tofu was cooked and seasoned appropriately. Overall, this place lacks authenticity and flavor, and I'm surprised by how highly it is reviewed overall on Yelp. I think that Sortrel and Sense of Thai both have way more interesting, flavorful dishes and incredibly better atmospheres. read more

We happened to drive by this area. We are not sure why this restaurant is with such high rating. The owner is friendly. But the food we ordered ( drunken noodle and Siam fried rice) were just ok. The drunken noodles should be the better choice. The beef in the rice tasted not fresh. We live in fairfax so I would say Thai restaurants in fairfax, like sister Thai, are way better than this one. Best drunken noodle in the area of Sterling, Herndon. We have ordered their drunken noodles for a few times. Each times, it comes out really delicious and flavor and spices are there. Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant in NOVA...and I've tried a lot of Thai. It's located next to a laundromat and seems a bit unappealing from the exterior, but TRUST, the food is bomb. Their Panang Curry is the closest I've come to imitating the curry I had in Thailand. I always ask for a little extra spice because if my sinuses aren't running, am I really eating Thai food? They're a small location with a super friendly staff. Wait times can be a little excessive, but it's worth it. Make sure you save room for a Thai iced tea with an order of mango sticky rice.
