After the first time I came here I was hooked! The food is delicious and is great authentic Thai food. My go-to's are the basil fried rice and Thai tea. The Panag Curry is also delicious. This used to be one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Md. Everything you ordered was fabulous. Alas, it seems they are either under new management, or they have a new cook. The menu is completely different. We went there the other day only to find that my favorite dish (pictured) is no longer on the menu, no problem we ordered anyway. We ordered 2 seafood dishes, and it didn't taste fresh. The coconut soup was watery instead of milky. It was just a night and day difference from what it used to be. So anytime I came up to Waldorf I just kept passing it by. Well off the late night I stopped into @thaipalacemd at 2732 Crain Hwy., Waldorf M.D....I'm glad I did!! . . . Oh OK so this place has a very broad menu, so here we go. Appetizers include Satay chicken (a curry coconut skewered chicken), Breaded butterfly shrimp, and Spring rolls. They have soups like hot and sour soup, Your standard garden salads, and Curries that come with rice like their Panang Red Curry. They have stir-fry entrées like the Pad Basil, noodle entrees like their Drunkard Noodles, and Chef specials like Crispy Duck Kra Prao. Ok they have a spice level system (from Not hot-4 Warning!!). First I excitedly copped their 3 piece deep fried Curry Puffs (pictured with chicken, onion, potato, & mixed vegetables $8.95) as my appetizer. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! The food is decent but severely overpriced. shrimp fried rice (6 pieces) is $25. Let's be real, it's rice, egg and peas. The lady who is the waitress there, she's ok. Not too friendly, but not overly rude. Just there. The facility is okay, but I've noticed that EVERY time I go, there is an AWFUL smell that permeates from the bathroom and meanders it's way to the bar and booths. Specifically on the left side of the establishment. that is not a nice smell to ingest when I'm trying to eat. They may want to have their sewer line pumped, replaced or inspected. It should not be smelling THAT bad, even with the worst case of food poisoning, upset stomach or the runs. Please do something about that, then lower them prices a bit. Best Thai spot we've found so far. It's got a local feel, with staff appearing to recognize regulars. The interior is well decorated and clean, great for date night. The booths have tables which can be moved to accommodate a bigger tummy, and the tables have sturdy chairs without arms. Full bar and varied menu, with great tasting food! I'm a huge fan of Thai food and Thai culture and this place (for those who are interested) offers a little of both if you take the time to talk to staff. Tam and the other staff provide a very friendly and accommodating service with the feel of family owned restaraunt. I recommend the drunken noodles. We came across this restaurant when looking for a quick spot to eat. The interior was ehhhh and the seats are extremely uncomfortable at the booths so we typically sit at the bar or table. This was me and my husbands first time eating Thai food. Yelp had great reviews so we decided to go. Thai Palace did not disappoint. We got a variety of items. Everything amazing and fresh. Our server was very attentive and answered all of our questions. The bathroom was very clean just a little smell going down the hall. All of the servers had their mask on and I appreciated that. First time came with my son to meet my cousin I have not seen in about 20 years. This place was chosen as a compromise between where we each lived. My son is ordering the Thai Beef Steak and I think I will go for the Wild Chicken. The food was excellent. From time to order till the table took no time. Now my one criticism was that it lacked the spicy taste I like. Though they provided sauces at the table I prefer that it comes out with a twang. Oh yes the outside of the restaurant is deceiving. It is quite small and only takes reservations for parties of 5 or more. So the first come first served seating can be a problem. Our waitress kept my glass of water full. Ok where do I start? First of all the portions are very generous. Thai Iced Tea was on point. I got a large and got a huge bucket lol. I started off with the butterfly shrimp appetizer. Nothing too special about it but it was good nonetheless. Main dish I got the wild chicken and it's described as spicy but I wouldn't necessarily call it spicy at all. On a spice scale of 1 to 5 I'd give it a soft 1. Not complaining about that at all it was VERY good. Finished up with mango and sticky rice. Loved loved LOVED it. I always have to ask for more coconut sauce when I go to other places but I didn't have to here. Overall, just amazing. I'll be back for sure. Thai Palace is a favorite of mines. The food is great and the drink menu is creative. Consistency is what keeps me coming back to a restaurant and after 4 years of coming here, Thai Palace is CONSISTENT. My two favorite dishes are the Pad Basil and the Pad Prik Khing. Any time I've decided to try something outside of those two dishes I was not disappointed! The serving amount is generous and you will have enough for left overs...but I'm telling you, it's so good even when you say you're done you'll keep digging you fork in for one more taste. Warning!* Some of their dishes have a spice rating of 1-4. Please believe the rating system!! I'm a punk when it comes to spicy foods so I use to get my Pad Basil at a 0.5 (lol) and after a while I just said forget the spice . My husband on the other hand loves a challenge and was going to get a 2 the very first time we went. The waitress warned him and he lowered it to a 1. Good thing because he said it was HOT and it had to be because he was sweating! The service is always good. They bring out your drinks and food quickly, and they are not rushing you out the door. On many occasions I've gone with my husband or girlfriends and we've sat around laughing and having a good time without anyone telling us we had to go, and honestly that's a good sign to me of good food when people are so relaxed that they don't leave right away. read more

This is a cute little Thai spot in Waldorf. The space isn't very large, which gives it a cozy vibe. And the door slams crazy loud. We had the drunkard (drunken) noodles with beef and the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and chicken ( if you order it with shrimp then add the chicken you get more shrimp, thank me later). We also had the dumplings and spring rolls. Everything was good, but on the blander side in terms of dynamic Thai flavor. Something to note is that the drunkard noodles were a spicy level 2, which was super spicy, so a level 1 would've sufficed. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. I've come here two different times now as my partner lives in the area. As someone who loves Thai food, this place has easily become one of my favorite spots. First, the staff are so friendly whether in person or by phone (did an order for pick up and one to go). Second, the food was fresh, tasty and decent portion size. Lastly, unlike other Thai or other restraints, the spice levels are real and the 4 (which is the highest slice level), is REALLY spicy. They have a written warning in the register and the staff mention it if you are in person. Look forward to returning! read more
