I carry a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders, so when I'm stressed I can feel my whole upper body tighten up. Sometimes, it can be so tight that it's painful and will affect my posture even while walking. So whenever I feel that tension amounting, I'll often just get a quick chair massage somewhere just to loosen up the knots for a little relief. Nothing fancy needed, just an effective release. After taking the train up from NYC and schlepping around a heavy shoulder bag all day, I was so happy to see that Aquis was open late! I was able to walk here from the train station, walk right in and do a quick, 20 minute chair massage just to help loosen me up. The folks here seem super nice and accommodating. We could hear a couple moaning repeatedly in the room over. We called to say he'd like to redeem the coupon & book an appointment and there was an available appointment within an hour. When we got there, the woman said "WHY DID YOU BOOK ON THERE I TELL YOU TO BOOK HERE! YOU HAVE TO BOOK HERE- I TELL YOU THAT! NOW YOU HAVE TO PAY $10 TAX! HERE IS BETTER!" We were calm and my husband was kind and said "oh I booked it on the app first before making the appointment " and she repeated "YOU HAVE TO BOOK HERE NOW YOU HAVE TO PAY $10 TAX! YOU HAVE TO PAY HERE! I TELL YOU PAY HERE!" We were so in shock by this desk worker's reaction and attitude. We could not believe how she somehow expected us to know to pay in person and how it would be better if nothing on the coupon said so before purchasing. I must say the massage itself was great, it was just hard to relax at first because we were literally yelled at by this woman who is representing this spa. At the end of the massage, the massage therapists gave us a cup of water which was nice, then stayed standing like hawks, no smile, noting, awaiting their tips. Once we gave the their tips, they grabbed it and said thank you and walked away so fast. Again, a nice massage but the attitudes were poor. Please be kinder to people who's bodies are at your will. The shape was all the way off, the color was great but there was gel powder under my nail clumped up and she didn't apply the dip closer to my cuticle. I went back, and she did "Try" to fix it so I'll give her that but it just wasn't giving. The only words they seem to comprehend is cash and tips. For some grown out looking nails should've thrown in a free pedicure I might've (probably not) came back. My friend was getting a massage during the duration of my nail appointment and they took as long as possible to get the most $$ out of us and my nails are uneven. $200+ she didn't even use the UV light the first time so they can take longer First they said $55 for gel nails, then I assumed for tips and they said $80 then when I got them a little longer $85. So massage $90 + Nails $85 + $25 tip. Totally not the vibes, the turn on the AC for you and give you a hand massage then stare you down for a tip like girl I was going to tip you regardless, anyone else would've just ran off after the tip glue burning and the lack of ventilations. read more

This place was super easy to find, and we arrived a few minutes before our appointment (I called the day before to reserve). The ambience is super relaxing and clean. I thought it was interesting they have different sections for different services, all nicely divided. They also provide water while you're waiting for your appointment. Our appointment was at 5pm and we went into the room around 5:05pm and finished at 6:09pm so very true to time! The inside was much larger than I expected, and it was soooo relaxing. My husband and I, who live nearby, came for a couples massage. Had always gone to a foot spa in Chelsea but decided to give this more local place a try. Our massages were good, especially for the price. Not what we were used to at other places as these massages were more of a full body rub than a massage; meaning they used mostly their palms and forearms. Also, the entire massage was done while laying on your stomach where they focused mostly on mid to lower back. I would have given 4 stars as the place was very welcoming, clean, pretty and quiet. Both masseuses were friendly and respectful. HOWEVER, upon paying, not only did the woman at the desk scoff at our 30% tip, but when I showed her my 20% off coupon for using Yelp to check-in, she insisted it was conditional on my leaving a 5 star review. I just walked in this place on Valentine's Day evening, when I wanted charge some positive energy to play music with my friend amazing musician Alon Yavnai in Manhattan. Took bus ride from Boston and had my trumpets repaired, walked around city for few errands and boy was I glad I stepped in this place without an appointment !! Immediate accommodation at front desk, a few staffs made me feel home and I knew it was going to be awesome experience and whole thing was really good. when you see therapists walking around, you can tell these are not cheasy fake people pretending to be pro therapist, all men and women (yeah, they have a lot and quite busy) have serious hands and feet standing shows how they are experienced. As myself is Ki-gong Kung-Fu, few Japanese Aikido / Judo practitioner, we have certainly a type of body development especially on how we even stand. They all (of course I didn't see them all therapists) had serious ones. Oh well after hard week and trip / walk around city, I think I could perform at the best I could without any warm ups at all on my trumpets playing. pretty good deal on massages here. its $55 (cash) or $60 (card) for an hour. i decided to do 30 mins body massage and 30 mins foot massage. i guess the man i spoke to didnt tell the female masseuse what i asked for because she ended up giving me a one hour body massage. i fell asleep during and asked her about the foot massage as soon as i woke up since i had no concept of time but knew it had been awhile. turns out we just got to the hour mark. i asked a few more questions bc i was frustrated that i didnt get what i asked for. she offered to give me a few minutes of the foot massage to make up for the mix up. the lady in the front came into the room not long after saying its been an hour. we explained what happened and the lady told my masseuse to go ahead with the full 30 min foot massage. do note that if you ask for the 30 body + 30 foot, they'll massage your feet instead of your legs but if you do a full hour of body then they'll do upper and lower body. i left feeling much more relaxed and noticed most of the tension had left my body so it was a pretty good massage. the sheet used to cover me for the massage looked like it had some stains on it but the facility looked clean otherwise. when i got home there was an itchy spot on my neck and my ankle which seemed like it may have been from a bug bite. this was the only place i went to that was out of my routine so the most likely place i may have been bitten. i treated it when i got home and the spots were gone the next day so hard to say what it actually was. they gave me a stamp card and a little cup of water after i paid. apparently theres 20% off offer if you show them the yelp page and check in or something but i forgot to do it. i'll probably come back so will try it next time. also note that the staff doesnt speak english well. i speak mandarin and that was still slightly tough with them. read more

The moment I walked in, one of a group of three women who were sitting around doing nothing got up and irritatedly exclaimed, "What now? What does this woman want?" This place was a great place to get a last min massage. It is very clean and easy for me to get to as I was at the Moxy. With the Yelp check in you get an additional 20 mins of feet massage + the hour long for $55. Not bad! I did notice there was a Groupon but I don't think that compared to this offer so I would go with it. Pay by cash so don't have to pay the taxes.
