Our kitchen was designed by Tharp's in house design specialist, Jessica Huinker who was fabulous with whom to work. Her command of kitchen design and layout resulted in some great ideas. The island ended up being 8' x 9'. The Cambria Brittanica quartz countertops were arranged by Stone Concepts in Brighton to blend the pattern from one slab to the other. The end result is terrific although there was a little stress getting to the finish line. Tharp probably didn't send their A team of installers and quite a bit of touch up and replacement items needed to be addressed after the fact. Much to Tharp's credit, they stood behind their work and addressed all needs, even though it took months of waiting due to their scheduling constraints. When the final adjustments and touch ups were done we were fortunate to have Jessy Brady manage the end of the project. He took his time, did a superb job, and had an all around pleasant personality and demeanor. Everything he touched up was perfect. read more

we were encouraged to use this company by our builder and had nothing but negative experiences. Our cabinets were delivered behind schedule. They were delivered disassembled. The insulation was priced into our quote, installation was not provided. The pieces were so poorly labeled that other contractors were not successful in assembling the cabinets. the quality of the materials used is below what I would have gotten had I ordered factory cabinets from a big box chain. Our design process was terrible. Our follow up was terrible. The service after delivery of the cabinets was terrible. This was an extremely negative experience all the way around. After 5 years most of the cabinets in our kitchen are showing water damage and scuff marks. The materials used were clearly substandard. Unfortunately Tharp does not provide any support or refinishing options so we will have to find someone else to come and fix the problems. Looks like we are having similar issues as several other folks. I hesitate to wash them worrying I will make the problem worse. read more

I have used Tharp for 2 small projects in our home and have been so pleased with their work! We replaced a small sink vanity in a half bath and added new unfinished upper cabinets for a coffee bar that we will paint. As a consumer, I like to make sure when I write a review it is strictly objective. I am writing this review in regards to Tharp cabinet company in Loveland Colorado. We had a brand new house built and moved in, in May 2017. Tharp cabinets did all of our custom built cabinets out of Alderwood for us and did the installation. Kitchen, master bath, powder bath and guest bath. The cabinets are absolutely gorgeous and they have been taking care of us every step of the way. We had to have our new wood floors (Maple) refinished and during that finishing process the flooring company damaged the kitchen cabinets which you can see in the photos that are attached. The flooring company gouged the lower cabinet doors, they placed exterior painters tape on the door fronts and drawer fronts along with the toe kick's. Unfortunately, when the tape was removed from not only the drawer fronts but the tow kicks the finish was peeled off because of the heavy-duty tape that was used. We called and talked with Debra Hernandez the business unit manager at Tharp cabinets to come out and provide an estimate to have the cabinets repaired. Debbie came out and provided the estimate and stated that in order for all of the door and drawer fronts in order to make them all uniform in color the would have to remove all of them, and scratch sand and refinish as this is a 10 step process and the finish is hand rubbed on. Debbie and her crew, including Darren, Doug, Joe, and the rest of the team (I apologize for not remembering everyone) did such a fantastic job for us that I as a consumer will highly recommend Tharp cabinet company for any custom made projects. Debbie and Doug really did a fantastic job with scheduling our appointments, ensuring that they met their timeline, and communicated with us through the entire process, which was phenomenal. The crew was scheduled to come out on November 15 to remove and wrap all of the doors and drawer fronts with an estimated date of completion on November twentieth before the Thanksgiving holiday. They delivered on their promise and their word, and we had everything done before Thanksgiving. As you can see from the finished pictures and basically the before and after photos, we could not be more happy with the outcomes that Debbie and her team at Tharp did for us. We did end up adding a couple additional straps to the front side of our island which was also damaged and also to cover up the seams where the cabinets come together. These were all bare initially, and with this edition it really does add that touch of class and finished look. Thanks again Debbie and the team. We are very grateful. read more

We had a great experiencing designing custom cabinets for the bar area in our basement remodel. We met with a designer in the showroom to go over ideas, cabinet types, wood, stain, etc. A designer then met us in our home to go over the final product before installation. We were very excited to have Tharp do our brand new home. We had a couple of issues when we moved in, but they were helpful about fixing issues and we greatly appreciated that. When I contacted them about (another) kitchen drawer under our double oven that was kind of peeling at the bottom, (we had the exact thing happen to a drawer only after about 4 months of having the cabinets that they replaced) the manager blamed it on water damage. I would understand this for the cabinet under the sink, but not for a drawer that we rarely even wipe down. Keep in mind we haven't even had the cabinets for a year and I also verified with them how we should be wiping the cabinets to clean them. I guess I'm not sure how we are doing everything they told us to do to take care of them, but they are still blaming water damage? Overall, it's a very frustrating experience when your custom cabinets aren't even a year old, you do what they tell you to do as far as taking care of them and they still chip and peel. We won't be using them for our other house projects in the future. read more

We completed a whole house remodel in 2021. I would have to saw that Tharp Custom Cabinetry was the smoothest part of the whole process. They were very easy to work with from ordering to install. There was also an upfront cost with no hidden fees. I would definitely hire them again. (Not so much many of the other contractors we used on our remodel.) read more

On one hand, they make good cabinets that are worth more than 2 stars. On the other hand is their sales personnel, which don't deserve the second star. We had Tharp Cabinets in the past and were happy with them, so we set an appointment to get an estimate for some more in our basement. When we arrived, you might have thought we were lepers the way everyone avoided us, and tried to seem busy so they wouldn't have to acknowledge us. Then, when the person we were meeting with showed up, she had not reviewed anything we sent her because she "didn't have time." Then the whole experience felt like we were inconveniencing them with us being there. When we got the quote back, we had emailed questions which nobody bothered to respond to. All of this would have been forgiven, had they not wanted WAY too much money. I'll be buying from Schroll instead. read more

We just put in a new kitchen with Tharp Cabinets. The design process with was excellent; the Tharp team totally accommodated our installation schedule (and changes!) ; the installation was perfect and they came to fine tune our last details right on time. Our Tharp cabinets are BEAUTIFUL and very custom/high end in feel, performance and look. The cost was in line with big-box retailers but our Tharp Cabinets are custom, built to fit the space we have. Don't waste your money, after Taking 2 days off of work and having Michelle at our house to measure and go over what we wanted we were asked to come in to go over the drawings and approve them so Tharp could start construction. I asked Michelle if I really needed to take another day off of work since it was just a simple bathroom vanity I didn't think that they could screw it up but they did. the vanity was built with a main box and 2 end wing pieces screwed together, the 2 wing pieces on the ends when you open them up the shelves inside are not large enough to put a roll of toilet paper on the shelf and behind the shelf there is almost a foot of open space behind the end units which they just used some filler board, I'm not sure how anyone could screw a cabinet up this bad. all of this for only 1900.00 and their customer support is worthless. you can go to Lowes or Home depot and buy a box and add some filler on the ends and save a lot of money. read more

Our mid-century house has it's "modern" back. We needed to replace our old, low-quality kitchen cabinets, and knew we wanted well-built and attractive cabinets in their place. I was looking for slab front, euro style cabinets, but wanted higher quality materials and installation than IKEA. After perusing the website and visiting the Tharp showroom, we knew they had exactly what we wanted, but worried the price would exceed our budget. After several bids from big box and cabinet suppliers, we opted for Tharp. Their quote was actually lower than the others, and included installation by their own trained team. We were able to have the cabinets made to the exact height and width specifications we needed, and got to choose all the extras that add utility and convenience, like soft-close doors and drawers, floating shelves, pull-out pantries, large, sturdy drawers for pots and pans, lazy Susan and corner cabinets. The 7-week wait for our custom cabinets was worth the wait. The measurements were precise, so when installation day came, all went smoothly and they were done in about 6 hours. There was a slight issue with the size and fit of a microwave shelf I ordered, but they sent a craftsman a couple weeks later who fixed the shelf on site. We've had our new cabinets for about 2 months and are so happy with them! So well made, much more storage, and so attractive. I LOVE my new kitchen! read more

I hired Tharp to install custom cabinets for my new house. The ordering process was fairly straightforward and I received a competitive estimate for the work. After placing the order and scheduling a date for the work to start... nobody arrived at the agreed date of installation. Meanwhile my credit card was billed for the full amount of the work. After three days of phone calls I finally was able to have someone return my message about why they didn't arrive on the agreed install date and billed me for the said work. The owner Garth said that our job was "low priority" and the credit card was billed to "secure materials" After multiple scheduled start dates the job was finally completed a month later. The craftsmanship of the work was sub-par at best and the cabinets were hung crooked and doors were misaligned. The cabinets were incorrectly measured and the last cabinet was hastily cut to fit the end of our kitchen. One week later my credit card was charged an additional 800 dollars for "adjustments" which were never mentioned to me or by the install crew. I highly recommend to avoid Tharp Cabinets due to their lack of quality of work, non-communicative office and surprise charges. Their upfront prices might look competitive but their hidden charges and shoddy work will cause major headaches in the future! read more

I hired Tharp to install custom cabinets on a new build duplex. After some difficulty in the ordering process, I placed the order for the cabinets. Unfortunately this is where the real problems began. The cabinets were mis-measured, and they had even added walls to my plans that did not exist and didn't inform me of the change. Needless to say this caused me thousands of dollars in delays because it took Tharp months to fix the problems (and then they charged me extra for their mistake!) When I requested that they waive the approximately 1K that was owed to them, it took months for them to even respond to that. (and they didn't) Ultimately the cabinets turned out fine, but only after months of delays and problems. Delays and problems are common and even forgivable in the construction industry, but their poor customer service is not. read more

We were making some minor alterations to our custom kitchen cabinets. Tharp did them 11-12 years ago which we were able to find out from the previous owners. They couldn't find the old project file since it was so long ago, but they were willing to give it a try to match the existing custom finish on the 11+ year old cherry cabinets. Initially we had some ordering issues, then it took longer than anticipated to get what we ordered. Unfortunately, one of the pieces we ordered was fabricated to the incorrect dimensions. Tharp corrected the error very very quickly, without question, and without making any excuses etc. Before we found out Tharp did the original cabinetry we tried working with three other companies who were nearly impossible to deal with. Since the project was so small, everyone else had no interest or were way too worried they wouldn't be able to come close to matching what was already there. Not Tharp, they were more than happy to help us and were patient dealing with us even though it was such a small custom project. If the front end part of the experience was only slightly better I wouldn't hesitate to give them 5 stars. I would/will use them again in the future! read more

Not sure the deal on lower reviews. My experience was fine. Our home was purchased new two years ago & our builder uses Tharp as their cabinet provider. The variety of cabinets Tharp offers is second to none & We upgraded our cabinets. The cabinets are well made & of excellent quality. We did have an issue on one thing that Tharp came out & repaired, I asked them to get back to me on something else & they never did even after I called in. I finally dropped it as I got busy, but may try again. Fast forward a year : decided to put a wet bar in our finished basement & wanted to stay somewhat budget friendly but still wanted quality & style as our other cabinetry. Everyone mentions IKEA so went down & priced them up, a process in itself. Yes the base lower end cabinets are reasonable, but as we wanted something a bit nicer the price was not all that low & we would have to assemble.....No...I get frustrated with that kind of thing so factoring assembly raised the real cost so decided to get a price on assembled cabinets from Lowe's & Tharp. Surprisingly enough Lowe's & Tharp were very similar in cost & only about $450 more than IKEA. Brad with Tharp got right back to me with pricing & any questions that arouse during the process & even had an idea for a nicer more substantial looking end piece that resulted in a great look. He also figured a custom width for one of our base cabinets that I did not realize without his suggestion we could do, in which fit our space plan perfectly. Tharp had better lead time than Lowe's as well so went with them. Tharp quoted us 21 working days & bang on the 20th day had the order complete. I opted for customer pickup & the cabinets were very well packaged & the shipping personnel assisted me in loading. My installer raved about the cabinets, extra materials provided (moldings, trim etc.) and all went well. read more

Wow ... Not sure what's going on at Tharp but our current experience is nothing like our experience of 2.5 years ago. Back then, we requested work, it was done, we paid and were happy. This time ... Not so much! It started with the sales person we were assigned, based on work which had been done in our home by the previous owner. We were assigned Henry, whose response to our inquiry "Can you come take a look on Friday?" was "No, it will have to be next week". Period. No suggestion of when he could come. No offer of options for us to choose from. Just, "No". What does a customer do with that?!! As we pressed to actually set up an appointment, the communication was difficult at best. We could never get Henry on the phone, so we resorted to communicating via email. We'd email three questions, he'd answer the first one with a short sentence. We'd email the OTHER TWO questions again, etc. etc. Fast forward to actually having the meeting in our home to measure for a bar we are adding in the basement. Measurements were taken, order was placed and a 50% deposit was paid. We were told we'd received a call one week after placing the order, to advise us of the delivery date. Three weeks go by ... No phone call. When we called Tharp's customer service to inquire, we were given an attitude as though we were out of line for expecting them to do what they promised!!! Time will tell whether the bar will (a) be delivered and installed on the dates we have been given and (b) whether it will actually fit correctly. We are quite concerned based on two simple roll-out drawers we are trying to add in the kitchen. Henry measured for those two drawers the day he measured for the bar. Same deal ... No call from Tharp as to install date so we called to ask. We were told they would be installed on 9/21/16. That date came, and no one showed up. Called Tharp again and were told we weren't even on the install schedule! Wait some more ... Then when Doug from Tharp showed up yesterday to install two simple pull-outs in the kitchen he discovered they were the WRONG SIZE!!! Doug was fantastic and did his best by altering the shelves so we could use them temporarily while they are remade - likely another month wait and who knows how many phone calls from us to follow-up. Dear Tharp: Please give Doug the credit he deserves for being so respectful, professional and accommodating. Please also assign someone to our project who will communicate, follow through and provide us the service we deserve for the $$$$$ we are spending with your company. read more

Be very careful when dealing with this company...very frustrating...missing pieces to the cabinets, nicks and scratches, parts not painted, etc. Their painter was sent out 3 different times to touch up and still didn't get all the spots. Their idea of fixing mistakes is to slap a big piece of trim over it...ugly. I asked about an end panel to one of the cabinets and was assured that we would have one, and sure enough, it was installed without one. They told me it would then cost another $300 to install one. The owner keeps calling to get final payment when they haven't yet finished the job...no way! read more

The stain on some of our Tharp kitchen and bathroom cabinets was so thin and faded after just 3 years that it was noticeable from across the room. We've had cabinets from other NoCo companies since 1985. And never experienced this deterioration in the finish. We tried to be fair and after leaving many messages finally reached the company's customer service reps to try to correct the situation. They came, took of photos and said they saw the issues, but said it's because of our usage. My husband and I are empty nesters who work--little usage by day. Dear Tharp, we're still open if you'd like to correct the situation! read more

Two stars only as the end product came out good. Less than big box store service & workmanship for top dollar custom prices. Only about half of the people we dealt with gave any reasonable service. No returned phone calls (had to call the main office and ask if they wanted our business to get a new designer assigned...) The delivery people did not give any warning or a time slot. The cabinet showed up with UNFINISHED/UN-STAINED areas on the front. The installer did a TERRIBLE job, and left a mess, including his bag of trash in our family room for us to clean up. Mis-cut holes, smashed cable outlet, left finish nails above the wood surface, did not countersink or putty the finish nails, left sawdust & cut-outs in the cabinets, and Jammed a trim piece between the cabinet & wall with NO nails or screws to secure it. It took 2 visits from the project manager & techs to finish the installation to THEIR standards, and while we had to find the time to come meet them for that, accounting wanted final payment before they were even done. While in the end it came out well, the process was so frustrating, was just happy to never have to deal with Tharp again. read more

The kitchen was measured incorrectly, They forgot to build our two master bath vanities and two months later when they came one was missing a door, a top for a built in linen cabinet was too big. We spent money paying our own people to revamp the cabinets. Customer service is terrible. They were months behind schedule which prevented us from getting our Certificate of Occupancy. read more

We built our home and used Tharp for every cabinet from top to bottom. Out of all of the decisions we made in the process, choosing Brad at Tharp was by far the best! We get so many compliments on the design of our cabinets when they walk into our home. It was everything we could want from a cabinet company - personal design that fit our family's needs as well as looking beautiful, amazing inventory of choices, options galore that I never would have thought of, just to name a few. We couldn't recommend Brad any more highly, either. The ideas that he had made the process so smooth and easy which is incredibly difficult to do given the amount of choices and decisions that need to be made. It was enjoyable and fun! He took my Pinterest and notebook kitchen and brought it to life. Just finished installing there textured melamine cabinets. Cabinets are made the cheapest way possible, No dados or glue. Only screws and a couple of dowels. So many of the boxes had broken top rails as they don't put full tops on them, and some of the bottoms are cracked and have staple blow outs... The cheap plastic adjustable feet they install didn't have any type of protection from getting damaged. So during shipping/being moved around there shop etc some of those also had some damage so we needed to replace those. There finished end panels don't have any scribe on them so if your walls are out even the littlest amount there will be a gap. There finished backs also no room for scribe.. I have been building cabinets and installing them for 30 plus years and never seen any company not allow for any variances in floors or walls.... However the only good stuff on these set of boxes is the hardware.. read more
