I thought it just wasn't meant to be but Cindy stepped in and completely changed that. She told me they could tailor it for me, took my measurements right away, and even asked how I wanted the arms to fit so it would feel perfect. I was so impressed by the attention to detail and care she gave. Three days later, just in time for my birthday, I picked it up and it fit beautifully. Good selection compared to the other shops. My friend came here so I ended up coming here too. I should have done a bit more research for a better experience. Most of their selection is made from polyester, not silk. Come with thick skin or a seasoned haggler that speaks Vietnamese. It's going to be an authentic experience. But honestly, just go elsewhere. read some reviews on yelp or buy earlier online and get it tailored yourself. There are other locations outside of this mall. They're not very consistent with their prices. No price tags either. Definitely haggle. After we bought it they told another customer it was $50 for her. We understand the language. The ao dai I bought had a painted design. The lady said if it falls off after wash she will reimburse me in full. So they stand by their quality. They were nice to us since we were the first to walk in. By the end of the hour they got very rude. Those one/two star reviews are not exaggerated. They asked if we spoke Vietnamese and we said no, but we did understand the language. We didn't hide that we understood the language. Plenty of bad experiences. They went into my changing room to grab heels for another customer to wear while I was half undressed. Towards the end of the hour they started talking shit about us saying we were being difficult when we were just trying multiple ao dais. We just asked for size up from the current one. That's it. The lady had to remind a coworker that we understood the language. We asked for the price and she said she wasn't charging for alterations. She said the other places would charge. That's not what we asked. The seam at the hip was not finished. I went back to have them fix it. The owner, Cindy, said it was normal. I had to show her the other side. She took it and showed it to the seamstress. She didn't believe me. They did eventually fix it, but I can tell they were reluctant. read more

I purchased my bridal áo dài from Thanh Trang in February 2026! I was impressed by the attention of the shop keeper who helped me find the right one, and of the seamstress who did the alterations. I am short, and the sleeves were originally too long, but I was pleased that the alterations were included in the purchase price and found this to be more than fair. Because the sleeves had lace detailing, the seamstress didn't simply shorten the sleeve, but also carefully reapplied the lace to maintain the sleeve's integrity. We were browsing through asian garden mall, and stumbled upon this gem. We were in and out of the boutique within 30 minutes because of how good the service was! I basically went through their sample dresses, and one dress stood out the most to me. Cindy was able to work with me, and allowed me to make minor adjustments to the design to whatever I wanted. She gave us a good price for the matching couple set and it took them two months to complete since it was made to order. My overall experience was easy, reliable and just amazing. Me and my mom flew to LA from Canada in hopes of finding someone to help me custom make my Ao Dai for my wedding as well as dresses for my bridesmaids, mother of the bride, mother in law and so much more! In total we had 12+ ao dais custom made. Everything was completed in the timeframe I had ask and none of the dresses needed additional alterations. All measurements were taken in Canada and me and my mom were the only two that got physically measured in person. Mind you all I showed them was a photo what I was looking for and they knew exactly how to achieve that! Cindy was so easy to deal with! Was walking around Phước Loc Tho looking for ao dai before Tết, and I was immediately drawn in by the sparkles! After browsing their selection, nowhere else could compare. They are worth every penny for the superior quality, and I wish I had known to come here for my wedding/dam hoi ao dai years ago Cindy was so great- she noticed that I couldn't take my eyes off a yellow painted ao dai, but since it was only in one teeny-tiny size for the mannequin, she offered to custom make it for me! Came to pick it up a few weeks later (busy because it was around Tet time) and it came out perfect! A lot of places turned me down because it's very difficult to upsize pants and clothing in general but this place has a lot of very talented and skilled people. With years of experience, I am very pleased by the craftsman's ship bc not only were they successfully able to do so but did it within 3 days, last minute. I had a convention I need to go right away but shipping didn't arrive until the week of. I wouldn't have been able to properly wear my cosplay if it wasn't for them. They even went the extra mile and added zippers. I highly recommend doing any custom fittings here because they have a good team and a lot of fabrics to choose from. I'm a big guy and I'm a big fan! Many ao dai shops have a lot of sizes, but for "fluffy" guys like me, it's a near impossible find. Most of the shops I walked into literally laughed and just shoo'd me away saying I was too big. However, I was welcomed at Thanh Trang and Cindy was more than accommodating. They didn't have my size, but they said they could make it. I was so impressed with the quality of the work of the first one that the next year I came back with my wife to make a set of complimentary ao dais AND khan dongs. I had a very specific pattern that I wanted that was not available stateside and a friend in Vietnam was able to find it for me and bring it back to me. I gave Cindy a call and came in the shop and she provided me a fair price for the both of us and went to work. The quality, care, and attention to detail is one of the key reasons I come back. For my most recent ao dai, I miscalculated the amount of fabric, and Cindy helped find an elegant solution and it came back beyond our expectations. If you are looking for something custom in time for Tet, be patient and give it 6 to 8 weeks before the holiday! They get super busy and the quality is why! Picking up my ao dai, they could have easily put it in a bag and called it a day, but they steamed my ao dai and it was ready to wear that day! I bought two Ao Dai: one casual and one fancy, for my cousin's upcoming wedding. My aunt recommended this place because she had bought dresses there for a TV appearance and said it's the best place around to get an Ao Dai. I was not disappointed. The variety of dresses to choose from was huge. There was a wide price range for both casual and very fancy dresses, so it mostly depends on what exactly you're looking for. After the dresses were tailored, I had some issues with my credit card (being from abroad), so I transferred the payment, and the dresses were shipped out the next day to the address where I was staying. Three days later, they arrived. I would say it was great service and very trustworthy! Side note/opinion: As I've been scrolling through the comments, I had to laugh. Of course, with European/US sizing, my upper body fits into S/M, sometimes XS. It didn't shock me that I had to choose dresses between L and XL. There should be a little understanding for that. As half Viet, half European, I am taller and heavier compared to the typical Vietnamese demographic (emphasis on 'compared to'). I did not experience body shaming for that. Summa summarum: treat yourself and get a nice Ao Dai! I've already received so many compliments from family members and friends after showing them the fancy dress! read more

In the Phuoc Loc Tho (Asian Garden Mall), this shop is on the first floor, on the right side when you enter from the front. My mother and I arrived here after spending the day searching for traditional Ao Dai dresses and felt that the quality at this store was superior to the others we visited earlier in the day. Besides ao dai, they also carry some gowns and traditional wedding dresses. From what I saw, prices fell between from $50-300. There are a variety of styles of dresses here, ranging from simple to ostentatious. There's also an option to choose a fabric and have an ao dai seen to your measurements. We searched through their hundreds of dresses and successfully found two that we loved. Yes - the employees here are quite involved, but this is to be expected of Vietnamese businesswomen. Personally, I was not phased by it at all and in reality expected it. The trick is to stand your ground and stick to your opinions of what you like and don't like. All in all, we are so happy we stopped by here and found a couple gorgeous dresses! I would not dismiss this shop because of the Yelp reviews. read more

I needed a beautiful gold dress for my 50th Birthday and I came across this Vietnamese dress shop in the Asian mall, I asked if they can make the design on the picture that I brought and they said yes. They were able to finish the dress in half the time, but the color on the inner lining was wrong, although the fit was perfect we had some misunderstandings with the color as they copied the color on the picture making the outside gold and the inner pink, I needed gold and cream combine to make the gold stand out. They made me a brand new dress with the color I wanted and they were able to make it in time. The fit was perfect and the dress was perfect when it was made, and I appreciate Cindy and her mom for making my fabulous dress just in time.
