I NEVER yelp but this place was so good I had to create an account! My fiancé and I are back and fourth between the Bay Area and South Lake Tahoe, usually come to Carson City to grocery shop. We were super hungry and saw the restaurant Thai Thai. As soon as we walked in the owner (sorry! Forgot his name) was super nice and welcoming. He was very genuine and funny. Not to mention the food was soooo good! The pineapple fried rice and the pad see ew was amazing. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. We eat a lot of Thai food but this place definitely stood out! We've decided to make a point to eat here whenever we come to Carson City! read more

Food is OK at best but I ordered to go and paid 9 bucks for a lunch. as soon as they handed me the bag I knew I made a mistake (felt empty). one tiny scoop of rice and like not even a childs portion of BBQ pork. My girlfriend and I went in for dinner tonight. Very clean, quiet and nice. Kong (the owner) is such a great guy, really cares about his customers. Not only did he offer to give us both MORE food if what we had wasn't enough, but he wasn't going to charge for the extra. He then came and gave us both some of his Aloe juice that was his personal stash. Not sold in the store. And left us with the bottle after we said we enjoyed it. I had the drunken noodles and had them ordered a little less spicy, it was delicious!! My girlfriend wasn't sold on the idea of Thai food, until Kong came over and suggested food and how to order. She had the wonton soup, and is now a fan! I would come back weekly, not only for the food but for the friendly atmosphere! read more

Outstanding food!! Great service. We had planned on eating lunch at The Basil, but a sign on the door said they were on vacation, and would be back soon. So, this was the next closest Thai restaurant. We were on a tight time schedule, and they accommodated us with no problem. The aroma from the pad see aew was amazing, and the taste was excellent! The panang curry was absolutely delicious! We've eaten at many excellent Thai restaurants in several cities, but this was the best! They don't skimp on quality - all their ingredients are fresh and very flavorful. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Carson City. read more

This place is wonderful, but I love curry and tai food. I only gave it 4 stars because my 2 smaller plate curries weren't as flavorful and thinner than I've had. Presentation wasn't very pretty like other tai places make their food. And the curry was mostly just liquid, not really any veggies in them. My husbands meal was addicting. Tasty and inexpensive. They have been open only since July-August, but sadly seem to be suffering from a less than ideal location. We had the vegetable spring rolls, drunken noodles and red curry. My wife and I went here for lunch. We've been a long time before and remembered it being good. Well, things have changed. We both ordered the red curry, simply because we knew what it was. The menu didn't have any descriptions on it at all. My wife asked for pineapple in hers and I asked for none, and we both asked it for as spicy as they could make it. When we got the food, it was bland, hardly spicy, and mine had pineapple in it. The fried wonton with honey was the best part of the meal. We won't be coming back here again. read more

My husband and I stopped here for lunch last week and were absolutely blown away by the service and quality of food. We ordered the pad see ew and another noodle dish- both were excellent. Spring roll appetizer was also delicious- light and fresh with a very tasty peanut sauce. Our server (also the owner) was so pleasant and attentive, though not overbearing. Waters were kept full, food came out quick, and we even were given complimentary iced teas (sooo good!) towards the end of our meal. Price was very reasonable. We will definitely be back!! read more

Arrived at 12 noon - the door was propped open and the interior was overly warm. Seated right away at a table covered with a beautiful Thai-made fabric as were the other tables. Service was prompt and cheerful. I ordered pad Thai and was disappointed when it came. The flavor was just alright and the noodles were gray - very unappetizing. No peanuts. We were traveling north through Carson City, driven out of our Sierra campground by the smoke of September's fires. We found Thai Thai after a couple of missed turns, tucked in behind the mall. There was some confusion at first--most of their business must be take-out, and I don't think the old woman at the counter spoke English. But once we'd ordered, the owner was extremely caring and helpful, invited us to eat at an outside table so our dog wouldn't have to be locked in the car, even brought the dog a bowl of water. But the reason I'm writing this--my first Yelp review--is because the food was even better than the service. The spicy eggplant was the best I've ever eaten, and it's a dish I've ordered at many Thai restaurants. A bright spot in our disastrous vacation--Carson City residents are lucky to have Thai Thai so close. read more

I used to visit this place when I lived briefly in Carson City four years ago, and it was great then. It was a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant was still making great food today! It is hard to find, tucked into the back of a decaying mall on Stewart Street, but it is worth looking for. I had Prik Khing, made very spicy, and I am happy to report that the dish was truly very spicy, delicious, and the rice served with it was wonderful. My spouse had Pad Thai made with duck, and that dish was also excellent. Portion sizes were quite large, and pricing is fair. Highly recommended. read more

I had been there one other time and it wasnt great but thought I would try it again since coworkers were going, this time it was even worse. if you want Thai food just do it right and go to the Basil. Thai Thai is hands down the best Thai food in Carson City. The Basil doesn't hold a candle to Thai Thai. It's quiet, REALLY clean and delicious. Kong, the owner, is always so eager to help and make sure that you're happy. He will make recommendations if you ask and adjustments if you need any. He often drives down to California to buy fresh herbs and unique spices for his food. I have friends from Vegas that have to eat here everytime they visit.
