I was in Everett and looking for lunch and searched Yelp and found That Chicken Place. I seem to remember that they had been called something like That Chicken Sandwich previously. Not sure if this is the same place. While here I had 6 wings with the spicy garlic Parmesan flavor and blue cheese dipping sauce (which cost extra and the cashier neglected to tell me that) and a bottled soft drink. The chicken took at least 20 minutes of wait time to be finished and provided to me. Don't go here if you're on a time crunch or you'll be late to work. The wings were fresh, hot and saucy, just the way I like them. The flavor was good. The table has rolls of paper towels as napkins which is super helpful for a messy eater like me. The order came with a small dish of carrot and celery sticks. I've never seen carrot sticks sliced that thin for chicken wing places. My issue with That Chicken Place is that it's pricey for what you get. The 6 wings with 1 flavor was $13. That is over $2 per wing and the unannounced charge for Bleu Cheese Dip was $1.50. The soft drink bottle was $3.50. These prices are way higher than I would expect in a order at the counter restaurant. Plus, as I mentioned earlier, they didn't tell me the Bleu Cheese Dip cost anything. I thought it came with an order of wings. I won't return at these prices. Maybe they can offer weekday lunch specials to get people in the door and keep the high prices for evenings and event nights at the Arena right across the street.

When I arrived, about 35 minutes after they opened, there was no line but majority of the seats and booths were full. When placing my order they greeted me with a full smile and expressed genuine gratitude and respect, so shout out to the front end staff. The overall vibe felt retro with a 80-90s era dinner fused with a dive bar. They had mainly sports on the TV's but with no audio just CC. They also had outdoor seating but during this time of year in Everett in my opinion too cold to enjoy the experience. Tables, chairs, bathroom, and floors were all clean and tables even wiped down after each person finished their meal. Slightly crammed but spacious enough to accommodate a group of 5 or less. I would like to note in my single photo from the street across it was slightly difficult to find as a tree blocks the front of the restaurant. Examining the menu was easy and concise the only issue I had was with the happy hour menu being separated from the main menu. It was on a small black board handwritten behind the staff with only 4-5 small items mainly alcohol which isn't uncommon. Understandably the happy hour menu being separated as they probably change the items from time to time, but on a Sunday which the daily special being happy hour all day. A highlight from the staff or flashier menu would improve that experience in my opinion. I placed my order which was a fried chicken burger which came with a choice of fries or tots. I opted for no drink but I wanna note their drink section, besides the alcohol, was largely diverse. Front end staff asked me to-go or here, which I asked for it to-go. This is where my potential higher star rating comes down to 3 stars. After I ordered and specified to-go I noticed there was an extra charge, not the card surcharge but a tacked on $1 to-go charge. The front end staff did NOT inform me about this charge or had any signage informing about to-go charges. Now I know what you're thinking "it's just a dollar! You're really gonna dock them 2 stars for a dollar?" And you'd be right. However after I took my number and waited for my order to come out, which was no time at all as I only waited less than 5 minutes, it wasn't even to-go. Not a huge problem I thought as I could just ask for a to-go container for my meal, but when I asked the staff they informed me that they needed to charge me for a to-go container. Appalled at this I simply stated I had already paid once for this to-go charge. The staff did not believe me and when I asked if they could print my receipt so I could have physical proof of the charge, they denied me my receipt and stated since I didn't not ask for a receipt at the time of purchase they were not entitled to give me one. I did not pressure them any further after their statement. I sat down and dove straight into my meal. They offered condiments which is nice but did not do much for the meal itself. The fried chicken burger which came with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. Overall I did not find the burger special in any particular way and slightly found it plain/bland. The chicken itself was not seasoned enough but was moist and tender. Chicken to bun ratio was about 1:1.5. The tots were the highlight of the meal. Well seasoned with what seemed to be a cajun spice and was well fried. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I have high faith the fries are similar if not better. Since I did not try the wings or tenders I cannot speak on those items but from other reviews and the volume of orders from other people inside. I have faith the other items are at the level of the tots in my review. Overall in my opinion: 7/10 Food 5.5/10 Drinks 8/10 Staff 3/10 +4 bonus points due to the owner sitting down with me and apologizing for the inconvenience. Environment: 7.5/10 Cleanliness 8/10 Accessibility 6/10

I wish I had taken a picture at the start of my meal cause it looked sooooo good. My family & I immediately started digging in. Came in on a Sunday, the service was literally out of this world. We all ordered our own things & were told everything was made fresh so we had a very small reasonable wait. So delicious so friendly, we'll definitely be back!

    Nashville Style Fried Chicken

Really spicy and really crispy chicken! And great beer selection too. The tots had a little kick too. Inside has a couple tables and chairs, but it's most a to-go spot.

The service here is so friendly! We were greeted immediately and our questions were answered. It was a little slow when we were in there (lunch before superbowl) so we were the only ones. The decor was simple and inviting and the music wasn't too loud so you could hold a conversation. Our chicken sandwiches were amazing! The buffalo one was by far the best and we have already talked about going back for another one!

You know they mean business about serving chicken when they have paper towels hanging on the wall! Really good service, although the vibe definitely gives more quick lunch despite the bar inside. My husband had the chicken tacos, and I had the chicken sandwich. The tacos were perfect - seasoning on the chicken was fantastic. The chicken on the sandwich was a bit thin, so you mostly got breading and the other toppings like lettuce were a bit skimpy. However, the chicken was perfectly moist and the breading was delicious. I don't know what seasoning they use on the fries, but it might have ruined me for any other french fries. Definitely recommend and will be back!

    Nashville hot chicken sandwich

Restaurant is clean and great service. I have to come back again to try some of their other foods. This Nashville sandwich is not the greatest. Chicken is too thin, over cooked and hard to chew. The bun way too big for the sandwich and the flavor isn't Nashville hot. It reminds me of a mole sauce almost and the breast is drenched in it - but it's thick and grainy. Coleslaw is basic but overall it's just nothing which stands out. It's mediocre at best and not what I was expecting. Tater tots were cooked perfectly - but they are hard to mess up. Will be back but would not recommend this sandwich. For the love of the chicken gods - Please make buttermilk ranch from scratch instead of using hidden valley! For a chicken shack buttermilk is the holy grail! Hopefully for their price points their other items are better than this. Will try the wings next time.

Garlic Parmesan strips. Perfect blend of salty, garlicy and spicy!

Great surprise. I was reluctant to try it only to really enjoy myself. A sort of a Dives, Diners and Drive type of place.

Chicken was hard and overcooked. The chicken sandwich is drenched in sauce and falls apart from the giant oversized chicken piece.

Tasty tender chicken across from Angel of the Winds. Delicious sandwiches and crunchy tots. Wish the space was bigger. Go Tips!

Non-alcoholic beer as well as canned wine can be purchased. Now equipped with a kitchen, pizza's (10") can be ordered to enjoy with your beverage. During this visit I has a can of House Wine Red Blend for $10 to sip on. For dinner I chose the Works Pizza (#10) for $15.50: red sauce, cheese, pepperoni, sausage, ham, red onion, olives and mushrooms. Quite the tasty pizza. ---------------- This is a cool little brewery right in my backyard. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. This brewery is essentially a refurbished hangar so dress accordingly. It's a good idea to bring a sweatshirt or jacket to ward off the chill. There are a few TVs mounted throughout the hanger. Board-games are also available to play while sipping brews. Beer listings are displayed on a nice digital screen. A couple beers have a high ABV which limits those beers to two pours. There isn't really a kitchen; however, simple foods such as sandwiches and chips are available. Waiter service is non-existent. Orders are placed at the counter as well as picked up at the counter (beer & food). My wife ordered Audrey for $5 a pint. I ordered the Back Stabbing Bitch (2 pour limit) for $5 a pint. We both enjoyed our choices. For lunch my wife ordered the Traditionalist Polish Dog with original Tim's potato chips for $6. Can't go wrong with a hot dog. I ordered half a Big JW with a bag of jalapeno Tim's chips for $6. My sandwich was generously topped with meat and cheese and grilled to a nice golden brown. Tasty. We look forward to returning in the near future to slurp on some tasty beer while watching a game.

No real defects in any of the beers, which was a statistical impossibility, I thought. Were they my favorite all-time beers? No, but everything was very good to excellent, and is now my go-to brewery in Everett!
