I remembered Bonefish to be an upscale good restaurant for dining, for a special occasion. I hadn't been there for maybe 8-10 years. I was excited to take a couple friends last evening. The food was good, but not over the top. what happened to the warm bread? no salad or side dish. Just the main course for twice the price you'd get anywhere else. very disappointed. Word of mouth is the best advertisement. I will share my experience (or lack of good vibe) with family and friends. I will not return unless I hear you have a new marketing strategy or plan to attract customers. You can't coast along much longer by depending on the clientele in your 'upscale' location. you need to reach out to the average public. come up with a plan that will attract business. For gosh sakes, add items to your menu so that a person doesn't think "I paid $29 for this??!" Add Bread, salad, include another item... You might need to take advice from Texas Roadhouse. You see why they have customers willing to wait 40 minutes for a table!! read more

Spending the weekend at home again so we decided to come back to Bonefish. We just love this place - very cozy and the service is always great! This time we tried the Ocean Mixed Grill for 2. We were so glad we did! While waiting for our food, Chris and I talked about stopping by another restaurant to get something light. Holy cow! The drinks here are a 10/10 but the menu items are somewhat of a hit or miss for me. I don't care for any of their grilled fish items they don't taste fresh and have a burnt aftertaste. Called last minute on a Friday evening at 6:00 PM for a party of 7 and got right in! Greeted by the hostesses and seated within 5 minutes. Server was friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. I had the lobster ravioli and it was amazing, bread was fresh and warm, and the cocktails were really good. We used to really like Bonefish. But after tonight, we will most likely not be returning. Our food was just really just ok. We ordered the grouper, Chilean sea bass and a burger. One of us eats gluten free which we explained to our server. A mistake was made with our drink order (not big deal--these happen) but after it was pointed out, we were treated very rudely by the wait staff. Our food plates were literally dropped on our table without comment. The sea bass was flavorless and the asparagus overcooked. It was just an all around disappointing experience. This is one of our favorite restaurants to visit when we are on the road. We like the dim lighting, candles on the table, and cozy atmosphere. This stop, I tried the special of Butterfish. It was served with steamed spinach and topped with crab. It also came with two sides of which I chose garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was very good. Learned my lesson -- don't order a fillet from a seafood restaurant. It was so chewy and tough even with it being medium rare. We usually have a great experience here so I hate complaining but my husband, baby and I all came for my first Mother's Day and left so sad and overwhelmed. It was so loud, so overcrowded (which is fine but the tables were a lot closer together than normal), and the music was turned up. I ordered a drink (my husband didn't) but they brought out two instead, which is fine because we had them send one back since he wasn't drinking but we were still charged for that drink. It took so long for our server to bring our check so we didn't say anything to have it taken off. Which made me pretty upset.. I know it was mainly because I was overwhelmed by the whole ambiance of the restaurant but I saw our server standing at the bar, talking to the bartender while watching a basketball game for 10 minutes before finally stopping by. It may have been longer but it was 10 minutes from when I finally spotted him standing there. Overall, I was so sad about this whole experience. This was a great place for us to go after a training we had! It's definitely pricey so it's not somewhere I'd go often but my sister loves it and kept recommending it. We tried the bang bang shrimp, crab ragoon dip and there was something else but definitely worth it to get the bang bang shrimp! We also got so many drinks I can't even remember the best one but thinking about flavors if you like something a bit more on the spicy crunchy side ho with the Bang Bang Shrimp!! My signature pasta with the salmon was amazing!!! The salmon was cooked to flaky perfection. And the pasta was full of flavor plus I finished it all!! I will say it's a decent portion if I hadn't been starving it would've been enough to share but not this time! Lastly if you're feeling like you need a drink try the pomegranate martini, It's sweet and refreshing and does the trick! Only thing I really disliked is that they initially told us it would be a 25 min wait then it went to 40 and every time we asked they would say "oh 10 more minutes ..." we waited about an hour 20... if they would've given us an over estimation of how long it would be we would've gone somewhere else before the dinner rush and not have had to wait so long or have other restaurants fill up and extend their wait times. The food was good and our waiter was awesome!!! BUT the hostess who greeted us (giving first impressions) apparently would have rather been anywhere but at her job and it showed. My boyfriend and I came here to grab some dinner before our movie and had a great time! We started out with some drinks, complimentary bread and their famous Bang Bang Shrimp. I ordered the Hawaiian Orchid Martini and my goodness, it was the best martini I've ever had! It consisted of guava rum, pineapple juice, pear and lime, and had a little orchid on top. Yum!! My boyfriend had the Chilean Sea Bass, which was cooked perfectly. I had the Imperial Atlantic Wolffish, which was stuffed with shrimp, scallops and crab meat with a lemon caper butter sauce on top. Both of our dishes were flavorful and the fish was made wonderfully tender! The service was amazing as well! Our food was served by who I assume is the chef in the white chef jacket and hat. The only positive thing I can say about Bonefish grill is the pesto and warm bread to dip it into. We got there about 6:15 and put in our order at 6:30.
