Had a chance to try their BBQ at Sugar Monkey Brewing. The brisket and sausage was excellent. Definitely recommend.

I will say that I do think there should be a slight price difference if you don't opt to get ice cream with the funnel cake, but it was still delicious. They have a lot to choose from. Fried Oreos (6 to an order for $12 I think it was) and they come in different flavors/toppings and the funnel cakes come in small ($16) and large ($19) with different flavors as well (like banana split, Oreo, smores, strawberry, etc.). The large is great for sharing, but the small is more than enough for one person in my opinion. SERVICE: Stunning. I got the funnel cake within 3 minutes of me paying. Absolutely gorgeous service and super friendly! VIBE: It's a pop up. Very cute pink tent and you can see everything being done. Would definitely get some treats again.

Never tried Filipino food until today, and now I can see why everyone has been raving about it…read more Seems like a mom and pop shop, and the hospitality and service here is great. The employee at the front provided me some samples to taste before I made a decision and she got me hooked! I walked in wanting a two combo plate, but after sampling the pork sisig, adobo chicken, and the breakfast sausage, I had to make it a three combo (ended up with a lot of food leftover). Personally, I really enjoyed the pork sisig: it was juicy and packed a whole bunch of flavor, especially from the vinegar which canceled out the greasiness. The sausage was surprisingly really good, not too sweet and had a nice garlicky flavor. It'd pair well with a bowl of hot rice and a fried egg in the morning. I got a sample of a soup (can't remember the name), but it had a nice sour taste to it as well (not overly sour though). I definitely will come back again if I am in the area for the pork sisig and the service!

Unlike other joints, they seem to limit their daily offerings to about 10-12 dishes. Which means food doesn't sit on the warmer for too long. The portions are generous and the food was delicious! If you've been to a popular BBQ place in the South, you're no stranger to the lines. I've been to APL at two pop-up locations: Ayara Thai in Westchester & Gin Rummy in MDR/Venice. The latter (and current) location, Gin Rummy, has seating, so it's a better experience. Ayara is a Michelin-listed Thai place, but Chef Adam was serving out of the back & there was no seating. So far, Ive tried the burnt ends (9/10), beef ribs (9/10), lamb chops (9/10), and pork ribs (7.5/10). To put this in perspective, I would not score any of these items anywhere else in L.A. higher than a 7/10. Yes, some of the sauce can be overly-sweet, but the craftsmanship that goes into smoking the meat is unparalleled in L.A. And, yes- I have a charcoal smoker at home and make decent brisket and ribs. As other reviewers have mentioned, prices are high, portions are large, and there's almost always a wait, so best to go with a party of 4 or larger so that you can sample more of the menu. And, they should add one more order kiosk and add one more person to cut the meat in order to move the line quicker. I could eat this BBQ every week. Bon Appétit!

Every bite felt like it was made with passion and precision. Chef Adam isn't just making BBQ, he's creating art. Amazing food, great presentation, and a fantastic experience from start to finish. Highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.

So if you think you're going to casually stroll in around lunchtime and grab a table... good luck lol. Now for the important part -- the seafood! The crab was SO fresh and absolutely delicious. The bad: the food/order pick-up system for items that need to be grilled/fried is chaotic. You're given a number to pick up your order by the cashier and directed to the pick up window. There is someone assigned to the grill area and a different person handles the side dishes. There does not appear to be any system of communication between the two areas such that the protein is held under the heat lamp area until the other person adds the side dish (fries, coleslaw, etc) to complete the order. To make things even more chaotic, the staff does not consistently call out numbers when to food is ready for pickup. Instead, the customers crowd the pick up area calling out their own order numbers to see if it's ready. The staff is nice and they seem to try their best overall, but their current system needs to be improved.
