The food is basic-pretty much the same ingredients available for skillet and for omelettes-true lack of imagination. Walked in 20 minutes to closing and just as we walk in the door one waitress looked at her watch tapping it like it was broken; sarcastically making it known to us that it's late. The attitude continued and was so rude when asking for drink orders. We just got up and left. It's no love loss because the food they serve can be better made at home. Evans Diner was my favorite breakfast spot in town. The only thing that remains are the amazing waitress staff. The food was very poor and has lost all the quality the diner once had. The hashbrowns were undercooked yet still hard, my husband food was bland and the coffee was very weak. I had to leave the restaurant before we paid because the smoke in the air was making me feel sick. The charm is gone and the home feel is gone. I will try it again in a few months in the hopes that they bring back what they lost in the move. read more

The food is always great! Eat here because it is a restaurant with really good food. The service on the other hand is a hit or miss depending on what waiter/waitress you get. I understand why people have to wait a long time for a table because waiters take too long to come back to your table just to take your order or even give you the check. read more

I came for the view. This place doesn't offer much more than that. Basic breakfast items. Coffee was too watery. The business breakfast was good but nothing out of this world. Corned beef hash was nice! I suggest more unique menu items to set them apart from any other breakfast place. Friday was my daughter and I first time visiting the establishment. Upon walking in, I noticed the beautiful bay window but all the furniture was outdated. They quickly sat us at a table and as I sat I noticed that my feet was sticking to the floor. I had a couple of questions about the menu and the waitress answered but lied when my plate did come to the table. I asked if anything else came with the French Toast that is $7.00 for just 3 slices of bread. She stated it was 6 slices so my daughter and I could share. 3 slices came to the table. The food was not hot it was lukewarm at best. But at the end of it all my Daughter finished her orange juice and there was something black crusted stuck to the bottom of her cup. I asked the waitress "What was this?", she took the straw and started to scrape it off and it started to move she didn't say anything but immediately took the cup to the kitchen and all of this kitchen staff started to look at it, holding it up to the light. She then took it to the front where you pay and they took off the orange juice off my ticket and didn't even apologize no explanation NOTHING. Not to mention they are on the more expensive side. I was sickened by this entire experience. I shall never return and I will tell all my family and friends not to as well. read more

Some of the worst breakfast I've ever had! Wait staff were pleasant but order was put in wrong, had to ask for things multiple times and they never brought milk which was supposed to come with meal. Grits were lumpy, hash-browns were soggy, eggs tasted like egg beaters. Husband ordered an omelette- asked for spinach which was raw inside( not sautéed before putting inside). Biscuits were poor quality. Will not be coming back which is a shame since there are no breakfast places in area that aren't Waffle House, IHOP or Cracker Barrel. read more

What a sad breakfast. There were three of us and the restaurant was not very busy. I inquired about the chicken and waffles and was told by our waitress that they were very good. So I decided to try the chicken and waffles. It took a while but breakfast finally was served. The butter that was included with the meal was soft and should have spread on the waffles very easily. As I put the butter on the waffles I realized it was not melting onto the waffle. After spreading butter across the entire waffle I began to cut the waffle. Instead of the waffle being crisp on the outside from the hot iron it was soft and spongy. I soon realized that the waffle was COLD. It appeared that they were made earlier and left to wait for someone to order it. After complaining of my dissatisfaction I was given a discount of $1.44 for this poor meal. Went here for Sunday brunch and ended up leaving after a 45 min wait. There were 7 tables open but not cleaned when we finally gave up. No bus person on duty. Ample wait staff on duty but no sense of urgency to bus tables and seat waiting guests. The manager would appear occasionally (wearing shorts and a plaid shirt) and check the wait list, mumble something and then disappear again. He wasn't observed helping behind the line or serving or bussing tables the whole time we were there. Waitresses were observed arguing in front of guests. We will not return. Horrible Experience!!! Waited about an hour for food for 2 people. After finally getting food I found what looked like a hair in my hash browns but manager wanted to argue it was a thread. Really!!! Before finding "thread" in my hash browns they weren't very hot and my omelet wasn't very warm either. My boyfriends sausage gravy was so salty could barely eat. His food wasn't very hot either. Everyone was complaining around us about long wait to to the point I heard some of the waitresses warning people it could be up to an hour wait. Definitely want be back again. Having been to the Evans Diner several times and the fact that it was family owned and apparently the son transitioned to run this place it had to be great! We had 4 different things go wrong with our breakfast and talked with Robert the manager who made it all right and the waitress apologized profusely so we will go back. I was a bit disappointed in the Hollandaise sauce though. Not at all what a traditional Hollandaise is like. The grits were delicious, the pancake was good and so was the coffee. First time visiting this restaurant and I was impressed with how spacious and decorated the inside was. I ordered the sweet potato pancakes and my friend ordered a chicken and eggs dish. The sweet potato pancakes were delicious and something I would definitely order again! However my friend's piece of chicken was tiny, probably about 4 inches long! Our waitress didn't visit our table much but the waitress from a few tables down was doing an excellent job. I'll probably visit here again but I'd recommend ordering from their breakfast menu, not the lunch. read more
