    29. Thai Basil lunch special
    James 'Chip' B.

A friend invited me to lunch here. The Thai Basil was great and I love the lunch special that includes the spring roll, soup, and salad. Next time I'll bring my wife.

The food is fresh and delicious and the service impeccable at Thai Season! Lunches include entree, spring roll, soup, and salad. The soup is really lovely with great flavor. The spring roll is crispy with a cabbage filling and a dipping sauce. The salad was just ok (maybe bagged). I had the Pad Kee Mao with shrimp. There is a small up charge for shrimp, but the shrimp were plump and flavorful. Their handmade sauce is light and delightful, not too sweet. I had the medium heat, which was the perfect amount of spice for me. All the vegetables were super fresh (not frozen) and there were a lot of veggies. I loved my entree and would highly recommend. My husband had the Chicken Pad Thai, which is his go-to entree. He devoured his Pad Thai and said it was good. Our server, Matt was friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly, water filled and plates cleared. Different people handle the food and money, which is how it should be. The dining room is upscale with a subtle Thai ambiance. The small bar is inviting and the booth seating is comfortable. Soft rock plays overhead. This is a perfect spot for date night. The dining room is immaculate (just as I like). The restrooms are spotless. There is free parking in front, but it can get tight during peak hours.

I second what everyone else is saying: Great ambiance, great food, courteous and speedy service. I had a bit much of the veggies in my Padd Thai, but the taste was really good. I also had the Wun Sen salad which is one of my favorites and it is especially delicious here. The rest of my little foodie group all enjoyed their meals also. I know this is short, but I just don't have anything to complain about here.

First off service was so pleasant and welcoming, our server was Title and he was so pleasant. Ambiance was everything !! Take a peek at the pics. Food was amazing in portions and flavor! I did get medium hot just because I feel there is so much variation in degrees from place to place but honestly could have easily went to hot. Crab Rangoon is typically pretty basic but this one was next level and presentation was amazing - great for date nights !!

I've been to Thai Season several times now, usually with a couple of friends and once with a large group. Service and food are always excellent. The dining area is attractive, nice decor and comfortable seating I have ordered several different menu items and my favorite is drunken noodles with tofu. The basil fried rice is very good as well, and so is the eggplant lover. My friends have ordered several different entrées and everyone has always been very happy with their food. Prices are very reasonable, and the location is convenient.

I went there about 5 times already but I have never posted a review. The food is always good. Ordered take out first time today: pad woon sen , basil fried rice and calamari appetizer. Everything is as good as dine in. Service is always great. The place is cozy and clean. Tables are spread out.

It's my first time here for lunch, and I'm really amazed. Lunch is definitely a great deal here. For $13.99, you get a complete meal that comes with veggie soup, a salad, and an egg roll, which is a really good value for the price. The portions are satisfying, and everything is served quickly. Overall, it's a solid lunch option and well worth it. The service was incredibly fast, and everyone was so nice and welcoming. Everything ran smoothly, and the experience was better than I expected. I'll definitely be coming back again.

Very good Thai Restaurant. My wife got the Tom Yum Soup, Chicken. A large was $11.99. She loved it. It had lemon grass, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes. She was surprised that it did not come with a side of rice to help with the flavorful broth. But I gave her some of mine so all was right with the world. I got the Thai Basil with chicken for $13.99 and it was very good as well. In fact, it looked so good that I promptly dove right in, forgetting to take a picture! The food was served quickly and was hot and made with fresh ingredients. Service was attentive. The atmosphere is nice. Upscale casual. They have booth seating on the perimeter of the room and, when we left, all were filled. Will definitely return.

Our Matters of Taste foodie group came to Thai Season for dinner one night this week and we were very impressed with the food. I have been wanting to try this place for quite a while because everyone spoke very highly of Thai Season. I now know why because the food is wonderful and the service is on point. The ambiance is beautiful with a very nice bar area in the back of the dining room. When we arrived, it was practically empty, and while dining in the restaurant, it did not get too busy as well. We did see a lot of people coming in and picking up carry out orders, so that tells me that is the majority of their sales and business. Regardless, our group did enjoy the dining experience and the service. I ordered hot ginger tea to drink and the ginger love chicken entree for dinner along with the spring rolls appetizer. Everything was terrific!! The spring rolls tasted perfect with the dipping sauce and had a nice texture to them. The ginger love chicken entree tasted incredible with the steamed rice at a medium spicy level. The medium spicy level was hot, so keep in mind if you order food here, think about the spice level you want because medium level is hot. The hot ginger tea was probably the best tea I have ever had in a Thai restaurant. It was excellent and tasted amazing. Everyone in our group loved their food and were impressed with the quality of the food. I do hope Thai Season sticks around for a while because the dining experience was great. It is good that carry out orders keeps them busy and in business, because otherwise, they would not exist anymore. Thai Season is an excellent Thai restaurant in Carmel and everyone needs to come check them out for dinner! You will love it!

My recommendation is to order regular entrees for dinner though. Not sure if it's a different chef or manager during those times but this was my husband's consensus as well. We both have ordered takeout here countless times but decided not to return for the buffet. We like our food hot and fresh and will pay the premium for that in the future. They didn't have palak paneer or paneer tikka masala for brunch either which are what I typically eat.

We sat at a high top table in the bar. Our server, Bailey (the bartender), was friendly and super attentive. She made recommendations and kept glasses filled. The craft beer selection is excellent with about 16 local options on tap. My husband had a Fall City "Hipster Repellent". The name alone is interesting, but he loved his beer. I had the Espresso Martini which came with roasted coffee beans floating on top. My cocktail went down easy. I also had a glass of the Berringer Chardonnay. The pour is generous. We shared a plate of Loaded Tots, which was wonderful. The tots are made from scratch in-house and covered with roasted bits of pork belly, cheese, a sauce and green onions. We LOVED the tots, which came out super hot. We also shared a plate of the Loaded Hummus. The plate is beautiful and colorful. The hummus is fresh made and loaded with bits of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and is delicious on a balsamic reduction. The hummus is served with a generous portion of fresh in-house made focaccia bread which tasted amazing. The Loaded Hummus is a winner in my book. Bailey our server was fabulous. She worked the entire bar and was an ambassador of the chef and menu. I wish we had time to stay for dinner because the food is outstanding. I saw a TikTok about the Farmhouse restaurant breakfast buffet and immediately ran to DH. We haven't had a good place to go to since The Garrison in Ft Benjamin Harrison shut down so I was excited to see this place had a breakfast buffet. If COVID taught me anything, it's to call first to make sure the information and times are correct. I called on Friday August 21st to verify that the buffet is Saturdays and they open at 8 AM. I was informed that the information was correct. On Saturday morning, we woke up early and drove 26 miles to be there at 8 AM. At a few minutes after 8 we walked to the restaurant. There was no one in sight working. I couldn't see a cook or cashier. I did see the completely bare buffet table though. I thought, okay, it's early...we'll walk around the store and check things out for a few and come back. We came back at 8:15 and the buffet was still bare. This time there were two women talking near the kitchen so I went over and waited. When they were finished talking I asked when the buffet would be done. One lady asked the other who was walking away and going over to the buffet table and maybe turn it on? She was visibly annoyed to be answering that question. I couldn't hear what she was saying because of the noise of the grocery store but it took her like 2 minutes to answer the first woman and she relayed that it would be like another 30 minutes. The reason given was "due to the flooding". The restaurant is miles away from River Road but I didn't know what flooding she might be talking about so I thanked her and went on our merry way. After leaving the building we discussed that we might as well wait since we drove to Carmel for the breakfast buffet. So after driving around going nowhere particular since nothing is open at 8:15 we swung back around to The Farmhouse and lo and behold, the breakfast buffet table was still empty 50 minutes after the restaurant opened. Once again, there was no employee in sight. I took the video at that time. The only items out were for salads. Terrible restaurant. Very disappointed in how things were handled, the lack of service and no actual breakfast buffet. We will not try to come back here.

This was as the large group to one side of us, and others, saw their server 3 or 4 times. Since we had plenty of time to read the menus we put in drinks (Rosy Cheek & Old Fashioned) and an app (zucchini fries) as well as our entrees (salmon and pork belly, both with the wedge) The drinks were good! The old fashioned was slightly smaller than I'd want for $15 but it's Westfield. The zucchini fries were ok, the breading lacked flavor and we were charged $1 for an extra 1/2 ounce of aioli. The salmon had a spicier seasoning on it than we expected, but the orzo didn't have much? The pork belly was good, maybe a little more sauce than you'd expect but the sticky rice helped get most of it sopped up. In the end, it's not somewhere we'll come back.
