We just moved to the Killeen area and wanted to start finding some of our favorite foods. We came here to try based on a majority of the reviews, I have to say I'm not sure how the rating is so high. The food was edible but definitely not worth the money. I got pad Thai and it tasted very strange (don't know how to explain). For three of us to eat here it was $55, and one was a child! I will say the facility was very clean and great customer service, but I'm pretty positive we won't go back. We will be trying a different Thai restaurant. read more

This place was pretty good. It's like a mom and pop type place with old Thai people working there. For example, you get can sodas while dining in. But all in all they were super friendly, explained the menu to me and my wife (it was basically all in Thai or whatever) and the food was overall pretty darn solid, I didn't want to give it four stars because some might not prefer the "hole in the wall Thai place" vibe. read more

I used to frequent their restaurant in Harker Heights, and I'm so happy they're back....best tom ka gai soup ever!!! Love the curries, the veggie stir fry, the pad thai...they've got it all. Im sorry but any one who says that this place is good must not know what true thai food taste like. Its actually a disgrace how they're thai and yet their food taste so.... yuck! Their pad see ew was not satisfying AT ALL! The noodle was hard and it was not so flavorful. The fried rice had no taste. It was plain and unenjoyable. The sea food tum yum was alright. That was probably the best thing there. The service was horrible as well. Not only do the people not know what they are doing they looked awfully confused when you asked them a simple question. If this is the best in town then i have lost all hope for thai food in this area. THIS is what makes me miss California! The thai food here has absolutely NOTHING on the places in California. People claim that this thai restaurant is "best" but really now? Maybe i should bring all of you to a thai restaurant in Cali so you guys can know how true thai food is supposed to taste like. read more

Ordered the Pad Prik Khing, which I've never had any restaurant mess up, but I have to say this place fell short. The sizes of chicken cuts were excellent, the green beans were okay (but I thought cut a ltoo short to visually appeal), but the main issue? Hardly any sauce! Usually Pad Prik Khing is drenched with sauce, so I can soak some rice in it, but it was in short supply on my dish a couple of days ago. It was served on a flat dish, so what little sauce there was had already fallen underneath the food. Even soaking the rice in it, it disappeared quickly, so I had to ration it out as I ate my food. I was going to ask for more sauce, but the real issue is service was a one-man show (despite being somewhat busy), and one man was doing all the front-of-house work. Thus, I was never even able to flag down the server to ask for more sauce as I finished my meal. I tried my friend's green curry sauce (because I had ran out of sauce for my own rice) and I thought that was a little watery as well. Was it bad? No. Was it great? Definitely not. Maybe I'll try the Pad Thai next time, I will at least give this place another shot. read more

I absolutely love eating at Tham Rab Thai! I went months without giving them a try when my Wife would ask me to try it for lunch with her. I am/was the type of person who didn't like tasting foods that I wasn't familiar with. I've only tried around three dishes from Tham Rab and they were all great! My favorite meal is their Chicken Fried Rice (Thai Spicy)! The fried rice you get from a Chinese restaurant has nothing on fried rice from Tham Rab! I love adding a side of Chicken egg rolls...so good! Another great side would be the Chicken Satay. Both of these are really appetizers in case you are looking for them on the "sides" menu. Another dish I love would be the No.52 Beef Pad... it's just absolutely delicious. Customer service here has always been great. The staff and cook are always polite and respectful. Restaurant is well taken care of by looking at it's cleanliness. If you are like how I was I say step out of your comfort zone and give this place a try. read more

The best part about coming to this restaurant was leaving. I'm not kidding. My girlfriend and I had come here out of curiosity since we are Thai food veterans. The overall positive reviews had already convinced us that we were making a good decision, so the comfort level upon entering was already high. We ordered pad thai, pad see ew, and tom yum soup. Although the service was great, the food was absolutely gross. The noodles in the pad see ew were drenched in oil and the overall taste was disgusting. The pad thai was OK, but the noodles were clumped together and the sauce they used was NOT even close to the sauce that the other numerous establishments we've gone to all over the country have used. I'm a huge fan of taking your own spin on a dish, so as long as it's good, but dubya-tee-eff...?! The tom yum was OK, but nothing to go crazy about. I believe we ordered crab fried rice as well, but after tasting the other dishes, we just asked for to-go plates and bailed the hell out of there, celebratorily dumping the food in the trash can outside of the restaurant. The 2-star rating is because of the good service. The waiter even asked us if everything was OK because he noticed that were weren't enjoying our food. Besides that, I couldn't bring myself to ever eat here again. Thai food lovers, you have been warned! read more

The best place in killeen for Thai curry! Every time I've been here the food is consistently amazing.

The buffet is excellent for a buffet. the line is kept fresh by making small batches so that they are consistently fresh. The individual items are tasty and well cooked. The staff in friendly and efficient., Not the greatest Thai food in the area, but good. This is a great place to dart in eat lunch and dart back out. to work. I have ordered off the menu here and the food is served well spiced (you better know that mild = hotter than hell). This is a yoeman's Thai food, definitely not the best in the area. read more

Surprised that this little hole in the wall had such flavorful food. I asked the waitress to bring me something sweet with coconut milk, pineapple, and chicken - she delivered an awesome curry that was well-rounded with flavor. This place is AMAZING! For anybody who is tired of the same old fast food/generic places around Killeen...this is the place for you. My husband is not the most adventurous person with food so after some convincing he agreed to go try it out. Tham Rab Thai is located in a strip mall and is easy to miss if you aren't looking. The restaurant is simple on the decor but they have signs all over saying they appreciate soldiers which is really nice. They also have a few televisions playing and they had the food network on so that was enjoyable. My husband ordered the chicken egg rolls as an appetizer and they were nice and hot when they came out and came with a good dipping sauce. When it came time to order we decided on the Hawaiian fried rice, Pineapple fried rice which was the same as the Hawaiian just without the curry powder and cashew nuts. We also got an order of the red curry with chicken. When they brought out the food we realized we ordered way too much. The portions are HUGE! Everything was so good and very filling and by the time we were done it didn't even seem like we made a dent in all that food. We will be having some great leftovers. The people who work there were very nice and came by to check on us a few times and always kept our waters filled. This is the best Thai place we have been to and we will most definitely be back! read more

If you like pad thai you're in luck! There's is really good! The wait is never long and the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. Only recommendation is if you don't like spicy foods tell them bc all the dishes are naturally pretty spicy. read more

i have eaten there 3 times since the owners sold it to a new thai family...the food is going down hill..each time i tried somethin different and the flavor is lacking the pow the old owners put in it..from the chicken wings to the fried rice and chicken laab...it is under seasoned and is getting to be more and more bland..i hope they pick it up cause i would hate to see this place go under. read more
