Thai BBQ is one of my favorite foods, so I decided to try the Carson location. We arrived around 7:30 PM and were told they closed at 8:30, with the kitchen closing at 8:15. I understood and told them we would be quick. From the beginning, I felt rushed while ordering. When my beef satay arrived, it looked fine on top, but the bottom was clearly burnt and tasted burnt. When I politely told the server, he became defensive and argued that "that's how the grill is supposed to look." At that point, I lost my appetite and asked for my Pad Thai to go. If they didn't want to take dine-in customers that close to closing, I would have completely understood. But accepting us and then rushing us and arguing over burnt food made the experience very disappointing.

Stopped by for dinner on a Friday evening. I had the chicken sa-te dinner which was overall lackluster. The chicken itself was fine but I have had many better sa-tes. It came with a large side of shrimp fried rice - the rice tasted pretty plain (but tinted pink) and had just two shrimps. I did love the cucumber salad/dip and peanut dipping sauces. I felt that the price around $21 was a bit steep but it did come with 8 skewers which was a hearty portion so that helped balance the price. Many of these reviews mention bad service. My service was totally good! Our server was attentive and nice, no issues. Overall, nothing really wowed me enough to return but it was good enough.

Came in for a high school lunch reunion. We had reserved tables and ordered several dishes. The servings were huge and full of flavor. The tom yum soup had a nice balance of sourness and spice. The green papaya salad with mango was refreshing. The barbecue chicken with shrimp fried rice was tender and came with honey sauce. The garlic spare rib was garlicky. The gulf of Siam was a seafood delight. The beef pad see ew had was not chewy nor sticky. All of our dishes were under $20. They even have weekday lunch specials.

1.00 for a tiny portion of cucumber - wow!

I came here by accident and it was ok. I did like the decor and the chairs were very comfortable! When I arrived there was only one person dining. That always makes me nervous but I've been to a chain location before. Anyway I ordered they were quick and food was ok. Problem was rice was actually cold. I had the chicken satee and the chicken was so dry and hard. I asked for another cucumber sauce and mind you it was tiny. To my surprise I was charged 1.00. Really? You charge extra for a few cucumber chunks ?? That's very petty and ridiculous!

I'm surprised they haven't closed this place down yet. The service is a -1/10. Called to place an other but they couldn't understand over the phone so I went there in person and the host/waiter was rude when I pointed out which one I wanted off the menu. Please see the picture below. Food: has gone from a 4/5 to 2/5. Ambiance: simple

So i am a bit confused about the photos here, because there is an actual restaurant looking place,…read moresome little cart and a food truck. Hopefully they are all related. My review is based on the food truck. It was my son's birthday. He was allowed to chose anything he wanted for dinner. Any price point... anything. Well i had seen this on Instagram and shared it with him two weeks prior. At first he wanted to go to Nobu or there were a few other high end options, but that is not his style honestly. Luckily, he remembered the post that I shared. He wanted to go here. Well, buckle up kids, we are going on a field trip! We left work/schools early and took a drive to Compton. When our navigation said we had arrived it suggested we park in the lot across from the library. Ok. There directly in front of the library was the food truck. There was a small line, so that was ideal. Not a long wait. My other smaller human and i went to wash their hands in the library. When i came out he had ordered the hungry man or something. It was more than enough for us. The oxtail was good. The ribs were good. The chicken was good. The cornbread was yummy. Just not over the moon for the greens... and i loooove collard greens. But that's ok. We went for the meats. They were out of the dinosaur ribs, so maybe if we go early enough next time, we can try those. We took it across the street to the park and ate and that was enough time for the small one to also play to get energy out before we headed home. The drive home was long, now that rush hour traffic had started. But none of us complained, because the meal was worth it.

Going down the list of dishes we shared: - Soy Garlic Wings: Crispy, crunchy, succulent meat, and tasty flavor. - Gangjeong Wings: Same as the soy garlic wings, but with added heat. Love the added spiciness! - Cheesling Boneless Wings: Crispy and crunchy texture covered with sweet and cheesy powder. Super yummy! - Rose Ddeok-Bokki: Loved the soft rice cakes in the creamy and spicy sauce. I would literally pay for the sauce alone. Adding cheese is a must. - Kimchi Fried Rice: Full of meat and flavorful. A great paring with the chicken. - Cheeseballs: Love these sweet, chewy, and cheesy balls. I need to buy more of these next time! The service here was great and the staff were nice and attentive. There was outside seating available which was nice and relaxing. A complimentary self-serve water station and a bathroom were available as well. For parking, there's a free lot in front. Overall, a great experience here! I would come back regularly if I lived in the area.

The service was smooth, friendly and efficient. They check on you just enough to make you feel cared for, but not enough to make you wonder if they're trying to adopt you. Respectfully attentive, the way all service should be. Now let's talk food, because this place had me rethinking my bellies choices. The spicy beef soup pulled up like a warm hug from someone who also isn't afraid to roast you. Flavorful, comforting, and spicy enough to remind you you're alive. The beef ox tongue, wow ..listen. If you've never had tongue that melts like butter and grills up with that perfect little snap, this place will convert you. I was out here chewing like I was signing a peace treaty. The prime rib‑kalbi was so juicy and tender I almost apologized to it for eating it. Almost. The kimchi came in hot with the tangy attitude, balancing everything like the responsible friend in the group chat. And the raw beef tartare. So delicious and clean, fresh, and seasoned like it went to culinary private school. I took one bite and immediately felt like I should be wearing a fancy watch. Overall, Sei‑Ko‑En is cozy, clean, delicious, and unintentionally comedic, because every dish had me making faces I hope nobody recorded. A must‑visit for anyone who loves Japanese BBQ with Korean soul and a side of "wow, I didn't know food could do that." Exploring great food, one bite at a time! Miguel C.

This restaurant opened over 40 years ago in the 1980s. They have not changed their seasonings or recipes since then. A lot of their sauces and kimchee is made in house (and has not changed in over 40 years). This is probably the best Japanese BBQ experience I've ever had and I've had A LOT of BBQ experiences. My favorites are items you typically cannot get anywhere else. Their raw beef liver sashimi and their raw minced beef are amazing. It's really hard to find these creations. If you like liver, then you'll be an instant fan. If you're a little squeamish then you can always grill it a bit before you eat it lol Their cuts of meat are also a league above the rest. I loved them all! Their wagyu tongue, negi tongue, gokujo kalbi, tokujo ro-su, and pork belly are all worth writing home about. They also serve vegetables and salad to go with the BBQ. We also tried their yukkejan soup which is their spicy beef soup. It was very tasty. Savory and not too salty. Very well balanced. I'd eat this alone on a cold rainy day. The ambiance is busy with moderate noise. Lots of Japanese locals were there that night and were simply having an amazing time socializing. Overall 10/10. Definitely coming back!
