This is excellent Thai! Heat 1-10, I got 5 and my husband got 7, he decided his was just moderately hot, mine burnt every part of my insides, perhaps they mixed up who wanted what. But we both loved it anyways. He got basil chicken with fried rice instead of white rice for $5 up-charge. I got the chile veggie fried rice. Our meal came with a spring roll each which was good. I've been trying to find authentic Thai food since moving to Greenville and Kannika's has been the best so far. I always order the Pad Se Ewe to first test the authenticity before deciding on a return trip. The spice level was spot on, great ratio of vegetables to noodles and where other nearby Thai restaurants have a syrup or overly sweet sauce, Kannikas had all the flavor you'd expect with fresh authentic spice. It's a small establishment with fast and friendly wait staff. Parking lot is very small for the amount of diners but the food is worth finding alternate parking and there was another lot in the back of the building. read more

Excellent chicken pad Thai with a broad scope of spice levels. The Thai dumplings I was not a fan of, they were almost like large meatballs wrapped in noodles. I was expecting either a smaller piece of meat or it mixed with vegetables. This restaurant offers dine in or carry out. There also is a small bar area in the back of the restaurant. Please be aware there is a 10% charge on carry outs for servers. I ordered carry out and was told there would be a 25 minute wait and I waited over 40 minutes to get my food. This is my favorite spot to get Thai curry in Greenville. My usual is the dumplings and Massaman curry with chicken and veggies. Absolutely delicious! Bestie and I love to meet up for dinner here. It's usually crowded in the evenings and for good reason. There is extra parking behind the building. It's always clean and the staff give great customer service. The food comes out relatively quickly, even on busy nights. It has a casual dining vibe. The portions are large, but the curry reheats nicely the next day. We stopped in around 1 PM on a weekday. The lunch menu had a good bit of variety and we had an option of ordering the degree of spice or heat in the dishes from one to ten. We started with the Crab Rangoon which were delicious, crispy with lots of creamy crab flavor. My wife had a beef stir fry and I had a chicken Pad Thai; both spice level 2. Both were very good and flavorful with a hint of spicy heat. I would increase the spice a bit in the future as I think it would enhance the dishes even more. So this is my first ...but not last...long overdue trip to this restaurant.. They are very Covid 19 conscious!. No alcohol on the menu BUT...You can bring your own beer or wine.. every day! No corkage fee! So we started with spring rolls home made and delicious...not overly crispy. I ordered a small bowl of soup---.Tom Jood.. all veggies with a clear broth and white pepper...great for a cool evening or snowy nite. Very hot and spicy ..i suggest to .go down a level on the heat level/spice level. It will warm you! For my main course...I ordered..the panang Curry wiith veggies only... jasmine rice was great..panang was delicious less hot than the soup. My daughter ordered the garlic stir fry Chicken It was gently spicy..with an explosion of flavors. Plenty of veggies and appropriate sizded chicken pieces. It was not as good as I expected. We ordered the satay chicken for the appetizer, then for the entrees we got the shrimp pad thai, and fried rice with chicken. Kannika's Thai Kitchen is located in a small strip center on the south end of Haywood Rd. If you have not visited previously, you might want to key the address in on your GPS. Kannika's is unassuming from the outside street view. The restaurant opens up nicely inside to warm colored walls, booths on both sides and hard top tables in the center. The bar is located near the rear. Dining at the bar is always an option, it appears. The parking can be touchy at busy times. We were lucky enough to see two empty parking spots upon arrival. We also took the last four top table available on New Year's Eve. It's hard to rate service during abnormally busy times like the night we visited. But, for this first experience, service was fair. Our server was challenged to understand English. However, together, we managed to communicate. The menu is diverse and extensive. We had the curry chicken, basil chicken, basil shrimp, and the spring rolls. The entrees were accompanied by white rice. We requested hot or spicy for each dish. The dishes were tasty and the spice kept us looking for the server with the water pitcher. I will try the mild versions on my next visit. Overall, a nice restaurant. The food came out hot and filled the need. The service was spotty, but manageable. I look forward to visiting Kannika's again in the near future. read more

Went for lunch with a friend. Servers were prompt, friendly, and attentive. Background noise was a bit too much for quiet conversation, but not overwhelming. Both our dishes were very flavorful, with the only issue being the level of hotness. I ordered my red curry mild, but it was still a bit too much for my taste. My friend ordered hers medium. Nothing fancy or elaborate, just Pad Thai and Tom Kha soup. 40 minutes later we had not received the soup or the pad Thai, so we asked our server if they could package it up to take with us and we were informed they had not even started to prepare it. There is clearly a warning on the menu that it takes time as everything is freshly prepared, but we witnessed multiple tables that arrived after us receiving their meals long before we decided to leave. A simple dinner for wife and me after a busy day in town. Perfect restaurant, without pretense, but with great Thai food and very nice wait staff. We at first thought it was closed, but discovered that it was open and you can actually sit indoors for table service. Very small interior. Bar on one side, booths on other side with tables in between. What a break from the Covid carry-out culture. We each had curry: I had the Panang, 6/10 heat scale, my favorite, wife had Mussaman, 5/10 on heat. Both were excellent and we appreciated the wider flexibility on spice/heat. Awful Thai food! Awful service! Worst Thai experience I've had, and I've eaten Thai all over the world.

My partner and I had the most uncomfortable experience at this dining establishment. The manager Josh was our sever Sunday around noon. We ordered Duck Wings and Crab Rangoon and instead were brought Dumplings and the Crab Rangoon. When I pointed this out to Josh, he said he could bring me Duck Wings as well. I told him I wanted the Wings instead and not in addition. He informed me that would have to charge me 50% of the dumplings. I told him that I understood how the confusion could be made but that I would not be paying for something I did not want or order. He then was passive aggressive with us and told us that he had repeated the order and that we need to listen better. I'm not sure what business plans to be successful when their management is telling paying customers to listen better when their order is being taken. My partner asked Josh if he was the owner and he replied that Yes he was the manager. She then informed Josh that he was making us extremely uncomfortable, that he made himself and the business look bad and that we would not be back. He proceeded to then bring us our bill, definitely we understood we were dismissed. I would not allow anyone to speak to me or treat me this way and even less so when I'm paying for an experience. I recommend you get these as well, especially if you like garlic The pad see ew was incredibly tasty and it packed a lil heat at level 6. I love spice, so I found that level 6 was a good level of spicy as well as flavor without crying. The tofu was chewy and fresh, and the noodles were so delicious. This was our first visit Kannika's. Definitely a worthwhile stop if you are looking for Thai cuisine. The portion size was the most impressive part of the meal, and the flavors were right in line behind the serving size. The Tom Kha was my favorite selection for the meal. They served it piping hot.
