I'm honestly sorry to give you one star rating (this one star is for the service only). I'm really really upset today. I ordered 6 dishes for a table ($495/table), everything seem fine but the hot pot is not ok. There's no noodle to eat with hot pot soup; and on my table, my hotpot didn't have any meat or seafood at all, only vegetables in it, and why you guy cooked it before we come there, the hot pot looks like a mess. You guys only give me the noodle to eat with the hotpot for togo only. And finally the check, I have problem and concern with the check, I didn't have anybody explaining to me on the 1st day I came there that it will have separate tip at the end, I got trick from you guys. Kowloon restaurant they always explain everything and also let me know that the tip will included in the price per one table, but Thanh Thanh did not. So we started bringing my in-laws here for dinner and they love it as well. Smart decision on our part because normally I would order the 7 course beef meal but now I leave the ordering up to them. The parents have been ordering the specials and a few items from the seafood menu every time we visit here. Our new line up from the menu.. lobster with ginger & scallion (full), crispy fried striped sea bass, spicy grilled lemongrass squid, goi bo (beef sallad), beef 3 ways (grilled platter from 7course) and either their pan fried crispy noodles or chow fun. Unacceptable service. My boyfriend went up to walk around with the venue with the groom for a moment and while he was gone, the servers decided the party at the table was done with their food and threw everything away when they didn't even take a single bite of their meal. My boyfriend was looking forward to eating his meal only to come back to see that they threw all his food away. As someone who works in the industry, you should not assume that anyone is done unless you ask them. He did not get to eat a single bite of his food. It seems like they have no regard for the guests and just want to get their job done without making sure everyone got to eat. Whole plates of untouched lobster and fried rice were thrown away. How unacceptable and disappointing. Lazy servers. Money wasted. Why would you throw away dishes of food when it's obvious no one got to even take a bite? I had great experience at Thanh Thanh. It was my first time visiting a Vietnamese restaurant that is not a pho place. I went with my Vietnamese friends, so they ordered everything for our table. I believe we had 7 course beef dishes. I really enjoyed everything! From Shabu-shabu styled make-your-own spring roll to porridge, everything was delicious. I get more and more disappointed by this place the more I go to it. I feel sorry that people are so limited to choices of locations for weddings, because the food during the weddings aren't even good and the service here is absolutely horrible! Today I flagged down this waiter and every time he would give me the "one moment finger" and walk away. That's so rude! And each time the waiter was near my table I would say excuse me so I could get a plastic spoon or what not for my child and he just ignored me. It was horrible. Have been there in awhile, but stopped for dinner from The Cowboys Game- we had a blast at the game because Cowboys were at their best beating the RAMS- The foods were horrible- the quails were Fried on the OLD oil and the rice was too mushy and OLD at least a day from the rice cooker- we had those at home some days and had to throw out but ate it here because we were hungry- We told them but they brought us the same thing. WEDDING REVIEW- 2.5 stars Came here for my beautiful friend's wedding reception. I was actually very impressed with the setup for the reception. The walls were completely draped with white curtains and had changing colored lights on the ground. The servers were very attentive and quickly switched out full/dirty plates. I was disappointed in the quality of food. I know weddings have a reputation of having poor quality food, but that's why people choose their reception at the restaurant so there is no excuse. One of the entrees were fried shrimp balls and there wasnt even enough for the table. The peking duck was not very crispy and the meat was dry. As for the lobster noodles, they were very generous with the noodles. not so much on the lobster. My friend paid and booked the restaurant until midnight. However, around 10:30 restuarant workers were already tearing down the curtains. By 11:30, table tops were cleared and completely emptied. We felt rushed to leave. My friend was not even able to have her last dance with her new husband. I was also told that the menu was set and prices were confirmed a few months prior to the wedding, however the owner requested that more money needed to paid closer to the wedding date due to change in food prices. read more

If Yelp were all about the taste of the regular food menu, then honestly this place would get 4 stars from me BUT (and I capitalized it because it is a huge BUT), this is an overall rating of the place so it only gets two stars. First off, if this place had stayed in the regular location, it would have gotten 5 stars from me for food and service although the actual restaurant definitely looks better now. As with all businesses, when they strive to grow and get bigger, they care more about the taste and service but when they get there, they're more into greed and less about what got them there...this place is no different. The important part...the FOOD: I have to say that the regular menu food here is quite good...at least the signature dishes. Everyone who comes there must try the "Beef 7 Ways." You have to have another eating partner with you for this as it serves a minimum of two people. The quick lunch menu is also quite good...try the grilled meat skewers on rice. Now why I chose to use the term "regular menu" is because their other dishes...specifically ones that they serve at weddings, are BAD...not bad as in good like the kids say...but bad as in BAD. I believe that the only reason people have their wedding there is because the place looks nice and can hold a lot of people...and if you're Asian, then you can't find another place anywhere around here...YET. Which brings me to the next part and why they get only two stars. I know a bunch of people that had their wedding held there and NONE of them were happy with the outcome(I myself have attended at least 10 weddings there.) They said they could live with the food being poor, but they didn't expect the service to be THAT bad...especially on their wedding day. At one wedding, they ran out of ice and actually said that they would not provide any more and that the couple should send someone out to get it. The servers were just people they could find to work and untrained. I don't mind tattoos but if you're serving at a wedding, I would figure that you should cover up what you can instead of rolling up your sleeves to showcase them. Other than that, they are just flat out SHADY. I won't get into the details about it, but just take it for what it is. Bottom line, go have lunch there if you're looking for some pretty good Viet food...DON'T HAVE YOUR WEDDING THERE! We came for late lunch and most of the wait staff was eating lunch at this time so we didn't get attended to for a while but once we ordered, they cooked it very fast. The meat was tender and flavorful. The portion size was good for sharing too! I'm sure people probably share it with a few people but my husband and I were very hungry so we ate it all! I saw a few tables had the bo 7 mon, I'll probably be trying this out the next time I visit! Thanh Thanh needs to change some things in their restaurant. It's been awhile since I've been here, but this past weekend I decided to drive out for another taste and it was very different from what I was used to. Perhaps it's the recession that's hitting them hard or they changed managers, but it was definitely a disappointment. This restaurant is glorified for their "Bo 7 Mon" which is basically "7 beef course meal" where they bring out 7 courses of beef with herbs, lettuce, vegetables, and rice paper and you roll up your own spring rolls. If you don't want to risk ordering too much there are single dishes you can ask for. It depends on what you're looking for and what you're willing to pay. My sister and I ordered a dish of beef (bo nuong vi) and shrimp (tom nuong vi). These were two separate orders about $20 a piece. The waiters brought out one plate of beef with 4 pieces of shrimps and then another plate of vegetables. We thought at first they had made a mistake but then they didn't bring us another plate of shrimp. So we paid $20 for 4 pieces of shrimps. I'm not cheap, but dang, the shrimps were small... We'd also ordered some coconut drinks - Suong Sa Hot Luu.. this is my favorite coconut drink. It has green beans, jelly, crushed ice, and coconut milk. Every restaurant has their own rendition of how to make this drink and so far Thanh Thanh has to be the creamiest. If you like creamy drinks, you'd like this. I personally dislike creamy drinks like this so it wasn't my favorite. Luckily this restaurant has one thing they cannot wrong - rice porridge (chao). I don't know how they prepare it, but their chao is amazing. If I'm ever in Arlington I'd probably just go here for the porridge. I don't like Hong Kong style porridge that much because it's so thick. Thanh Thanh's porridge's consistency is amazing. It's not too thin or too thick. It's unfortunate I have to give Thanh Thanh low ratings, maybe next time when I come they'll be much better. They used to be my favorite spring roll restaurant to eat at, but now I think I'm going to stick to the restaurants in Richardson/Garland. Happy eatings. read more

I finally made it out to Arlington and tried this restaurant based on my buddy Tiffany's suggestion to try the 7 course beef meal. Needless to say I was not disappointed. I have never had this meal before and it is a lot of food but like most VN dishes they are light on the protein and more on the vegetable and rice side. Plus it is BYOB. How can you complain? I would rate this restaurant better for the anchovy/pineapple sauce then Saigon Block. It was all a hit for me. Thank god. Not sure if it is worth a drive out to Arlington though. read more

We came here for a wedding reception - the space was transformed really nicely to accommodate 100 of guests. You did not feel like you were sitting at a restaurant. The food was hands down the best I've had at a wedding, if you're going to serve food in bulk, Asian food is the way to go. Highlights include the sea bass and steak with asparagus. Lobster was a bit tricky to eat, I think they could have cut it open a little more so it was easier to get the meat out. I've lived in Arlington for two years now and this place has always been a short walk from the apartment. I never went in since the only times I even came to the lot it was always packed and required valet parking. Enter Pokemon GO and my wife-to-be and I find that the fountain in front is a Pokestop, so rather than drive we walked to justify going to the Fro-Yo next to it. I wanted real food and not ice cream so I finally ventured in. The service was top notch for an afternoon with hardly any wait for the food. I ordered the fried egg roll and the grilled pork dish and was left in what I could best describe as a euphoric stupor. The meat was juicy and nicely spiced and the veggies were crisp and fresh cut. The price for it all easily trumped the neighboring Pho 95 and generally has a more comfortable atmosphere. If you live around Arkansas and 360 and especially if you use Pokemon GO, you can't beat comfy eating while catching a few Charmanders. read more

The food was decent, but definitely understaffed and the restaurant itself was relatively clean and nice, but wasn't good enough to keep me from coming back. We were probably 1 of maybe 10 families there that night and it wasn't a busy night whatsoever. We were a party of 20 BUT in our defense this is not just a "normal" sized restaurant, but more of a banquet sized one. Which means you should be used to a particularly large party OR should be equipped to handle a busy night. BUT it wasn't busy and we weren't even demanding as a group. The whole night when we were dining here they didn't even bother to refill any of our waters, didn't clear the table when new entrees/dishes were presented...even though they were right there AND it was clearly visible. The only time they would remove a dish or refill is when we had to specifically asked...AND even then they would "forget" and never refill. We asked for new bowls probably more than 3 times and they "forgot" each time. And there was maybe 3 servers the whole night manning what seemed to have been a 5-8 server night. But whether or not they were understaffed they didn't bother to check up on many of their customers, we heard the same thing happening at other tables which was really disappointing to hear. You could clearly see the 3 servers standing aloof talking to one another while customers are looking visibly annoyed. Knowing this I would never arrange a large event here...EVER. The hot pot we ordered they gave us extremely large serving spoons, which was annoying because the circumference of the pot was probably 2 inches while the spoon was meant for 3 inches or larger. The entire night we asked for a new serving spoon and did we even get it? Nope...not ever. We ended up using our own spoon to scoop out the soup... Overall, I didn't enjoy the service so much. The food was good itself, although nothing too special compared to the multitude of Vietnamese restaurant in the area. Food is okay. It's overpriced for the portions they give you. It seems that throughout the years they have been in business the service and quality of the food has gradually declined. I went here during lunch time with my fiance and decided that I was craving some Banh Xeo while my fiance ordered the Bo Luc Lac. I was so disappointed when I was eating my banh xeo, it was stuff a shipload with bean sprouts and only had two smalls pieces of pork in it. Yes, it was advertised as having pork and bean sprouts in it! GRR.. I felt cheated and the dish cost about $8... yes for banh xeo. Anyways, the Bo Luc Lac wasn't as tender as it should have been. It was too overpriced, $12. Mind you, this was lunch time. The restaurant itself looks nice, but the service lacks... just like typical Vietnamese restaurants always do. read more

Oh, Thanh Thanh, how you have changed. I visit about once a year. It'd been a while since I returned and I have my favorites from the Bo 7 Mon dishes (you can order servings of your preferred dishes, or do the whole 7 dish spread). My favorites are bo la lot (beef mixture wrapped in a Hawaiian leaf), bo cha dum (beef patty with mushrooms and peas, with rice crackers), and chao bo (beef & rice porridge). On my recent visit, I ordered these dishes and the food quality and taste is just not there anymore. The leaf in the bo la lot was too burnt, which made it bitter and unappetizing with the burnt, black specks. The seasoning in the bo cha dum has definitely changed, and the patties are smaller. The chao was lukewarm, and seemed like a left-over. Based on this experience, I don't foresee returning. Being that it's a longer drive for me, I expect the food to be stellar. Thanh Thanh used to be the best at what it did, but the food quality has gone down and it is not worth the drive or price anymore. I'll much prefer visiting a few places in the Garland area that offer better Vietnamese options. read more

Although this has been put in the "Chinese" category, Thanh-Thanh is actually a Vietnamese restaurant. I used to go every month or so with a group of work friends, one of whom is Vietnamese, and the food has always been delicious. The lunch prices are ridiculously inexpensive, and the restaurant is amazingly beautiful. It's in a weird strip mall with a Hyena's comedy club and about 42 Vietnamese video stores, but once you walk inside - what a surprise! The interior has always reminded me of the lobby of a beautiful hotel (and the far reaches of the HUGE divide-able dining area are usually being prepared for weddings or some other special events). I recommend the cool noodles for lunch - lots of rice noodles, served cold, with plenty of fresh veggies, and many choices of toppings - the chicken is delicious, as is the egg roll, pork sausage and shrimp combination. For lunch, it is around $5. Can't beat it! Definitely give it a try. read more

The place is huge and the interior design is really nice. I really like the giant fountain with plants. I tried their shaken beef (bò lúc lác). It was about $14, thought it was too pricey. However, it was plenty for two. The bowl of rice was huge. The meat and it's sauce was really good. It was Soft and not too chewy. I ate most of it without the dipping sauce. It tasted like lemon mixed with pepper. It seemed to ruin the taste of the beef and was more suited for seafood. The lemonade I had tasted like diet, which I really dislike. It was too sweet. The service was pretty good. The place was almost empty so there isn't much work for the employees anyways. read more

My family loves eating here and several of my aunts (and cousin) had their wedding receptions here (surprise, surprise!). I also had my college graduation party here. The food is good, especially the calamari. My parents love the sea bass they serve here. I usually order the beef with water spinach, yummmmm! We eat here when we are in town. The Bo Luc Lac (Shaken Beef) is usually reallygood, but it really depends on the day/cook when you're there. I have had AMAZING bo luc lac and not so good too. Oh, by the way, kind of the same deal with the calamari. The most recent occasion, the calamari was SO good, I almost ate the entire plate by myself! I believe the only dish that I've never been impressed with here is the Pho, beef noodle soup. The broth lacks flavor, but little kids love it! The food here is a little on the expensive side, but it's great for a romantic evening or just to treat yourself to some delicious Vietnamese food. The space is big, clean, nice entrance with a big waterfall/garden, huge restrooms and always very clean. Came here for a wedding and had average food. The lobster was difficult to eat as it was mostly just shells on a plate and hardly any meat in it. The shrimp balls were very small and didn't really to be a size to just serve one to each person at the table at. The fried rice was hardly fried at all, it still was mostly just white rice.The bird's nest was soggy at the bottom and was difficult to break off. I understand that there is pressure to cook quick during weddings, but the portions for each dish were disappointingly small. For the duck and baos, they had enough baos for each person at the table, but only a small amount of duck meat that allowed each of us to only grab 1 or 2 small pieces of duck each. My family has had wedding after wedding here. The most recent wedding was a month ago in which I was a part of the bridal party. Initially they had promised they would feed the bridal party and parents ahead of time, even though they knew that there were 8 groomsmen and 8 bridesmaids. When we got there, they only offered enough food to feed 10 people instead of the 24 we have. Now I usually love the food and can't wait to attend the weddings for this specific reason. BUT this time, every entree arrived cold, and unfortunately the portions continuously get smaller. Servers forget to serve tables the dishes and drinks. It consistently took 2-3 tries before we could get what we requested. The restrooms were disgusting. I attended a wedding at this restaurant venue. I found the food to be nothing spectacular. We were so excited for the lobster dish on the menu for dinner, but there was hardly any lobster in the dish. The quail dish was a little too bony and not enough meat. I ve been to this restaurant so many time, one of the biggest Vietnamese restaurants in Texas. Some busy weekends, they handle 3-4 wedding at the same time. plenty of Chinese-vietnamese food to choose but a little bit over-priced. I would just recommend this place to big group/ event. read more
