The Lao sausage was delicious and a step up from the frozen version I had before. The beef laab was better than expected given that it's a Thai restaurant, not a Laotian restaurant. My love for Thai Village grows after every visit. The staff is so friendly and quick, always on the move to ensure you are met with the best service. I wish I had more photos, but everything I have ordered has always been consistent and delicious. Any of the curries- will not disappoint. So much flavor and it comes with a good portion of rice I like to soak it in. The spicy basil rice - banger. Simple fried rice but elevated to tantalize your tastebuds, leaving you wanting more... except you will have more!! the portions will always leave you with a lil extra something (unless you have succumb to the sin of gluttony - which is okay but these are fairly large portions) You definitely get your moneys worth. It is easy to have a pricier bill when you order a little bit of everything - which I often do, but I too am a gluttonous pig. Anyways, photographed is the chicken Pad Thai Bangkok style. Truly a treat I itch for when lunchtime comes. My stomach knows the void it is and this pad thai easily satisfies the calling. If that is not enough for you, add the egg rolls or even the crab rangoon (sooo yum) - again you cannot go wrong with anything on this menu. Perfect lunchtime spot for to-go or even dine in they are always so on top of it they do not leave you waiting for long. It has never been crowded when I've gone, but real ones know the divine cuisine inside. It is a quiet and calming presence. I wouldn't mind birthing my child in this establishment. First time at this Thai restaurant, but Wichita KS has a plethora of awesome and authentic restaurants, and this one did not disappoint. It is not a huge restaurant but has a decent amount of seating and it is close to the AF base. Originally planned to get our food to go. I ordered glass noodle pad thai and crab rangoons with imitation crab, which I appreciate because I'm allergic to real crab, and I also got mango with sticky rice for dessert. We got our food quickly, and we ended up changing our minds at the last minute and eating in the restaurant with our friend. Can I tell you that food was fresh and hot!! The portions were huge!! I ate this for 3 separate meals, so I definitely got my monies worth. The glass noodles took the pad thai to another level, but they have lots of pad thai to try, including the traditional kind. The crab rangoons had a nice amount of stuffing as well. The sticky rice was awesome, the mango was sweet, and milk was the perfect amount of sweetness. Although they have good food here, I was extremely disappointed when I came in 45 minutes before closing and told I couldn't dine in. There were only 2 of us and we would've been in and out in 25 minutes. As a prior restaurant manager, I would've never refused a customer with that much time left. Great food and service! The lady at the front was also the waitress, and she was friendly and efficient. They had nice calm background music playing the entire time we were there. We didn't know what to have for appetizers, so we just did their egg rolls. They were great and had a nice crisp! It was also suitable for my 11 month old to chew on. The flat noodle pad thai not only had great flavor, but it had a good spice to it too. Many pad thais in Wichita don't have the authentic peanuts, bean sprouts, and lime wedge on the side. There's always something missing. But this place knows their stuff! Both my wife and I ordered medium spiciness. My wife enjoyed her drunken noodle. They had jalapenos in there for an extra kick if you wanted it. My son's fried rice was nice and mellow in flavor; exactly what you want for a kid who isn't too big on spice. You walk into a dark and dingy restaurant. Our thoughts "Owwwwwh this place is going to be good!" Sat down in this busted a$$ chairs that had you sink all the way in. We all ordered the tappy water that tasted like it was mixed with bleach. Mmmmm, yum! We ordered a lot of food to try. Laos style papaya salad-HELLA Salty Pho-Salty KaoPietSen-Salty KaPoon-Salty Sticky rice Seafood Salad Fried Rice-So crispy, my poor teef (teeth)! Oh, don't ask the waitress what's in the dish because her answer will leave you dumbfounded. People have allergies in this world, and to not be sure about a dish should make you want to ask the cooks instead of saying, "I'm pretty sure or I think!" Let me not order that dish or better yet, let me not patronize your restaurant because my life is more valuable than you walking ten feet to ASK the cooks if they use or can they make something without this ingredient for their customers! Finally had a chance to try Thai Village. I met a few friends here on the weekend. I happened to be the first on there at 6:30 and was surprised that it wasn't busy since there aren't very many Thai restaurants in Wichita. I ordered the Spicy Thai Basil Fried Rice and an order of fried egg rolls. Sadly, the rice was mushy and lacked the basil taste that I really wanted. My friends and I had to ask for hot sauce to add extra heat. The hunt for good Thai basil fried rice is still underway. Our waitress was attentive and our drinks were never empty. I'm pretty picky about my Thai food. My favs to order/try out at Thai restaurants are the noodle dishes (Lad Na, Pad See Ewe, or Pad Kee Mao/Drunken Noodles). So I ended up ordering the Drunken Noodles and got it at a Hot spice level and it sure was spicy! Spicier than the Lad Na and papaya salad which was also Hot. But I'm happy to report the noodles were tasty and I would definitely order again! The portions are plentiful. We had a lot of leftovers. The papaya salad, we got it made Lao style.. it was really good. This restaurant surprised me in all the right ways! From the outside of it, I was skeptical. I ordered the pad see ew and was pleasantly surprised to find that they use fresh flat noodz -- the kind that's thick, chewy, and absorbs all the good tasty flavors of pad see ew. Also, I was impressed that they had bok choy -- classically seen in traditional Thai pad see ew. The downside of the dish: it was a little too salty and not as sweet, but this may have been just personal preference. Also, the bok choy as tasty as it was, it was ridiculously cut where it was too large to eat in one bite and overall difficult to eat in several bites! Other than this, the dish satisfied all cravings. My friend ordered pad thai and from the bite that I had it passed inspection and hit the spot. We also ordered a couple of thai iced tea which was thick, creamy, and sweet -- perfect for a hot day or just to satisfy a sweet tooth. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant!
