I've been dining at Papaya Garden since the first week it opened its door for business. Friendly servers & owners. They always make my family, including my 4-year-old son, feel welcomed. Coupled with all their wonderful, healthy dishes, I never think twice to bring friends & family to dine here. From Sushi to Thai fried rice to duck-over-rice and from coconut dink to Thai tea to watermelon+boba drink - all are authentic, decadent & luscious items from their menu. Another favorite is their mango over sweet rice, yummy! Pete & Kim are terrific owners and they always offer their warmest, welcoming smiles the second you enter this restaurant. I've eaten Thai all over the metroplex, and this spot has worked its way in as my favorite. The menu is absolutely massive, and I haven't had a single item that wasn't completely spot on. The heat is a little I the light side though, and I always have to order a level 5 spice. The staff is very friendly. They even have vegan/vegetarian options if that's your thing. The green curry is the best I've ever had, and Tom Kha soup will 'cute' just about any cold if you're feeling down. I highly recommend this place. read more

There pork rolls are okay, what makes them good is that they are fresh. I ordered the spicy beef salad which was average. My husband ordered the fried rice which was also JUST average. My son ordered sweet and sour chicken and we honestly were not thrilled with the food. The environment is not kid friendly, the service is good. The place is just overall okay. My friend and I went here because we wanted Thai and it got some really good reviews on yelp. Out waiter immediately started rushing us along to order the second we sat down even though the restaurant was not very busy. Every time we asked our server a question he seemed annoyed. We ordered to fried shrimp and sushi roll for an appetizer. The sushi was very good and the shrimp were fine. We were pretty excited for the food because we enjoyed the sushi roll so much, but we were sadly disappointed. My shrimp and chicken pad Knan had way to much garlic and left me wishing I could just give back my meal and eat sushi all night. My friend had the fried duck in honey sauce and it wasn't bad but wasn't good either... Just ok. read more

During my lunch break I had the wonderful opportunity to try the Eel Avocado Roll and the Mango with sweet rice. They were both very good! The Sweet rice didn't really travel very well, but it was still very good. I will defiantly eat here again. read more

I cannot say enough about how awesome this restaurant is! I've been going for years and honestly, everything on the menu is fantastic! The food is fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The girl that works the front and usually takes the call in orders, she may be the owner, is especially awesome, but all the staff is really great. I recently discovered they have delivery and although I'm not super close to their location, they deliver to my address. Usually, even if a restaurant is really great, to-go orders and delivery just don't come home as great as how they are in the restaurant, but theirs does. Perfect every time! read more

We eat here 3-4 times a month. The Kao soi is very good. Spring rolls are great. They have really good sushi. EVERYTHING is great here!

The Panang curry was delicious! There was lots of veggies and meat. I asked for carrots, and it's was $1 extra, which is fine. Rice does not come with the meal and is $2 extra. The price is a little misleading, but when you compare it to other this places you are essentially paying the same. The service was quick as well. read more

The price is right, the food is very good, and it's never too busy where you have to wait for a seat. Late to take our order and only refilled half the waters on the table and at the end the lady threw our 4 separate bills on the table. We had to sort through and figure out who's was who's. I love this place. I usually order through Grubhub. I had the Massimo on curry and you can get it non-spicy, and the papaya sticky rice is fantastic! This place never disappoints me but I'd rather eat at home instead of in the restaurant. I think it's just a personal preference. read more

Great for lunch whether you're with one friend or in a group of ten. Food is tasty (my fav is the Kao Soi), staff is efficient and the prices are on the right side of double digits :) One small complaint though - it's time to change the menus. Those metal figurines are lethal. read more

While the menu is very large, all of the food is great. The soups are some of the best I have ever had.

This place was not good. $42 for two orders of pad thai noodle and an order of curry. Chicken in pad thai was thin, dry, and tasteless. Curry portion was very small considering the price. Rice was even bad....how do you screw up rice? So disappointing. Lots of family and friends of owners hanging around so the positive reviews must be from them because the food is not good. read more

One of the best places I've eaten at in the DFW metroplex! I've ordered over 10 items on the menu and they've all been perfect. You cannot go wrong. The last time I went there was a little language barrier between the waitress and I but the other wait staff were very helpful when she was slacking. I mostly order the pad kee mow, beef pho, and spring rolls with shrimp. My husband loves their sushi. Hope you enjoy! read more

Delish! Pad Thai with tofu was excellent. If you like it spicy then for sure order "Thai spicy". Otherwise it may not be spicy enough for you. I normally always go medium on the spicy and I could have gone hotter. My husband felt the same way about his papaya salad. read more

I read a pretty good review in the Star-Telegram, so I finally decided to give this place a try. It's a store front in a small strip mall that's part of a larger strip mall complex. It's very clean and quiet inside, and while the decor might be a little trite, the staff is friendly and quite efficient. Drinks are refilled promptly and generously, and dirty plates are cleared away quickly. A few might have trouble with English, but they're friendly and eager to please. Everyone has a smile on their face. The large-screen TV at one end of the room is an odd touch, but it's muted with closed captioning, so it tends to stay in the background. As for the food, I haven't had a bad meal yet, and I eat here pretty regularly (a few times a month). The menu is huge, which makes you worry that they're trying to do too much, but then you taste the food and realize that's not the case. Everything arrives at the table piping hot. Rice usually comes molded in the shape of a star or a heart, and most dishes are garnished with pretty carrot butterflies. The pad kee mow is a favorite, and I love their tom kha soup. All the curries are very good. While the fresh spring rolls could have some more crunch and flavor to them, the fried rolls are always hot and crispy. I recently had a basil eggplant dish that was excellent (topped with a huge handful of crispy basil leaves). I have a big appetite, and I've never left here hungry. In fact, I'm usually too full to try a dessert, but the fried bananas are intriguing. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who would like a nice, quiet dinner with great Thai food, efficient service, and good price for the size and quality of each dish. read more

This has to be the best Thai/Asian restaurant in the Mid Cities area. My Wife and I have eaten here several times, trying something new each visit. We usually get take out to enjoy dinner at home, but the times we have eaten in the restaurant ws enjoyable, even though the wide screen TV can be distracting. The spring rolls are yummy, and thier egg rolls are tasty. Recently I had the pork Pho noodle soup and it was very good, with a rich soup broth and fresh rice noodles, sprouts and lettuce, and a lime wedge. The sauces add a nice zing , but watch out for the spicy red pepper sauce, a little goes a long way unless you like your pho with a lot of heat. The Bangkok Duck is really scrumptuous. I had the "soft duck" that was roasted instead of battered and fried in the "crispy" style. Generous portions of veggies, and a sweet brown sauce make this a great dish for those who enjoy gamey smokey taste of duck. The menu includes lots of seafood options as well as the ussual pork, chicken, beef and vegetarian main courses. Eleven different soups, and ten salads plus an assortment of desserts round out a very big menu. The prices are inexpensive, ranging from $8 to $14 entrees and salads and soups for $5 to $12. After reading all of the great reviews, I really expected to be in for a treat at Papaya Garden. Boy, was I disappointed. The decor is garish and quite a put-off. Tacky plastic crap all over the place. The menu had far too many choices, but I did like that there were photos of several of the items. The Tom Kha soup was very good, but that's the only thing that was good. The spring rolls were extra greasy and they made the worst tofu pad thai I've ever had. I can't remember what my husband ordered, but it had some sort of brown gravy-like sauce and was mediocre at best. We won 't be going back or recommending this place to any of our friends. read more

I brought my 3-year old son with me to try this place last night, and I was a little apprehensive about being able to order something he would eat. They have a good little kids' menu including sweet & sour chicken ($5.95). Since he eats chicken nuggets/tenders at most other restaurants I ordered that for him. They brought little asian-style chicken nuggets out with sauce in a little dish on the side, some steamed veggies/fruit, and steamed rice. There was a little umbrella stuck in his rice pile for him to play with, which was awesome. For adults, they have a VERY extensive menu! There are SO many delicious-looking dishes, it was hard to choose. My absolute favorite Thai dish is vegetarian green curry ($10), so that's what I ordered for comparison's sake. The menu has pictures of almost every dish, so I knew exactly what I was going to get. They brought a little side salad first with a peanut-vinegar dressing?? It was surprisingly delicious! I'm not a huge salad fan, but i ate it all! Shortly after, we had our food and the green curry was the best, easily beating the other 7 Thai food restaurants' versions that I've tried. It's location is perfect for too, right off 183 and 157/Industrial. It's safe to say I will probably be eating there once a week and I don't eat out very much. read more
