I brought up one of my favorite Mexican taco trucks and she told me about El Mas Chingon and their homemade tortillas. Hidden over on Canyon Lane, diagonally across the street from the Canyon Grill ( a really good place for ice cream shakes) is a bright green food truck serving some really good Mexican food. It's in the same parking lot as the West Slope liquor store and there happens to be a smaller coffee cart right next to it. $4 for a taco, $13 for burrito and $18 for the Mas Chingon torta which seems to have everything but the kitchen sink on it. They have the usual meat choices plus lengua, cabeza and fish options. My buddy got an asada burrito and the thing was gigantic. He's not exactly a small individual and he could not finish it. I wanted to try a few different meats and so I got tacos. Each taco came on a different type of tortilla. That was impressive in itself. All the tacos came with onions and radish and wedges of lime. They don't offer a taco plate with rice and beans and so I had to get those on the side and it was just regular black beans not refried beans. It didn't really matter it was all good. Their habanero salsa was slightly thicker than other salsas that I've had at food trucks in the area and it was really good. All three meets that I got, asada, lengua and pastor with pineapple on top were really, really good. The food came out pretty quickly and there were 3 tables under a tent for us to sit at right there. Everything was great and I can't wait to try more of it.
