One thing to make clear...I am no Thai food expert, so it's hard for me to critique the food on quality however, this is still my experience. I took my wife here...they seem to close really early, like mid-afternoon early. We got there right at closing time however they still took our orders, so kudos to them. My wife and I really weren't too sure on the food so we asked the waitress and we ordered based off her recommendations. We both ordered noodle bases dishes...did they taste how they're supposed to? Honestly not sure... however the cook on the pasta was perfect. The noodles didn't taste bland and they had good consistency. The beef that accompanied the noodles was nicely seasoned. The shining star on the menu which deserves 5 stars on its own was the fried banana. My wife had an urge for a dessert...and we decided to try out the fried banana...DYNAMITE. It was paired with ice cream...it was a perfect combination of sweet with some tartness, not to mention the contrast between the hot and cold of the ice cream with the banana. I told my wife I would come back just to have dessert any day of the week... If you haven't eaten Thai before but want to try it...this place is a definite must...right along with their fried banana dessert. Enjoy!

It was my first time visiting and it won't be my last! The restaurant is small but has a nice vibe to it. The server was quick to take our orders and very attentive too! I went with their N3. Chicken Pad Sew Iew, chili level 2. They offer other options such as beef, shrimp, tofu and pork. I got chili level 2 and personally I couldn't even taste it, so I'll go for level 3 next time. The pad sew iew consisted of stir fried flat rice noodles with vegetables, egg, and sweet soy sauce. I hadn't had rice noodles before but man were they delicious! They have a variety of options, I suggest checking out their website before you go in case you want to ask questions when ordering.

Food is great, but the portions are terrible. Service is good, but the "non-cash adjustment" will just come out of the tip, if I do tip given they do that. The inside of the place is nice enough. Delicious food though, if you don't mind over paying at bit.....enjoy! My photos show the size of their very small spring rolls and wontons. Too small for the price but are delicious. You'll see how much I paid for everything. I probably won't be back given the price and portions.

This place offers amazing dishes! One of my favorites is the TOM YUM soup. I first had it in Thailand and fell in love with it. I've since tried other plates and they have all been delicious. It's a nice and quiet environment with a super friendly, and helpful staff.

Food has no flavor and curry dishes don't have sauce (according to Alex the server), Ordered Tom Kha Soup with chicken and the broth tasted like water. My Red curry had no curry sauce/gravy. The staff could not offer compensation for the two dishes and we ordered 5 dishes an 2 spring rolls. The spring rolls were good despite being cold and having to be heated and the Pad Kee Mao not much flavor either but better than the soup or dry Red curry dish. The portions were much smaller than expected I almost thought I was given a lunch portion but that is not what I was upset about. If a customer is not satisfied always try to make it right. I was told, "We will let your grievances be known" I asked about offering to refund two dishes (Tom Kha Soup and the Red Curry) was told they couldn't authorize. The owner is at a nursing conference and won't be back till next week and they will reply to me when they can. I also asked if they could just offer to remake and that also was not an option as Alex said that he checked the food and it was prepared as it should be and everyone has different tastes buds. I explained to Alex I've eaten Thai in many places and this just didn't taste good Disappointing

Very nice Thai food. Medium/ small restaurant that is friendly and relaxing . I had the beef Pad Se Lew which is: stir-fried flat rice noodles with vegetables, egg and sweet soy sauce. Great ingredients perfectly cooked. Thai iced tea and Mango Sticky Rice also good. A great place to eat. Recommended.

I had never ate at this place before. At the urging of the McAllen Chamber Of Commerce, I order Shrimp Pad Thai for lunch. The portions were very generous, very delicious, and quite tasteful. Price was very reasonable. Right now only to go order are available.

Well I searched a healthy option on yelp and Thai Red appeared. We came in, lovely set up. UNFORTUNATELY, the food was NOOOO BUENO! My partner ordered a pasta (she didn't want healthy, lol) It was awful it tasted like Campbell's soup. I honestly think they poured my left over Tom Yum broth in her pasta. It was absolutely disgusting and we asked for some more spices it definitely didn't help at all. I am not one to put salt on my meal but mine was kinda flavorless as well. Also SOGGY RICE and an overwhelming amount of tomato but lack of mushrooms. Service absolutely mediocre. Sat in our dirty dishes and napkins the whole time. We won't be back. WORST $40 bucks ever spent on tasteless soggy food.

Decent restaurant for Thai in the Valley. Flavor not what I'm used to, but that's okay. Had Tom yum soup and it was more spicy than flavorful....I wasn't given an option for spice level. Had the dumplings and satay for appetizers and again wasn't overall thrilled by flavor. Place was clean, waitstaff were attentive, but probably would not come back again as it just didn't connect with my tastebuds.

Always good food here. Great lunch spot too. The pad thai isn't my favorite but the curries and other noodle dishes are great.

When we arrived, the server that…read morehad black curly hair with glasses told us there would be about a 15-20 minute wait, so my mom gave them her phone number so they could call her when our table was ready. While we were waiting, my mom needed to use the restroom. While she was in the restroom, they called her, but of course she was unable to answer her phone at that moment. When my mom came out of the restroom, she went to ask if our table was ready. The server responded in a very rude tone and said, "Just so you know, after two calls, we give the table to someone else. You couldn't at least pick up the phone?" My mom explained that she had been in the restroom and asked "what was I supposed to do,answer the phone while I was using the restroom?" The server then seated us, but by that point, we were very uncomfortable with the way my mom had been spoken to. We decided to get up and leave because we did not feel that the service or the way the situation was handled was appropriate. We completely understand that restaurants have policies regarding waitlists, but there was no reason for the server to speak to my mom in such a rude and disrespectful manner, especially when she had simply stepped away to use the restroom.

I noticed one of the cooks was using a dining room table to prepare vegetables while watching a video on her phone. The lady who took my order at the front counter also played the role of server. The counter was cluttered. When I walked in, no one acknowledged me for a few minutes. The lady was talking to someone - whether a friend or client I could not tell. When he left, she finally turned to me and asked if I wanted take-out or dine in. I can't say she was either welcoming nor friendly, but once I stated my intentions were to dine in she led me to a table and handed me the menu. Xin Xin does not have a buffet. But that ensures that everything is made fresh as you order it. They offer dine in, take out, and have a drive through window. Their menu is pretty extensive with Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese entrees.. some of which I have never heard and would need coaching to pronounce. I wanted something more familiar, and ordered the Triple Delight lunch special. The lunch special came with my choice of soup, and either white or fried rice. I ordered the hot and sour soup and fried rice. The lunch special portion was generous but I was hungry and finished it all. I can't say the food quality stood out as extra special, but it was very good and I enjoyed it. The Triple Delight was supposed to have beef, chicken, and shrimp, but I did not detect any beef. There was plenty of the chicken and shrimp. The menu lists beverages as canned soft drinks, a couple of juices like coconut or lychee, and hot or iced tea. I asked the server if the iced tea was fresh brewed and she assured me it was. When she brought out a bottle of Gold Peak sweet iced tea I wondered if she knew enough English to understand my question and what "fresh brewed" means... The Gold Peak was decent, but not the same as fresh brewed. My experience with the service and ambience was lacking. The drink was also a little disappointing. The food, however was very good and the prices were reasonable. Considering the competition, they need to up their game if they want my business.
