I stopped by for some appetizers and now I can't wait to be back to try the rest of the menu. The Thai iced tea was sweet and so refreshing, it has to be one of my favorite Thai iced teas in Nashville. The appetizer sampler is amazing and a great option to share with friends. It brings two veggie spring rolls, 4 skewers of satay chicken, and 4 chicken & shrimp dumplings. They also bring you different sauces to pair with each item and as a sauce lover this was my favorite part of the meal. We also tried the crab cakes & the shrimp spring rolls. First of all, I'm going to give them another try. We ordered delivery: dumplings, pad see ew, and Panag curry. The flavor was good, I should gotten it spicier, but I am always conservative when I try a new Thai spot (that's not their fault, I ordered it that way.) My complaint is the portions, they were so SMALL! The curry had about a tablespoon of liquid in it. The dumplings were tasty but they're tiny and they only give you four. I think I'll go back in person and see if the portions were better. By the time you paid for delivery and tip it was $55 and we were both still hungry. read more

I got the fried rice with shrimp, which cost extra, were tasteless, and only came with 5 shrimp in the whole thing. The rice was also extremely mushy and soggy. After months of their renovation, I met with a couple of friends for lunch. Gone is the ambience of the former Siam. I thought the food was mediocre. There wasn't any carpet or anything to absorb sound so it's a nightmare for folks with any hearing loss. There is now a large, tall counter to order food from--cafeteria style. No more wait staff. The counter is high with no part that is lower for people who are wheelchair users. Seems like folks with disabilities aren't valued or wanted. So much for the requirements of the Americans with Disability Act! When my friends can't go to places, I don't go either. It's too bad. The former Siam Cafe was a "go-place" for us and our friends. I was craving Asian food today, but my friend/coworker is very picky about what kind of Asian food he eats. I give him a pass because he's Caucasian and you can't expect everyone to like all Asian food. I think being Korean myself, I'm genetically programmed to like all Asian food. So today, I suggested Thai food over ramen/sushi/Vietnamese/Korean/Japanese and he said OK. I was going to go to Thai Esane, which seems the popular spot for Thai in the downtown area, but after seeing the reviews on both Yelp & Google... I decided not to go there. Simply because the comments on the food & price varied considerably. I mean who wants to pay $20 for a dish I can probably get at a legit "hole-in-the-wall" Thai restaurant? After a quick search for Thai places that were not Thai Esane, I settled on Siam Cuisine because it was the most promising. Arriving to the White Bridge neighborhood, Siam Cuisine was tucked away in an office building. It's quite big for what it is, but with it being a time of the year where traffic is cut in half, there weren't that many patrons. When I eat Thai, I always get Pad Thai or some type of curry. I know that's what I like and I'm afraid to stray from that. Maybe it was the rainy weather, but I was craving a soup & curry that day. I ended up with the Tom Kha Gai Soup (cup for $3) as an appetizer. Chicken poached in coconut milk and loaded with onions, mushrooms, green onions, lime juice, and silver galangal (Thai ginger). The soup was very strong and pungent. I think it had to come from the fish sauce, which is used in a lot of Asian cuisine. Despite the fishy smell, man was it delicious. The coconut milk made it sweet, the fish sauce made it salty, the lime juice made it sour. It's a very complex soup and with all the meat and veggies, it was absolutely filling. For my entrée, I selected the lunch portion ($9) of the Kang Ped (red curry) with pork meat. Spicy curry sauce, coconut milk, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, mushrooms, peas, carrots, and basil leaves are loaded into a bowl. There's a lot to love about Thai curry and this one doesn't disappoint. It's sweet, it's spicy, it's hearty, it's filling. On top of all that food, 2 vegetarian spring rolls came with the lunch entrée. Excellent, authentic Thai food is what Siam Cuisine offers. Not only is this place super affordable (I can't tell you the last time I got this much quality food for $12), but you could technically eat here for under $10 (sans the soup). I'll definitely come back to this spot for future lunch adventures! read more

I was a long time regular here for years until the recent closing and renovation/reopening. My favorite dish was Hung Ray with chicken, native Thai. Sadly, the new version of this restaurant does not have it on the menu. I ordered the red curry and was sadly disappointed. Nothing special. We went for lunch. No longer do you get a small soup with a spring roll as part of the lunch. Instead, it just the curry which is way too much for a lunch and for a dinner size price. Not crazy about the service (or lack thereof) either. Just someone at the counter taking orders. I remember the former owner stopping by our table to visit from title to time. Essentially, everything that made the old place special has been stripped away. Overpriced for lunch and underwhelming. I miss the old Siam Cuisine! read more

One of my go to spots for Thai food in Nashville. It's tasty, quick, and affordable. I was craving some good Thai food so I ordered some take out and was not disappointed. The Pad Thai was tasty as usual. The Spicy Eggplant was my next favorite dish - a good mix of vegetables with a perfect level of spice. The Pad Ka Prao was just alright - chicken seemed a bit dry but the flavor was good. Cons: it's a little weird that they used Italian spaghetti noodles for the Thai noodles. It just didn't taste the same. It's like using vermicelli noodles for Italian meatball pasta, or using chopsticks to eat a hamburger. Even though the flavor was good , the texture is just not the same. Also their egg rolls are tiny at $1.50 each I would think they at least make them a regular size instead of mini egg rolls. I would probably try other Thai places before ordering from here again. However I know it's the pandemic and restaurants are struggling so I gave higher ratings than normal to show some support. read more

Our last meal in Nashville was an authentic family run That restaurant. The restaurant was socially distanced and service was prompt. I had Kow Soy and my wife had green chilli on rice. Siam Cuisine is a small, modest Thai restaurant in West Nashville off of White Bridge Road in a little shopping center. The parking lot is a bit tight but was fine when I came on a weekday. Although I ordered takeout and did not dine in I noticed that the ambiance is nice and has traditional Thai decor. I would definitely try eating in sometime since it did have a nice feel to the space. Their lunch specials are served from 11:30 am-2:30 pm and are $6.95 for your choice of entree served with 2 fried spring rolls and a cup of soup. I got chicken panang curry as my entree with brown rice (they didn't charge me extra for brown instead of white like other places do) which to my delight had a lot of chicken in the dish. When I called my order in I realized I forgot to tell them the spice level I wanted so I panicked when I got the dish thinking it would be too spicy. However, it was a medium to mild level of spice so it was actually perfect. The spring rolls were pretty typical of any place but I did like the soup. It was almost like a chicken noodle soup without the noodles--just chicken with celery and carrots in a broth which is simple but comforting. Service was great. When I called in they said it would be 10 minutes and when I got there they went to the back to get it and it was ready. The cashier was so sweet and they seem really nice there. They are very polite so I imagine that dining in the service would also be good. Overall great experience even if just for takeout. The food and service were great, the curry tasted authentic and I would return. read more

This is some of the best Thai food available. I have no clue why past me rated this a 3. Clearly I had suffered head trauma or dehydration or something. I've been to this place a few dozen times over the last decade and I wish I lived closer. All the curries are great, massaman is a personal favorite. You may think that the Pad Thai seems like boring choice, but you're very wrong. Get it spicy with shrimp or tofu (imo) and try your hardest to not eat it all. Because leftovers are amazing. The appetizers are so good you could easily eat just them. And then you might have leftovers. Don't think I haven't tried this exact plan myself. I'm going to have to drive to Nashville just to go to Siam. read more

My BF and I have our typical order: chicken green curry 5/5 spicy, chicken pad thai 2/5 spicy, and vegetable tom kha soup. We swung by this location to try some take out, and the interior is very cute! Nicely decorated space off White Bridge, and they had some tasty looking specials as well. My green curry was more like 4/5 spicy with some parts of it hot, others a 3/5 spice. But I LOVED the flavor, it tasted like they had a lot of chilis in it. The pad thai was just ok. It had no spice at all, along with not much flavor. Meh. The tom kha soup was excellent; the veggies were cooked perfectly and it was just right! I would give them a 3.5 stars but rounded down because they didn't have the spice right and the pad thai wasn't great. But I am looking forward to giving them another shot! read more

I came here for Saturday lunch. The interior has beautiful paintings, room dividers, and other Asian decor. There was one waitress attending to 4 tables (including ours). Even though we asked for refills many times, she only refilled our water once. My bf and I got the red curry with beef and the kao soi noodles. The red curry was disappointing. It didn't have much spices, was watery, and was saltier than most frozen TV dinner foods. I love putting sauce on my white rice, but didn't do that with this curry bc of how salty it was. Additionally, it seemed like the cook barely put coconut milk in it. There were a lot of pieces of beef, so that somewhat made up for the lack of flavor and texture in the curry. The kao soi was the redeeming factor. It was a soupy curry dish with chewy rice noodles the width of fettuccine, chicken, bean sprouts, scallions, cilantro, pickled mustard leaves, crunchy egg noodles, AND A LOT OF SPICE. I experienced tingling in my lips from eating this. The kao soi awakened the spicy, savory, sour (from the mustard leaves), and sweet parts of my tongue's tastebuds. I really enjoyed slurping the noodles. I ordered some slightly sweet thai tea mixed with condensed milk to wash down this heat. This is probably not a dish for people who aren't too adventurous or are not fond of spicy food. One complaint I have is that the waitress told me all food on the weekends was dinner price only after I had already told her our initial 3 orders. We wanted to get another dish but the dinner prices were kind of expensive. I wish the discrepancy in pricing was specified on the menu, when we walked in, or when we were seated. Ordered weekday lunch to go. The food was prepared very quickly, and by the time we arrive restaurant food was ready for us to pick up (less than 10 min). Ordered lunch combo Pad Thai and Massaman Curry, and Tom Yam Koon for the extra soup. Both of them came with soup and egg roll. Soup was in small container, and wrapped with plastic to prevent spill. We chose the spice level for the curry medium, it was just enough heat for us. Not only it was just spicy, it had very good taste into it. So we really enjoyed. Pad Thai had a lot of chicken!! One of must have Thai cuisine, and it's very close to what we have eaten in Thailand. The owner seems Thai, and all the food we have tried there really represent good Thai food. Been here three times, and I have had the Thai Basil Fried Rice and the Green curry each time. The Green curry is consistently good and flavorful with an even spice level. It had brocolli that was a little squishy, but they also added cabbage, which was a very good addition. It did not have the usual squash, but it had a pleasant, complex, creamy flavor. Having had many green curries from many thai restaurants, this place's green curry does it right. The thai basil fried rice with shrimp with their highest spice level, to my palate, is not very spicy. However, this restaurant does offer fish sauce which pulls together the flavor well. Compared to most nearby thai restaurants, I personally think it is the best. I wish they would make it spicier. I've gotten the pad thai add shrimp or chicken and it's just not fresh... the noodles are always cut up really choppy to where you can't even swirl them. The veggies are mushy. We visited on a Sunday evening. There were about 4 other filled tables other than ours. There was someone ahead of us for a pickup order. There were people picking up and calling in orders through our whole visit. This was already a promising sign. We waited less than 5 minutes to be seated. There were three of us having dinner. Our water was never empty through the meal, our server was very attentive. I went with the Kang Ped (red curry) with chicken and my two friends got the duck curry. My dish had a nice amount of chicken, curry saucy coconut milk, bell pepper, mushrooms, broccoli, fresh basil leaves, bamboo shoots and carrots, it came with a fluffy side of white rice. I got it 3 out of 5 spicy and it was fantastic! My fiancé and our friend both ordered the duck curry, one got 4 out of 5 spicy and the other got 3 out of 4 spicy. The duck was crispy, sautéed in a red curry sauce with pineapples and tomato. The curry sauce wasn't as thick as mine but it was sooo good! It also came with the house soup, salad, and choice of dessert between ice cream or fried bananas. The soup was a clear broth with some chicken, potato, carrots and celery, was a good start to the meal. The salad had what seemed like a creamy thousand island dressing on it. They opted for the fried bananas which looked like knuckle sized mini egg rolls filled with bananas and deep fried topped with honey and sesame seeds. The red curry and pad Thai are usually good baseline indications of how the rest of the menu will taste. My red curry was delicious, I have to come back to try their pad Thai next. There looked like a lot of great options on their menu. They did not skimp on the portions. My fiancé and I shared my dish and one of the duck curries. We were both extremely satisfied with our meals and had enough for leftover lunch the next day. The curry warmed up really well. The parking lot is a little cramped and small. There are signs that say there's more parking in the back. My car is small though so we were fine. The driveway is very steep and they are easy to miss if you are not looking for the sign. Consistently some of the best Thai food in town! I've dined in and had delivery from Siam Cuisine, and on each instance, the food is flavorful and delicious. We LOVE their larb - funky, pungent chicken with onion, cucumber and lettuce. The curries are all terrific,and the noodle dishes hit the spot! They aren't shy with heat and spice here, which suits me just fine, but if your palate is sensitive, I suggest asking them to dial down the warmth a bit to your liking. Had to drive five miles back to restaurant to get fourth dinnet. They offerrd no apologies for their own screw-up. First time, not great but I'll be back. There must be something good on the menu. They were busy. Some of the yelp pictures look good. First things first, the parking lot is difficult in it's layout and capacity. This feature made me go hmmm... I was told that you can't order dinner portions at lunch. Really? It's as if they're not trying to make money. So enlarging the portion is not worth the extra charge? Takes too much time? I don't get it. The Tom Kha Gai soup always varies from restaurant to restaurant. This version was creamy but not sour enough even though it was a little spicy at the bottom. I can't recommend the dish I had. Everything was prepared separately and met for the first time on the plate. Any noodle dish should be finished in the sauce so that the noodle can absorb some of the sauce. Simple technique, massive difference. I also ordered medium heat and the dish was served plain, no spice at all. This business of trying to talk the gringo out of spice is tiresome. Everywhere I go, "Are you sure?" I get they don't want it returned but still. Maybe if you order native Thai they should warn you. I'll try again. read more
