The customer service was great. The gentleman that helped me was very friendly and knowledgeable. I had an external SSD that died after a couple months of use. I had a lot of data on it and brought it here to see if my data could be recovered. I was worried I screwed up my sons 2015 MBP MacBook Pro. I figured I could tackle a seemingly simple SSD upgrade from stock Apple 128 GB to new superfast Samsung 970 EVO 1 TB SSD (on sale now amazon $169) I thought I was pulling the power cable, but yanked the wrong connector instead by mistake. It took me hours to figure out what it was , iFixit has a lot of videos which were helpful to educate me and identify that it was in fact the tiny ribbon cables connecting the keyboard to the main logic board. There's a trick to getting it re-seated, a little "eyelash" clip that opens and closes. I just tried stuffing it in there and smushed it. Got it to boot but some keys didn't work, backspace, space, shift, right side numbers and letters, symbols. Well, I called Simply Mac and they said it could be cheap, like if just trackpad cable, only $170 (only??), but if keyboard ribbon more costly bc that's not separate, and attached to keyboard itself, so that would need replacement, as part of bottom shell for $659 !! Dang I really screwed this up. I called That Computer Chick in Kennesaw, a small independent one-off shop. Kimberly affirmed my suspicion, the tight keyboard connector might not be seated properly. I ran it up to her shop in Kennesaw. She fixed it in 5 minutes flat, even showing me the trick and how touchy those micro-ribbon cables can be. whew That Computer Chick Kimberly really saved my butt. I was skeptical after seeing a couple low-star reviews, albeit 2013 and 2014, but called about a problem with my MacBook Pro after receiving seemingly exaggerated quotes from local competitor computer shops (including Apple Genius Bar). One wanted me to make an appointment, which I did, later cancelled, and had me super worried my MBP was seriously screwed up requiring a very costly fix. Called Kimberly @That Computer Chick and she ballparked what she thought the problem was based on her over-the-phone diagnosis, contingent upon seeing the machine herself of course. I rushed it to her, and she was spot-on, dead accurate. Kimberly had the problem fixed within 5 minutes, literally under 300 seconds, saving me over $600 from the other estimate -- absolutely amazed at her expert diagnosis. DONT TAKE YOUR COMPUTER TO COMPUTE CHICK", they are a rip off, I took my laptop to the computer chick in West Cobb on Due west last summer of 2020 during covid19, I gave them a $50.00 deposit to put a facing on it, they said the parts and labor would be $190.00, I asked the technician about my deposit being part of the price and he said that was included with the cost, so I asked him so the price is really $240. People had told me not to take my laptop to computer chick because they are a rip off, so they move their location to Woodstock, Georgia, without actually talking to me verbally telling me that they had moved, I talked with them and they said they left messages on my voice mail telling me to come and get my laptop but NO messages were ever left on my phone, they said they noted that they left messages, but they are lying and just covering their tracks. They said I abandon my product and they scrap my laptop even though I gave them a $50.00 deposit. This is what you call very Bad customer service, they should have kept calling my number until they physically got me on the phone. This is a horrible place to do business with...PLEASE DONT do business with this company, thats probably why they moved from West Cobb to Woodstock because they cheated people, West Cobb is a big money area, we have Country Club Communities out here, have the best schools in Cobb County, so why would you move all the way to Woodstock. we have many half million and million dollar homes in West Cobb.... So I decided that I was tired of going up and down two flights of stairs to go from my work shop to my office every time I needed to use QuickBooks, so I set up a office adjacent to my shop and bought a second PC. I knew that I needed a multi-user license and to download QB on the second PC, which the QB customer service agent helped me with. She tried to help me set up a network, so both computers could use the same company file, but after about 30 minutes of no success, she told me that I'd have to get an "IT guy" and maybe have a LAN cable installed. So I hung up disappointed. I knew That Computer Chick from them helping a few years ago, so I booked an appointment for the "IT Guy" to come to me and fix my network up and get these PCs talking to each other. Matt arrived on time and ready to get to work. He was super thorough and was able to explain the problems that he was running into and the solutions that he was implementing. He found some file storage errors that were causing comm problems between the two PCs, fixed the problems and now I am able to do exactly what I hoped from the start. They had our computer for almost a week and could not figure out what was wrong, which normally wouldn't upset me because sometimes things are just broken. However, the manager was incredibly rude and tried to charge my fiance and I an arm and a leg for a bunch of different things that didn't even fix the problem. Someone who works in a customer service oriented field should have a better attitude. Also a friend of mine with very little computer training ended up fixing the issue immediately. read more

I dropped a laptop off on a Wednesday that just needed a screen replaced. They were going to call me back with the estimate. I didn't hear back from them on Wednesday, then Thursday came and went so I called them at 11:00am on Friday. After being put on hold for several minutes I was told they haven't looked at it yet and the person who could give the estimate doesn't come in until 2:00 ?!?!? WORST SERVICE EVER! My hard drive crashed and I wanted my data retrieved. A week after having my computer they called to say they turned it on and couldn't retrieve the data. Well DUH! I knew that when I took it in. They could now "try" to run a program. Why did you bother to call me if you hadn't even tried to retrieve the data other than turning it on. I brought my laptop in to have the screen replaced and see if they could fix a key that was sticking. They ordered and replaced the screen. However, their solution for the key was to switch it with a less used key. Which promptly fell off. When I said I was disappointed because now my laptop was missing a key the owner replied that it was an 'even swap'. I said calmly that I disagreed because now my laptop (which I use at work) was missing a key. Then she exclaimed 'Well I'm not buying you a new freakin' keyboard!' I merely wanted to have the cost of the key 'repair' removed from my bill. She then threw up her hands and said 'Fine! I'll get you one off ebay. Whatever!' Needless to say a week later I still haven't heard from her and still have a broken keyboard. If you're looking for professional, courteous service... don't go here. read more

Emily then went on to say I came in several months later and stated I could not afford an $85 repair. Excellent service! I have been using them for years. They always help me understand what I'm doing wrong and don't treat me like I'm stupid (even though I swear I am). Their pricing is very fair, and often don't charge me for quick things or log in services. They have a lot of customers, so sometimes there is a wait for a few days, but not bad.
