My wife loved the coconut soup very much and remarked she could eat it everyday! Chicken satay was well cooked but we've had better peanut sauce. Perhaps you can reach out to Pat at Thai Thai restaurant on upper court Street in Binghamton and get her peanut sauce recipe? It is superior to any we've had. The grilled shrimp appetizer wasn't grilled but appeared to be done on a flat top. Cooked, not grilled. My Pad Thai was different than any I've had. Rice noodles were thinner and would stuck together making it difficult to eat. More like long thin rice spaghetti that needs a knife to eat. I found I was grabbing up globs of noodles without a knife. Chicken in the dish was ground having a different take on any others I've had. I liked it. Would be nice to have a spice rack when seated so we could add more spice rather than having to choose 1-5 and hope for the best. For the price they should give you extra napkins without asking and ice water when you sit down. I've never had Pad Thai as good as at the Thai Thai restaurant I mentioned earlier in Binghamton. I hope you reach out to Pat and get her recipe for that as well. It's the best! I always get chicken and shrimp Pad Thai there and it's the best we ever had. Delicious! The food is still delicious, but Taste of Thai increased prices significantly without updating their online menu. $50 (after tip) for 2 soups and lunch specials is simply too much for me. I ordered a Vegetable Pad Thai to go that the menu said comes with broccoli and snowpeas- and I get home and there are no Vegetables-also the chicken coconut curry sauce was like bathwater-i called to find out what happened and she blamed the printer that printed the menus,saying it was a typo- and that the printer was to blame for the no vegetables!! We had a delicious meal of fresh, authentic Thai food last week. It was surprisingly but pleasantly busy for a new restaurant on a Saturday evening. The 4 members of my family who all live out of town are familiar with Thai food so it was fun to introduce new flavors to the 2 elderly members in our party who live locally. We started out with Crispy Rolls and Summer Rolls with Chicken. Followed by Tom Kha Gai (chicken coconut soup) and Som Tom with no shrimp. Wow! The Crispy Rolls were flavorful and not greasy with a sweet & sour sauce. The Summer Rolls were tender and delicious and served with the same delicious sauce (we are used to a peanut based sauce in NJ, but this kept them lighter and more refreshing). The Tom Kha Gai was rich and savory with a hint of sour from the lime. It was a fantastic balance. My only negative about this is that for the price, I was expecting a much larger portion. It was a tiny bowl for $7.50. I have been to restaurants where that same soup is served in a small cauldron with a ladle to share at that price. The next dish was Som Tom which is a Thai salad/ slaw made with shredded green papaya and other things with a tangy/ sweet/ salty sauce. This was the first dish that had an asterisk indicating 'spicy' and we could choose the heat level on a scale from 1 - 5. We chose a 1 but should have asked if it was available as a ZERO. The flavor was fantastic, but it was too spicy (from chilis) for 4 of the 6 people at the table. We then had 2 orders of Pad Thai, Massaman Curry (spice level 2) and a Green Curry with NO bell peppers and a ZERO spice level (there was no red asterisk as a warning) all with chicken as the protein, delivered to the table. Cashew Chicken, too. The aroma was intoxicating. You could smell the smokiness from a hot wok as well as the citrus from the limes. The Pad Thai was a big hit with those new to Thai food. It did seem as if each order was made separately as one had more sauce than the other. The noodles were slightly firmer than what we are accustomed to, but they were great. The Cashew Chicken did not have a red asterisk on the menu but we asked for a ZERO anyway due to Tamarind Chili Sauce being listed on the menu. The combination of chicken, cashews, onions, bell peppers, baby corn, carrots, broccoli, celery, and pineapple made this dish something exotic and spectacular, although a touch too spicy. The Massaman Curry was sweet and savory with coconut milk, potatoes, and onions, carrots and pineapple in that rich curry sauce combined with the chicken and topped with crispy fried onions. The person who ordered it at a level two spice level was a bit overwhelmed, but ate all of it with lots of rice. The green curry which is made with Coconut milk, green curry paste, eggplant, Makrut (AKA Kaffir) lime leaves, string beans and Thai basil leaves did not arrive as ordered. The aromatic bowl was full of multicolored bell peppers and the green curry sauce was VERY spicy. The server came by to see how everything came out and we mentioned the error with the peppers. She was immediately apologetic and offered to have another made ASAP. We asked if we could get an order of Pad See Ew with chicken instead and were told, of course! She apologized again for the error. The Pad See Ew (no red asterisk) is fresh Thai rice noodles which are stir fried with eggs, broccoli, onions, snow peas and some other veggies in a smoky brown sauce. It came out pretty quickly and this dish was well received at the table and was very tasty. The chicken was plentiful and tender which was a nice contrast to the smokiness of the stirfried veggies and the soft noodles. When asked, the server mentioned that they had only been open for 4 weeks. We thought it was great that there were 2 tables with Asian families speaking to the staff in their native language when we arrived. That is always a great sign when looking for authentic International cuisine! As the weather is starting to get colder in the Southern Tier, I hope that the owners will consider adding a vestibule or some way to protect diners from the outside elements every time the front door is opened. Some kind of room divider or barricade would be helpful. Looking forward to stopping in again on our next visit! read more

We got the green curry and drunken noodles. They were okay at best. This was our first time there and the service was pretty bad. The server asked if we were ready to order but hadn't given us menus, he said there was a hot scale of 1-4 but then said both 1 and 2 were medium so it wasn't super helpful. The Thai tea was made with half and half instead of condensed milk and it was more sugar than tea if you're into that. Ambiance was ok. read more

It took an hour to get our meals. I also ordered a meal to go and after waiting almost two hours, i was told it was given to someone else by mistake. I was still charged for an appetizer I ordered and never got and for the to go meal that I never got. I was so frustrated and disappointed by the entire experience that I hastily paid the bill before realizing I was overcharged. Maybe the worst experience in this area. The service was failing, tables not cleared, constant apologies, and it took us 1.5 hours to get mediocre food. We had ordered from there once before last year, and it was decent, we will not get food from there again. And the music was annoying to top it off. We ended up asking to take our order home. First visit with family member who is a fan. Food was outstanding! Crispy rolls were just that and the sauce complimentary. Calamari crisp, I hesitated to dip in the sauce, but it delicately enhanced the flavor. The green curry had quite a variety of seafood. Sauce was thinner than I am used to (from my hometown Vietnamese restaurant), so I added the rice to my take-home container to be sure I got it all! Yum! Som Tom, green papaya slaw, was new to me, unique and very tasty. My companions orders the Thai Sausage with it - a combination they enjoy a lot! Pad Thai, again, was unique and the Pho & Drunken Noodles delicious. Spiciness is offered form 0 - 4. Knowing SE Asian food can be quite hot, I got level 2 and it was just within my tolerance level - perfect. Shoot lower rather than higher on this, as there are also condiments to add, so if you need to make it hotter, you can. Sauces and dishes are all freshly made with prime ingredients and true expertise. Don't come expecting something you ate elsewhere - you'll be disappointed. A wonderful gem - many perfections -in food, service, ambiance, and price value. Food- all the classics of Thai cuisines- soups, salads, appetizers- curries- and some deserts. We tried the Green curry, Shrimps Soup with lemon grass, Pad Thai, as well as our own variation of the Thai Salad. On the service: A lady waitress, Ms. Kim, went out of her way and brought me -my own version of salad topped with six types of sea food; she charged only $16- and I had to force her to change the price as I know the market price of the ingredients being at least $20, In addition she cheerfully served the food we brought to the restaurant from the outside. One cannot request a better service. The ambiance was extremely clean with cloth napkins-comfortable clean WC's. As a retired 90 years old Prof, who has dined in 24 countries -world-wide, I feel we, members of Broom County should support these wonderful gems, such as Taste of Thai (also China Lake (Endicott), and Caffe del Corso(Vestal Plaza)); they are blessings to our family and guests as well as tourism that enriches our home city to visitors -such as parents of Binghamton U students. read more

Ordered take out, there was a small miscommunication when ordering as someone wanted chicken only for their drunken noodle and the menu lists that it comes with both chicken&shrimp. So our meals came without the vegetables. Besides that, the food was hot and very delicious! I should have made myself more clear during my order, but now I know for next time. I love the food here. The sauces and flavor is great. The only complaint is the orders get messed the first few times. And when the bill comes it never matches with the prices on the menu. It says $10.95 but the bill says $11.39? I'm assuming that includes tax but the total also gets taxed? And the menu doesn't specify how much extra it's for beef, shrimp or tofu, so I asked the waitress and she wasn't sure so she went to check the computer. She came back and told me, no extra for chicken, but $3.00 extra for tofu and if you want chicken and shrimp it's $4.55 extra. $4.55 for chicken and shrimp?? So if I want pad Thai chicken it's $11.39, but almost $16 if I wanted a few shrimps added? If I can recall I ordered that once and there was only 2 shrimps added. I didn't want to take that risk again. Again, I love the food here but they shouldn't keep customers in the dark with their prices.
