We are in town to visit family and friends, staying at a hotel, longing for Thai food. We were thrilled with the food we ordered! Basil Fried Rice with BEAUTIFULLY prepared shrimp. So flavorful, great texture on the rice. We ordered mild spice, which a little much for me but my husband was well pleased. To complement the rice, we enjoyed Wrapped PRAWNS! The menu called them shrimp but they were lovely, tender prawns. A delicate pastry wrap, fried to a perfect crispness. The sweet chile sauce was nice. We also enjoyed the Pork Egg Rolls. Three just-the-proper sized rolls jam packed with pork, cabbage and some rice. As we had the food delivered, we cannot comment on the interior or necessarily the service. Ordered take out and I got the pad see yew. I was worried since it was a little pricey, but the portions are large and the food was exactly what I was looking for. The noodles and beef were savory and delicious. I ordered the hot spicy level and it had a very nice spice to it, perfect for me, too much for my fiancée who likes mild spice, but that's what we were hoping for! Decided to take a chance and try Thai Pepper for some Sunday night Thai takeout and it was amazing! We got the fresh spring rolls which were filled with fresh, flavorful vegetables and came with a homemade sauce. I also got the shrimp pad Thai and my fiance for the Pad See Yew with beef. Been looking for new restaurants to try every time I'm in town. Of course it's very difficult to not dine at the restaurants I already have an attachment to. So if opportunity allows I'll have to both. So I was delayed to try this restaurant by a couple of days but I'm so glad I was able to here and I order some take out so I can take back to my hotel. I'm a fan of the pineapple fried rice so I had to try their version. I paired it with shrimp and they use large shrimps, cashews,onions,diced carrots,pineapple and yellow curry. I requested some heat and I figured medium pice would be enough And I also order the Pad Thai with shrimp as well, same heat level. I have to say this is 1 of the best meals I've had in quite some time. The Pad Thai had the large shrimps ant the rice noodles were a little thicker and wider than the noodles I've been accustomed to. I really liked this version, the noodles had the aldente texture and I was worried the noodles would be mushy but the time I got back to the hotel. This place is a favorite of my friend's. It's tucked in a little strip mall just off 169, so you could miss it if you weren't looking for it. I ordered the Tom Kha, a yummy coconut-based soup. It was very tasty and filled with generous amounts of galangal, lemongrass, and lime leaves. (Truly, this was the most generous use of the aromatics I think I've ever encountered in this soup.) The tofu in the soup was fried to perfection, too. We appreciated the good service. In addition to being prompt and personable, waiter was knowledgeable about the items on the menu and was able to make a suggestion that would be suitable for my dietary restrictions, which brings me to an important point: be sure to mention any dietary restrictions to your server; it's not always clear from the menu whether a dish has gluten, seafood, etc. Vegetarians, vegans, and those with seafood allergies have limited options, but the options available are fresh and tasty! read more

I appreciate TPB. I haven't dined in but usually opt for take out. From what I hav encountered - the staff is nice enough and they are usually fairly prompt. Try the cream cheese roll things. Local tip: Get one of the noodle dishes as a take out, go next door and get your favorite canned beer (or wine), and enjoy shoveling your face at home without worrying about judgement from what your wearing #stretchypants or driving!! My little complaints are sometimes the noodles ARE super oily. Ick. ... and sometimes the spring rolls are dry (like they have been in the fridge pre-made for a bit of time). I know can't be on point every single time. For the most part, TPB seems like a decent gamble in the neighborhood for a solid dish. read more

100% do not recommend! Food was salty, vegetables were raw, chicken was dry. Also the mango juice was watered down. If I am spending $3 for juice, I would expect for it to not be 80% water. Cousins took me here on a hailing spring night. Place was empty when we came in. People were probably home due to bad weather. Place is cozy in side. Got the Thai iced tea to start. You know it's legit when they have the cream on top. I think it's coconut cream? It's one of the better Thai iced teas I've ever had. Maybe 1 or 2 max other places that was better than this place. Definitely get your own! 5/5. Just like most Thai restaurants, most entrees will come plain and you will need to add in meat. However, the price to add a protein here is much more reasonable than a lot of other Thai places I've been to. The portion I think is reasonable. Panang curry with chicken - I think chicken is best with this dish so I always get it. Very flavorful and rich. Comes with a small bowl of white rice. 5/5 Pad see yew with beef - also one of my favorite noodle dish. Also good and flavorful. Wish they had added more veggies. Would have been a big plus 4/5 Pineapple fried rice - I would say prob my least favorite entree tonight. It looks yummy and taste good as well but not the best I've had. Next time I will definitely have to try their basil fried rice which is my favorite. 4/5 They don't have condiments on the table so ask for some. I love chili oil with my food because I like it spicy. Service was great and fast but we were the only one there lol. There were 2 people working out front. I did take out. I ordered over the phone because i wanted to know about the special spring rolls sauce. I also ordered chix pad thai. I probably wont come back, the spring roll only had one shrimp cut in half and one small piece of chicken. It was all lettuce which had dark spots on it..yuk and the rice wrapper was broken. We are so fortunate to have this spot in our neighborhood! We have eaten most items on the menu and have never been disappointed.

We have lived in Bloomington for the past 14 years but never tried this. We now have and will not try it again. We got the veg spring rolls which was basically lettuce with a little carrot. The red curry with chicken was boiled chicken topped with peanut butter. The basil stir fry has very little beef and even less basil. The drunken noodles were the only redeeming dish. My wife and I were the only customers seated in their dining room. And we were the only ones there when we left a half hour later. That should have telegraphed something about this establishment's popularity. And we only saw three people come in for carry out. The dining area is nicely decorated and well furnished. But it was so cold I had to leave my coat on. I had the Thai broccoli stir fry with pork belly. The broccoli was warm, but nearly raw. The pork belly was unremarkable -- chewy and lacking flavor. My wife had a vegetable curry dish which she enjoyed. Still, with so many other Thai offerings in the metro area, we won't be back. read more

For a drink I got Thai milk tea, which was some of the best I've ever had. I would definitely come again! Medium heat is tolerable for someone like me who likes a little bit of spice without it being overpowering. we decide to try a new place and ventures to Thai Pepper tonite. It was quiet for a Saturday night with lots of open tables. Looks like they do a lot of take out here. The staff was very attentive and kind. We tried the tempura veggies with. a flavorful sweet sour sauce. They served a very large portion of amazingly delicious veggies with the thinnest layer of delectable batter! For entrees we tried the peanut curry with beef and the pineapple curry with chicken. Both were delicious! I have a low tolerance for heat and survived the mild curry with only a few tears. It was deliciously flavorful and I wish my Midwest-raised mouth could handle the heat better. But my wife got a good laugh watching me power thru it! would definately come back again but next time will order something with less spice. read more

It's like veggies (steamed but nearly raw) were put in, then chicken on top, and then the curry (very thick) was slopped over the veggies and chicken.
