This was our first visit and we will definitely be back! It was quiet when we visited (which I like) but still had several customers. We had good service, efficient and friendly. All of the food we had was really quite good. We started with the fried tofu and the sauce was perfect. Our mains were the Tropical Fried Rice and the Green Curry with Tofu. This place was very good, my SIL and I went here tonight because I'm in town for work this week. I wanted to order the dumplings as an appetizer but unfortunately it's pork and shrimp (I am not a seafood fan) so instead we tried the curry puffs, which are basically empanadas, but tasted a little bit sweeter. For entrees, she got the drunken noodles with tofu and I had the Pad Kraprow. I did think the entrees were a little bit expensive for the portion sizes, the portion size was great since I wasn't looking to take home any leftovers but for $17 for dinner pricing I was surprised the portion wasn't bigger. They have mango sticky rice as a seasonal dish which was excellent because that's my favorite Thai dessert, it was $12 but was a generous portion. I should say the overall food and taste is very flavorful and that packs a good punch in your meal. I tried Siam ginger with shrimp and it had a good taste. Bananas. I can't believe it's been a decade since my last review of Siam Square given how frequently we order carryout from here. My husband and I had our first date here ten years ago and returned last night to celebrate (with our two year old in tow). Don't get me started on how my kiddo chose this "date night" to throw his worst restaurant tantrum to date... (sorry, fellow diners). Back to the food and Siam... First off, I can't thank the Siam crew for navigating my seafood and shellfish allergy with such ease and understanding. It seems that they are able to make a lot of the dishes vegan, if needed. My go-to dishes are the veggie spring rolls (not fried) and the mixed vegetables with chicken and rice (also available with tofu). Both are super refreshing and packed with vegetables. Last night, I thoroughly enjoyed my decaffeinated chrysanthemum honey tea (perfect on a cold winter night) and as always, the mango sticky rice for desert. The service was prompt and friendly. This was my first visit to Fountain Square's Siam Square, a Thai restaurant describing itself as "vibrant Thai cuisine." If you've ever been to the Fountain Square area, you know the entire neighborhood has a myriad of accessibility issues. I have to admit I was a little concerned about committing to a restaurant I really didn't know in a neighborhood where I knew accessibility could be an issue. I parked 3-4 blocks away in a side parking lot that offered a spot likely to maintain accessibility. This neighborhood does tend to have fairly decent curb cuts, though sidewalks are in various forms of disarray. Siam Square is not on the side of the street that has the Cultural Trail, so the sidewalk here is definitely a concern. That said, I made it fairly easily. Siam Square has a green canopy entrance. It's an older building with a narrow wooden door. My lunch guests had some concerns about my entry, however, I was able to make it. As you enter, you turn slightly to the right to enter and face a hosting area and then the simply yet pleasantly decorated dining room. As a matter of note, my smaller manual wheelchair made the turn fairly easily. However, I would have some concerns about a motorized chair being able to make it. It's a sharp, narrow turn. Three of us were dining and we sat at a 4-top. Our server was quiet but pleasant and helpful throughout our time there.I was the only newbie to Siam Square. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. I was asked if I wanted it mild, medium, or hot. To be safe, I chose medium. I regretted this as I found the medium VERY mild. I ordered unsweetened iced tea and did get my always desired refill. Siam Square has lunch specials Tuesday-Friday (closed Monday). They offer starters, small dishes, soups, stir-fried entrees, fried rice, thai coconut curries, seafood specialties, a small dessert menu, and a small kids' menu. Drinks include coke products, Thai iced coffee, Thai iced tea, ginger tea, hot tea, and chrysanthemum honey tea. I enjoyed my time here quite a bit, a combination of a solid meal and good company with a warm, comfy atmosphere. I arrived right as they opened and it was still fairly quiet. I'm not sure I'd go out of the way to dine here but certainly wouldn't hesitate to return when in the area. As I noted, several restaurants on this strip are not accessible (most have a step into them) and despite some challenges Siam Square does offer a level to the ground entryway. It was a beautiful day to hang out in Fountain Square and I was pleased to finally be able to visit this restaurant I'd long desired to check out. read more

Siam Square has long been known for amazing food and outstanding service. A recent event demonstrated that excellence goes beyond the food preparation and the table service. It is also truly evident with the management in resolving a billing issue. After dining for lunch in March we found that a debit charge for both the meal before the tip and with the tip included had been made to our account. Upon contacting the restaurant I was immediately impressed with the sincerity of the person listening to my problem. She politely and clearly instructed me what to forward via text to resolve the double charge. I did so which was immediately acknowledged and within a couple hours, the manager contacted me via phone and assured me that a credit would occur. And as promised, the credit showed on our account the next day, We commonly review on food and service during the meal. I think Siam Square should be recognized for how they excel in doing business behind the scenes. They have certainly gained my respect and I hope my loyalty will reflect my gratitude. read more

I get it- inflation is crazy, but the portion I got did not fill me up for $16. I ordered pad Thai, spiced medium. When it came out it was cold, and was not medium spiced at all. They did take my dish and heat it up for me. It came back and tasted a little better. I would never expect a discount, but it does feel like they could have done something else to make up for this. I learned about Siam Square through a Yelp Elite event a few months ago, and enjoyed the food and service so much that I had to come back! The owner is SO friendly and helpful. I watched as he navigated a language barrier with another customer, and he was nothing but sweet and polite. I also learned that he and his wife visited Thailand several times for different culinary and pastry courses, so she now makes beautiful macarons and other desserts from scratch. I ended up with the pad thai lunch special. Both the entree and the little spring roll were delicious. Next time I think I'll need a full order of the spring rolls because they were so good! Medium Chicken Pad Thai and an order of Crab Rangoon. My order was ready just 15 minutes later. I was shocked with the amount of food that I got! The pad thai was flavorful and moist!!! What a great story and a way to move forward. The food is the biggest thing to talk about! I had the Thai coffee (exceptionally made) as well as the kratiem. I got the kratiem with chicken and hot and it was wonderful. The flavors were everywhere and I so enjoyed my meal. My son ordered the pad thai, thai hot.
