I have to give Thai Time 5 stars! We've been there several times. Would we keep going back if it wasn't suitable? Our mist recent visit was Friday, Aug. 6, 2021. We dined on the outside deck on a gorgeous Binghamton evening. The Mojitos were perfection, and the food was both delicious and plentiful. I don't eat left-overs as a rule, but I always end up with a box to go. This evening, we were too stuffed to order dessert, but the desserts we almost always get there are amazing. Though the appetizers were tasty, both entrees were subpar and required huge amounts of sriracha and sweet chili sauce (thank goodness we ordered to go) in order to have any flavor at all. Though the food wasn't great and the location is a bit odd (they don't offer delivery) the prices are unbeatable and the service was friendly and prompt. Hey, not bad at all. Staff is very warm and accommodating. Food kind of rocks. It is a little out of the way, but you might be in the area... They don't have a liquor license, but next door is a liquor store, so feel free to bring along. They have a big space, it can get a bit crowded on Fridays and Saturdays, so feel free to bring as many friends as you'd like (on an off day). Binghamton does have it's own set of standards. Like giving your retarded cousin a head start in a race, and pretending to trip on a squirrel right before the finish line - but Thai squared doesn't need the head start. It would be a pretty decent restaurant anywhere in the states. If you don't know where it is, it's where the topless alcoholic and bottomless dry adjacent strip clubs are. I'm a huge fan of Thai food, and Thai Thai does not disappoint. I'm honestly puzzled by some of the reviews for the pad thai. I've had plenty of pad thai before, and I wouldn't say that this restaurant has the best I've ever had, but it's definitely not as awful as the reviews have said. Although I do agree that the pad thai could use a bit of help, the other dishes that I've had are definitely good enough to merit 4 stars from me. The pad see ewe, pad kee mao, any of the curries, basil and garlic sauces are really quite delicious. In fact, after having tried a lot of items on the menu, I've settled on a favorite: beef with basil sauce. I can't get enough of it, and I realize it's not good for my cholesterol, but I can't help it. I get it every time, and I love it every time. I've never been disappointed by it, but then again, I've never really been disappointed by anything I've eaten here. Don't be skeptical of the quality just because it has a less than stellar location. Best Thai food in Binghamton area. Thai Thai is a family owned spot that's no nonsense when it comes to just plain excellent food. No frills, no performances, just yummy for the tummy. The most expensive dish on the menu is the fish, which is about $13. Very reasonable, especially for a depressed economy (like Binghamton's). I'd much rather drive an extra 5 miles to eat consistently prepared fresh food that is tasty and satisfying, than pontificate at Lemongrass for three times the cost (come bill time). I wish I could give them a 3.5! I am an avid Thai Time customer and I was very excited to try a new Thai restaurant in Binghamton. The price is definitely a catch. Since I usually order Thai Fried Rice and Phad Thai in Thai Time, I ordered the same thing at Thai Thai to compare the taste. I was a bit disappointed because, taste-wise, I think Thai Time is better. The Phad Thai was too sweet for me and the Thai Fried Rice was too similar to regular Chinese fried rice. The good thing though, the served complimentary salad with peanut sauce, which was yummy! And also a large Thai Iced Tea for only $1.50. I had a very good experience here. The family is so adorable, and the service we got was quick and incredibly polite. I had the Tom Yuk Gai soup, the Pad Thai, and the Sticky Rice with Mango. The soup was savory and the mushrooms in it were yummy, the Pad Thai had a great flavor, and the sticky rice felt like more of a second course than a dessert--I was already so full. The portions you get are just right, especially for the low price.
