We had a phenomenal night at My Home Thai! We had been to the Falls Church location, and the quality is very similar. First, the vibes and the decor is very inviting. For appetizers, we tried the dumplings, crying tiger beef, and shrimp cakes ! It was a great start. My favorite was the crying tiger, and the shrimp cakes. For entrées, we ordered the pad Thai (w chicken), Penang curry (w beef), and the lobster fried rice. Everything was so tasty. The curry was top-notch (the broccoli I did not like a lot though). Both the pad Thai and the fried rice portions are definitely for two people. Very filling! They had fun, zodiac sign inspired drinks. We tried Sagittarius and Capricorn.( our signs) also there are planet inspired drinks - super creative! Plenty of parking and great service! Highly recommend for date night or larger groups. Ya a shame, because I've eaten here when I'm in this town at meal times, and I'd otherwise recommend the food. I've decided I won't stop here again as I've just been turned away. They advertise a 3PM closing and I arrived at 2:30. Plenty of time to prepare a Thai meal. But, they say they want to close the kitchen. Under the new management and renovation, this place is surprisingly a good competitor for fave thai place in the area! They have large portion sizes, even for the appetizers, and we got all this food for under $100. And a plus, super aesthetic inside, lots of florals and figurines! Service was great, our server was always checking on us to make sure we were okay! My favorite was the duck ka-pow, tender and crispy, and the pineapple fried rice to pair! Great food. Great decor. I've only been here twice, but each time I went it was a hit with my friends. The first time I went, I ordered the quack quack noodles and melon-flavored drink. I absolutely loved the quack quack noodles and would've ordered it again when I returned, but I wanted to try other items on their menu. The melon drink was decent. My friends ordered a bunch of food on the menu, and everyone enjoyed their food and drinks! The second time I went, I got the massaman curry with beef and calamari. While the curry was too sweet for my taste, it was still very palatable. The calamari pieces were quite large. I prefer them to be more chopped up, but they were still good. One of my friends got the shumai (I can't remember what it was called in the menu), and it was easily my favorite appetizer. One piece was more than enough because of how meaty it was. Honestly, one order of shumai was basically a meal. My other friend ordered the fish cake or other for an appetizer which was also tasty. They both also got curry, but I can't remember what they got. I'm not sure what's going on but the past 2-3 months things have changed. They have forgotten my egg roll , forgot mu Thai tea multiple times, I'll say spices on the side and it's not. Food seems like it's cooked differently. I live in Ashburn so I'm frequent to that one as well and food the same perfect. But the Reston location not the same. Today I ordered the lunch fried rice got back to my desk and it was plain noodles with chicken and dry Peppers all over it. I have no idea what It was and it looked flavorless. I had to wait about 10 mins for my food but it's freezing I didn't want to walk back over there for the correct food and not one person apologized. The girls that use to be there would of gave me a Thai tea for free or at least apologized. I eat her at least 3 times a week so I think I need to find a new spot. read more

Have heard great things about this Thai spot from my family so I had to see for myself. I absolutely love grilled squid and this place did it right - great char, with a nice bouncy texture and an amazing sauce. The other items we got were solid. They didn't blow us away but were still good and at a very affordable price. They have a very aesthetic interior and drinks. Service was also very good as well. From the moment you walk into this place you will be stunned by how beautiful it is! This is a perfect instagram worthy spot but also has equally beautiful and delicious food/drink as well. Great for large groups, date night, or family dinner. Seats are very comfortable. Service is quick and so friendly! They put the order in as you order so service is fast as well! The food is soo delicious and fresh. My favorite apps were the dumplings, spring rolls, and crying tiger (you must try the sauce because it's the star of the show). My favorite entrees were the whole fish - fileted and easy to serve, it's so good, crab or pineapple fried rice (best fried rice i've ever had), and the pad thai. All of their dishes are beautifully presented and take so fresh. Finally their drinks...where do I begin?! We came here as a group of nine family and friends. The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance, and the staff were genuinely nice and welcoming. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. The food took over 40 minutes to come out, even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We ordered two Panang curries, one red curry, Crying Tiger, steak, chicken fried rice, and spicy basil. The much bigger issue -- and the reason for this review -- is that seven out of nine of us became sick afterward. We all experienced stomach cramps and diarrhea, and even 3 of my daughters had to miss school because of it. It's very concerning, and I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and checks their food safety and handling processes. My girlfriend had been here a few times prior and brought me home food and I thought it was good then. But we decided to here after church on Sunday and it was even better fresh out of the kitchen! We started with an order of the duck egg rolls. I ordered the quack quack soup. The duck was very crispy and delicious in both the starter and the soup. It wasn't hard to get down despite it being crunchy. The service was good. Nothing really to report. They were quick with the service and were kind. The ambiance is typically why people come here. They have a tree in the middle that everyone likes to take pictures with. They also have a lot of Bear Bricks and other decorations. I'd recommend this place if you like Thai food. Food: Chicken Satay included 5 tender sticks of chicken breast. Their 2 sauces were very tasty. The peanut sauce was a peanut jelly. I ordered my favorite Beef and Green beans. The flavor really popped and was very memorable. Service was quick. There was lots of staff filling water glasses and clearing plates. I love the ambiance of this open and airy Thai place in the Coopers Hawk strip center. Parking can be dicey on a busy Friday and Saturday night because of all the fun restaurants in this area. Reviews were mixed so I was hesitant to try them but we are o glad that we had a good day. Food: I've been to almost all the Thai restaurants in this area. The food here does beat out my previous go-to places. We ordered quite a bit during our day of hunger. The Pad see Ewe was so flavorful and included plenty of protein. I've been wanting to try their food via uber eats, but never got a chance. So glad I got a chance to finally visit this location and taste the food. The restaurant is just GORGEOUS...with the lovely decorations, display cases, herringbone floors, gold silverware, the list goes on and on. It creates the mood for a great dining experience and even conversation. Safe to say the most luxurious looking Thai restaurant I've ever been to. The menus are beautiful and colorful, but so bulky and hard to browse through...let alone take a picture of :P! We ordered the Street Fried Rice with chicken (medium spicy) and Panang Curry with beef (medium spicy). We probably could have asked for Thai spicy. The fried rice was so delicious, almost exactly like the fried rice at our old Thai spot; the Panang was tasty, but was a little too "liquidy", which made it harder to eat with the dry/chewy beef. The menu is incredibly expansive and cutely made as there are little figurines in the pictures next to the food. Everything that we ordered was delicious. Not pictured but the Quack Quack Noodle Soup is a must-try! It was delicious and very filling. The chicken wings with sweet chili sauce is also a favorite of mine. It may look dry on the outside, but the inside is incredibly juicy with crunchy skin. The squid was also surprisingly delicious despite looking like an average squid dish. The service was average and our waitress was nice and prompt. The interior was nicely decorated with lots of flowers everywhere. My aunt is a regular here and says that the flower displays are changed throughout the year, which is neat. There were also a lot of figurines and collectibles in tall displays. We came to dine-in for an early Friday dinner. We were seated right away right next to another diner even though there were ample seating options elsewhere in the restaurant. This made for an interesting arrangement because I could literally hear everything that the people next to our table talked about. This was such a shame because the decor of the restaurant was otherwise stunning and the service was prompt. There was ample free parking outside and the place was bustling once past 6pm. The reason for the 3-star review? I was disappointed by how sweet everything tasted. The eggplant lover dish was very sweet and very watery. We got a very meager amount of rice that was disproportionate to the amount of actual dish was. The pad thai was also very sweet and extremely mushy. The noodles were practically melted and disintegrated. The chive cake was somehow also very mushy and the accompanying sauce was like molasses syrup. I wholeheartedly regret putting any sauce on because it just tasted like chive flavored sugar cake. The spring rolls were ok. Nothing to write home about given its filling mostly all vermicelli noodles. What a shame it is that I wouldn't be willing to recommend this place to friends or family. Given the amount of price and the attention to detail placed on the restaurant atmosphere, I would have thought that the food would actually match the same level of standard. Maybe the next time I should just speak up and just tell them nothing is ok and I want things remade. read more

What an adorable little bistro! Lunch was so good on Saturday. I had to go back the following Wednesday. The menu is amazing and so is the food. There were so many things I want to try that I know I'll be going back again and again, but on both trips, I had the lemongrass soup with chicken. Everything tasted so fresh and good. Food was good, service left much to be desired. The website did not have a place for reservations, but I'm glad I called to make one as the restaurant is not very large. We were seated immediately upon arrival (me and a friend) and the ambiance was nice with florals everywhere. All staff wore gloves, which I'm not used to. Wait staff came by about 4 times to ask if we were ready order, which was excessive. Food was brought out quickly and was very good. The spring rolls were hot and crispy and all plates were tasty in typical Thai fashion. Drinks were pricy but good and kicked in about mid way through. Throughout the evening wait staff came to our table at least 3 times with food or drink we did NOT order. Unfortunately, after we got our food, we felt ignored as NO staff came by to ask how the meal was, if we would like to order additional drinks (not even more water), or to offer dessert. Missed opportunity on their part to provide standard service and possibly have us order more. I may go back for takeout, but the in-restaurant dining experience was a fail. read more

Rice wasn't too greasy and was cooked well. Pad see ew had a great balance of sauce. Portion filled us up too much that we took the rest home for lunch. -- SECOND VISIT FOOD/DRINK: 3/5 SERVICE: 2/5 AMBIANCE: 5/5 We walked in about 2.5 hours before closing. No hostess in sight, had to wait a bit. We sat at the same place as last time. I ordered the mango soda while hubby got a coke. Waitress took a long time to come back for our food order. I ended up getting the pineapple fried rice (my go to at a Thai restaurant) and hubby got the quack quack noodle soup. Food came out suspiciously quick. I'm talking 5 minutes. And this place was decently full (about 10 tables). Our drinks took longer! Service was EXTREMELY lacking. We needed napkins and our waitress never came to check on us while we were eating. Never asked how our food was (she didn't deliver the food either). My fried rice was just okay...it was not yellow like it usually is at other restaurants. Before trying the shrimp, I found several shrimp tails and pieces of shrimp "shells" in the rice (see picture). I know you can *technically* eat the shells but I didn't want to have them. It seemed like lazy plating. We waited around for a long time (30 minutes before closing!!) to flag down our waitress for the check. She was wrapping silverware and actively cleaning and ignoring us. We were given the check and then waited more time for her to take it. She cleaned 3 entire tables before even taking the check. Then she came with an electronic way to pay and crumpled up the receipt. It doesn't make sense. FOOD/DRINK: -Mango Soda - Absolutely wonderful!! Fresh mango on top and a flower as well. Not too sweet. -Pineapple Fried Rice - Shrimp was rubbery. Tails were kept on, which was an inconvenience for a rice dish. A little too oily. Chicken was dry. Shells were found in the rice. -Quack Quack Noodle Soup - Duck was good, but the noodles were the very thin noodles, which made it hard to eat. Had some heat to it but didn't indicate spicy on the menu. Way too much broth to noodle/duck ratio. Unfortunately, there are way too many Thai places for us to come back. I really LOVED the atmosphere (very Instagram worthy) but the food and service lacked after just MONTHS after opening. Three of use enjoyed dinner here. The place is beautifully decorated and modern, with comfortable seating. We started with the duck roll and dumplings. Both very good. I wish the duck roll was crispier, tho. I enjoyed my drunken noodles. Perfect amount of heat. It usually has baby corn in it. Their's did not. The mango sticky rice was excellent! Atmosphere was quite nice and the waitress are very attentive and helpful. Most thai restaurant do not offer crispy fluffy Catfish salad and even if they do, they use GREEN APPLE. But here they serve with shredded green mango which is bery AUTHENTIC! (except missing cashew nut ;-) ) It remind me of my days in Thailand and taste so delicious!.
