We discovered this quaint little restaurant in our neighborhood at the corner of Euclid and East and we figured we'd give it a try. It was just past the lunch hour and we thought a light meal might ease our slight hunger pangs. So we ordered the following from their Friday lunch menu: Gaeng Kua with Pork Preow Wan with Chicken But before I grade the dishes let me say how quick the whole ordering process was. I know it says Thai but the orders came to us like a Chinese restaurant. It took all of five minutes from the time we gave our order to the time it was on our table. Dang!! The Gaeng Kua was authentically prepared and so creamy. More importantly, it had the "heat"! Not an Americanized dish so it can cater to a wider audience. The portions were just right. I'll give this an A-. The Chicken Preow Wan was equally just as delicious and it was both delightfully sour and sweet. Perfectly crafted. This gets an A. Granted this was the lunch menu so I'm not sure if this will be my final grade. My wife and I will come back to sample their dinner fare and see if it's as good. More soon.

Cozy spot in Dilworth! It's been there since 1988 and is definitely a mainstay. We stopped in after wandering through a nearby art gallery one evening. We split an order of the fried chicken dumplings and each chose an entree. I'd never had Yum Woon Sen before and it was yummy! I would definitely order again. I added chicken, though you can pick your protein. My partner ordered the pad Thai, which was good as well. Service was quick and efficient. You can choose how spicy you want your food (1-5). Waitress was very nice. I also felt the prices were fair. Happy to have spots like this around town!

Cool spot to meet up for dinner. The steam dumplings are a must! I had the crispy duck in red curry. Level one spice was the perfect spice for the coldness outside. Friendly and efficient staff. Very cozy spot. And it was a quick service

I really enjoyed my lunch here yesterday with a friend! We came on Thursday right at 12pm and were seated immediately. The location is perfect on the border of Dilworth and SouthEnd but one of the rare few spots with free parking! If you have time to stroll through Paper Skyscraper after too (the store next door) then even better. For their lunch menu, there are only about 6 entree options to choose from and each includes a small cup of soup, iced tea (they bring you a bottle of simply syrup to sweeten your own), and jasmine rice or noodles depending on the dish. I had the Gaeng Dang and my friend had Pud Thai. Both dishes were great. Her's was a little sweeter than I am used to, but I absolutely LOVED my coconut red curry sauce with a spice level of 4 (their spice range is 1-5). We already decided this will be a regular lunch meet up spot for us! I can't wait to return.

Great quick lunch spot. Lunch comes with soup, iced tea, a spring roll and the choice of 1 out of 7 lunch menu options. We had #1 and #7 and both were delicious. The ambiance and decor are nice and add to the vibe of the experience. We will be back!

Always good and wonderful service. Loved the chicken dumplings! Pud Thai is our favorite.

Ordered pad Thai and Tom Ka Kai soup through DoorDash to be delivered to my hotel room. Obviously, asked for utensils and napkins. Delivery was quick and that was the only good thing about my order. Got zero utensils and zero napkins. At a hotel room! You've all had Pad Thai before and know what it should look like. Look at my photo - it's a glued together mush of overcooked noodles and some limp chicken. No sprouts, no peanuts, no green onion, no lime. Just tasteless glue that costs over $20.00. The soup was just a little better but tasted vinegary. No galanga, no hint of lemongrass. I called the restaurant and they asked me to text them the photo. Their excuses? 1. It's all mixed in. 2. Everything is better when you dine in. 3. They don't give utensils unless requested. (I requested) 4. This is how they make their food. They call their Pad Thai Pud Thai. Maybe because it rhymes with dud.

Extremely average Thai food. We got Pad Thai and Panang Curry for take-out. The Pad Thai was pretty dry although it was a huge portion. The curry came with a ton of rice but really not much curry and not super flavorful. I like other Thai places in Charlotte much more. I will say the atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy and cute so maybe dining in would make for a better experience.

This is a nicely located restaurant with some delicious and affordable options. MENU It has a decent variety of appetizers, salads, soups, stir fries and others. My wife and I ordered the #34 (stir fry with pineapple and sweet and sour sauce and chicken) and and #39 (stir fry ginger with chicken). They were both excellent! We did not order drinks or dessert this time. LOCATION Thai Taste is located in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Charlotte right next one of the cutest stores in the city (Paper Skyscraper). You can actually eat at Thai Taste, and walk around and go to Paper Skyscraper to hand out. PARKING There is plenty of free parking around.

I have been trying to find a good Thai place in Charlotte but have yet to find one. In my opinion the menu was way over priced. There was a decent amount of chicken in the dish but not nearly enough sauce. The noodles were very dry.

I came by on 6/19 and was sat with no wait at a booth in their bar area. The waitress was very nice and held multiple roles (greeter, waitress, bartender, cashier etc). After ordering she brought us out a complementary sample of some of the best soup I've ever had. The broth was packed with flavor and it had little pieces of tofu in it. I would go back just for the soup alone. The food was equally as good. I ordered the Cashew nut lunch entree that came with white rice. Again, full of flavor and only mildly spicy as I can't handle much heat. Served steaming hot and with a decent portion size. I will definitely be adding this restaurant to my list of places to return. *Sorry for the poor picture quality. The place was dimly lit and I was super hungry so I didn't prioritize photos on this one.

The menu is extensive, portions are generous, and this is the kind of place where ordering a variety of dishes and sharing family-style is the way to go. That's exactly what we did. We sampled everything from fresh basil rolls, crispy egg rolls, fried wontons, and other appetizers to curries, noodle dishes, vegetables, duck, chicken, and more. The basil duck was outstanding, the red curry was rich and flavorful, and the ginger chicken was another favorite at our table. Every dish arrived fresh, hot, and beautifully prepared. The cocktails were equally impressive. Colorful, creative, and well-balanced, they paired perfectly with the bold flavors coming out of the kitchen. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with an open-concept kitchen that adds energy and excitement to the dining experience. Service was attentive, friendly, and efficient, even on a busy evening. Now for the only downside: the prices. Basil Thai is not inexpensive. Some menu items are priced more like what you'd expect in San Francisco than Charlotte. The portions are generous and the quality is excellent, but be prepared for the bill if you're ordering cocktails, appetizers, and multiple entrées. Parking can also be a little challenging since it's located in a busy Uptown area. Plan on using a nearby parking garage and walking a short distance to the restaurant. That said, if you're looking for a special night out, authentic Thai flavors, generous portions, beautiful cocktails, and a lively atmosphere, Basil Thai is well worth a visit. Life is too short not to eat well, Charlotte. Get out there and eat your way through it.

There are some amazing Thai restaurants in NYC so that sets the bar pretty high. I ordered the Pad See Ew with shrimp which is definitely one of my "go-to" Thai entree selections. A couple of things I noticed. First of all they used regular broccoli in their version. I have never once seen regular broccoli and not Chinese Broccoli in this dish. That was disappointing. Then the shrimp had the talk on it. I've never had a Thai restaurant leave the tail on in a noodle dish. I found it to be annoying to have to wrestle with it. Unnecessary fir a noodle dish. Finally the sauce wasn't as sweet as o was used to. The recipe is usually made with a SWEET soy sauce. This was clearly regular soy sauce and quite honestly it tasted good first bit but there was a weird aftertaste that I can't describe which made me want to stop eating it even though the first bite was ok. Not sure what that aftertaste was but I'm not a fan and will probably never go back to try something else there. I'm gonna go gargle with Listerine now. The restaurant is cute, clean and in a great location but not authentic Thai in my eyes.

I had a full-blown attack of the hangries after working nonstop since early morning, and all I…read morecould think about was Thai food. Naturally, I headed straight to Thai Thai Takeout, which has always been one of my comfort-food staples in Charlotte. Well, surprise -- the restaurant recently changed ownership and rolled out an entirely new menu. I was trying to order from my old takeout menu over the phone and quickly realized I was completely out of sync. Thankfully, the woman helping me was incredibly patient and kind while I figured it out. I ended up ordering the Pra Rahm Long Song with tofu, and honestly, it was delicious. It came loaded with steamed spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, napa cabbage, and cabbage covered in a rich peanut sauce that was comforting without feeling too heavy. The tofu soaked up all that flavor beautifully. I also ordered a pineapple red curry with pork at spice level 3. The curry itself was fantastic -- creamy, rich, loaded with pineapple, and really flavorful. I will say the spice level was pretty mild for a "3," so I added my own chilies at home to kick it up a notch. My only critique was the pork, which was a little dry and tough for my liking. I'm pretty particular about proteins and don't really do white meat chicken either, so next time I may try tofu or another option instead. The good news? The portions are generous, everything was packed nicely, and my order was hot and ready exactly when promised -- about 10 to 12 minutes after I called. Parking is easy right in front, and since it's takeout-only, it makes for a super quick and convenient dinner stop. Even though some longtime favorites like the satay seem to be gone, the new menu looks extensive and exciting enough that I'll absolutely be back to eat my way through it. Charlotte, there's a big wide world out there, and this is definitely a place worth adding to your regular rotation.

Now it's been awhile since I've ordered from here but I live on the other side of town and had planned to order when I came over to this area. I ordered Pad Thai, Pad See Ew Gang Panang Curry and Thai Thai fried rice. I should have known something was up when a new voice answered the phone. She also had a hard time taking my order and the former cashier/owner had my order down pack. Now the new girl did try to make sure everything was right and even called back to confirm the order. Once home and unpacking the order I could tell something was up. Everything was packaged and looked different. Upon sampling all the items I can confirm the the chicken in each of the dishes is super thin and dried out. Kinda tough. The noodle dishes were also dry and don't taste good. The most palatable dish was the curry and that's not saying much. I'm going to do a little research but I'm pretty sure I will not be coming back to Thai Thai in the future and that hurts my heart.
