Moreover, maturity level has a lot to do with it. Location: Salon is located near the Bay Club, the location is beautiful and plenty to do afterwards, but not worth it when you leave the salon with results that you clearly advised you did not want to see. Parking: Metered parking, somewhat tight due to gym; however, the salon does provide you a pass. Front desk person: Woman that answers the phone provides the recommendation on who to see based on the description that you give her; altough I'm not sure she is the right person so make those determinations. Color: Failed results at all times, kept saying that it's a process, yet she never invested in achieving the color as we discussed. I felt low and disregarded every single time I left the salon. I paid over $1000 to not obtain the results in each session. When I shared my concerns with her and advised that the incorrect color was used, she became distant, ghosted me on text and was not honest about when she was in the office. I called the salon and the woman at the front told me she was there. I feel cheated and hurt. There is no salon manager, no one that cares or that you can speak to about your concerns. Payments are done directly to the stylist.

I wanted to blend the gray into the bottom of my hair to look a bit more natural. Originally, the full idea would have a bit out of my budget, but Krystal came up with another idea to do some 'baby' highlights (highlighting just the top layer of my hair) to pull the grayish color through. So we kept my gray on top, added some highlights on top (which she toned gray, almost blue, kinda cool, certainly not orange!!) and then dyed the bottom of my hair to match my natural dark brown/black hue. Not only is the color amazing (both the gray and the dark brown to match my hair) but one of the best blowouts/styles I've ever gotten, with just 10-15 minutes of drying (I have coarse, frizzy, wavy hair). She gave me beautiful waves in front just with the blowdryer. Amazing. I wish I could have my hair look like this every day. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone. The salon was also very cute and welcoming and there are a few off street parking spots next door. My total even came to less than I was expecting.

He services his scissors in Japan semi-annually just to maintain his equipments in great condition. This helps prevent split ends and other hair troubles I used to frequently encounter. Nori also uses a scale to formulate the hair colors. You can feel assured you won't come out of the salon looking funky. Appointments can be made online directly from his website, or by emailing/texting him directly. He is very flexible and accommodating with appointments. Lastly, parking can be found adjacent from the salon building structure. You can also charge your EV for free too. Amex accepted and drinks and clean environment offered. I went in to get a perm and cut…read more The vibe was very nice. Very respectful. His space was very clean and tidy with what seems, state of the art tools. I have had fine hair all my life, but even still my hair has always taken well to perms, always. Even the last one over a year ago. The only complaint I had was the use of larger rods which made my hair more wavy curl than curly. Nori had said that my hair wouldn't take well to a perm, but because I know my hair's history, I asked him do it anyway and he agreed to do it. First he used a more gentle solution because of my pervious perm over a year ago (did not ask if I wanted that), and I didn't know until he was already in the process of using it on my hair... my hair needs the stronger solution. Second he did a loose curl wrap instead of a tight curl wrap. With fine hair (or at least my hair) it needs to be curled up against the scalp. I think he did this because it was a hot treatment perm (which I never had before) vs a cold treatment perm. He didn't give an option. So the perm came out ok on the bottom because it already had the previous perm that was there from a year ago. But the top part of my hair had virtually no difference. If you have fine hair and looking to get a perm, I would not recommend Nori. I'm sure he does really well with all other hair services. To his credit, the perm itself, aside from the lack of curl, was a healthy perm (did not harm my hair) and he did give a very nice cut prior to the perm process. I think if he would have explained his treatment process and how it differed from what I had previously experienced, that may have helped my decision to go elsewhere, before wasting over $200 I had taken a year 1/2 to save. Again I think he probably does really well with the other services he provides. I just think for women (or men) with fine hair, you may want to think twice if you're looking to get a perm.

She asked for photos of my current hair and inspo for my cut and we set up an appointment for the following week. Her salon is a SUPER cute and intimate space (no longer in the Phenix salon!) on PCH. Natalie was ready on time and was extremely thorough with the cut. She explained everything she was using, her technique, and asked lots of questions. She was also just really fun to chat with! I left SO impressed and my hair feels wonderful (I needed the postpartum hair chop - LOL). While she didn't color my hair (this time!) she used a product that oomphed my highlights so they looked refreshed and vibrant.
