The appointment was at 5, but the previous massage took about 15 extra minutes so mine started around 5:18, and being me, I was there at 4:45 (on the website it says to come fill some forms, so I went earlier in case that takes unexpected time) so I waited a good amount with no one in the front desk. I was already frustrated by this time. Then around 5:20 we started, Roby first checked out my posture and got some idea of how my body is and gave me some feedback which was nice to know. Then the massage started. I had some lower back pain as well as some stiffness in my neck. I forgot to tell her about the neck but mentioned the lower back. I have no idea what kind of massage I went through, but it was a whole-body surface and some areas in deep tissue. It is an oily massage so expect that in your dressing. Starting from back upper/lower, right hand, left hand, right leg, left leg and flip over and almost the same on front. The massage table is fairly comfortable and the ambient was nice. I think the speaker quality could improve, maybe one of those wireless/Bluetooth Costco sound bars help!? The whole session took about 65 minutes (including some rest at the end) and I was done around 6:25. Roby does not rush the massage and does not compromise. At the end of massage, I was feeling comforted and satisfied even though there were some technical difficulties at the beginning (the ones mentioned above). The doorman was nice and polite. The Men's restroom surprisingly was locked and needed the passkey, so you better think twice if you plan to use the restroom there! The lady who we thought was the receptionist but was actually the female massage therapist did not ask for our preferences. The male massage therapist was late and we were ushered into the room. The therapist asked my husband the pressure and type of massage he wanted as he was laying face down on the table while my therapist asked me while I was sitting and facing her. My husband felt like it was strange and a tad unprofessional given the amount we were paying. The massage room was not insulated well from the construction sounds outside so that was also distracting, but it's New York City, so there's not much you can do about that. The massage overall was a Swedish massage was fine but we were looking forward to the hot stone portion which I had indicated in the scheduling email that we wanted it. It was not made known to us that we had to request it in person. Furthermore, the price of the massage did not include tip which was a bit surprising for us and given the overall experience we felt it was definitely not worth the rate per hour. We were provided a 10% first-time customer discount in the initial email which was not deducted during our payment after the massage and the female massage therapist told me that there was no discount when I mentioned it. There was confusion all around and we had to retroactively receive the discount from the initial scheduling person, so it seems like there's some disconnect between scheduling and staff working in office. Overall, it was unfortunately a disappointing experience as I was looking forward to giving my husband a relaxing massage for his birthday, but he came out feeling disappointed to say the least.

I made appointments for myself, my mom and my sister for my sister's birthday. I got to the place about 5 to 10 minutes prior to our appointments and my mom and sister were driving in from another borough. About 10 minutes after I got there, my mom called and said that she was outside in the car and could not physically leave the car. Her arthritis had unexpectedly flared up and she was in considerable pain. I explained the situation to the receptionist who said she understood and proceeded to speak to some unknown person stating "the client's mom can't come inside so they need to cancel". I then received a call from this unknown person who said that they could not waive the $300 deposit because she had people come in for our appointments (a lymphatic massage, a reflexology and a facial - something they should have staff on hand for anyway since they offer these services daily). I repeated what was happening with my mother and that if they were to make an exception in any situation, this would be it. She said that she didn't make the decisions and was communicating on behalf of the owner so I asked to speak to the owner and she refused - telling me that was just not possible. I asked her why, and to my disbelief, she said that she just couldn't let me talk to the owner. She then proceeded to insult me, saying that I should have prepared better and to add more insult to injury she said, and I quote "if $300 is that much of a problem for you, I don't know what to tell you". And then hung up. I can of course say the same about this business. If they care that little about their customers and if $300 is that much of a problem, this place should be out of business. In hindsight, I am glad this happened. If this place is that cheap, they would have been cheap with the treatments and I'm so glad we didn't take the risk. Take my experience as a cautionary tale - I would strongly encourage anyone who is thinking of getting a facial or a massage, please do not visit this establishment.
