Its almost impossible to concentrate on the workout because the instructor, Lee, spends the class talking bad about other women, criticizing people in the class, gossiping, making fun of your work-out clothes if they arent expensive or super trendy and belittling a person if they make a mistake. We love everything about this studio! The owner, Le Call, offers THE best mat and reformer classes - she is SO SKILLED. She knows her stuff and provides killer workouts. The clientele is also fabulous so you will be in good company if you take a group class. I've been going to weekly and biweekly classes here for 10 months now and I have to say this is my absolute favorite (and only) place for Pilates. Le is a professional and attentive teacher that tailors classes depending on your fitness level and goals. She remembers everyone's names and injuries, and she pushes us to always learn new things. For $35 a class It's the best value semi private Pilates reformer class you can go to in Manhattan (Maximum 5 people per class). From the moment I walked in I felt judged. The instructor said they were a really tight group which was apparent during the entire hour of them gossiping and talking badly about individuals they all seemed to know. The instructor said she wanted to "bully" someone and even made a derogatory comment about someone's age in the class. Not once did the instructor ask about my capabilities or limitations and I would have loved to explain that I used pilates as a physical therapy for serious back injuries I've faced for years. I didn't even feel like I had the opportunity to bring that up. I thought going to a small studio would allow for a level of personalization. I have to say I have never had a better full body workout. I usually go to bikram, bar method, or Slt. No more! Only 100's Pilates from here on out. I was sore all over in the best way possible. This studio features the most effective/energizing pilates class in the city... The instructor, Le, is awesome--and totally, totally entertaining--as she guides her clients through ~25 movements to WORK EVERYTHING (abs, arms, back, butt, legs, etc.) in ONE CLASS. Plus, the vibe is chill/fun. Joseph Pilates said: "In 10 sessions you'll feel the difference, in 20 sessions you'll see the difference, and in 30 sessions you'll have a whole new body." I took a semi private class with my girlfriend at The 100s. I was a Pilates "virgin" (yikes) but I work out regularly and was fairly confident I wouldn't break a sweat not to mention and actual workout. I was wrong. On both accounts. Our instructor kept up working out all 55 mins and tried to be both motivating and supportive. I used muscles that I both didn't know existing and didn't know how to "fire" (is that the correct term?) on my own regular gym sessions. It was super challenging (in a good way) and I'm going back next week to see if I can embarrass myself less. The studio was very cool, too! Loved the music and the vibe of all the wooden components and the super relaxing lighting. Highly recommend. Especially if one can get some "alone" time on the schedule. read more

Le is the best Pilates teacher I have ever had. She's fun, funny and kicks your booty so that your muscles feel worked out for days. The studio is intimate, Le pays attention to each student and also adjusts an exercise for the level of each individual student. It feels personalized to each person's fitness and strength levels. The 100s pilates is the best full body workout I've ever had! With an hour basically lying down the entire time I get a better workout than I would have at soul or pure barre, slt, etc. Le truly cares about each of her clients and goes out of her way to make sure each person gets the most out of her time in class. This studio is a MUST! If you want a legitimate studio that challenges you with the best equipment (Stott), a small class size (max 6 people), and a hardcore workout, you've found the place! Wow. That was a rant. Well at the end of the day, I paid $170 for one Pilates session. I guess I'll just take it as one expensive hour of my life. I have long masqueraded as a person, that looks and acts like they're 'in shape', when in truth I can hardly touch my toes, without letting out some kind of primordial howl. However, after only a few spirited sessions with the lovely and at least in my case, long suffering Le, I could feel my body responding quicker and easier than ever before. With only 6 clients in the studio at once, you can rest assured that your needs will be met, and your form dutifully observed. As a reluctant newcomer to Pilates, I can only describe my first attempts as the flailing of new born octopus, but was quickly corrected by Le into form that my buddy told me looked only 'moderately embarrassing'. Like anything, you get out of it what you put into it, and if you truly dedicate yourself to this studio, you will really see the positive changes in your body and quality of life, almost immediately. Le and her studio are fantastic! First off, Le is an awesome teacher. You work hard in class but always have fun doing it. I think the best part is that because the studio is small, you get one-on-one attention that you won't get anywhere else. Le is attentive and helpful- always remembering if you have an injury or condition and works with you to adjust poses to make it work for you. The instructors are all great at pushing you to your limits while making sure you are having a good time. I've been working out with Le since she opened her studio. She is an amazing instructor. The studio is beautiful and the atmosphere is fun and low key. I have never been a fan of working out and have never found a workout in the city I could commit to more than once a week. I find myself looking forward to my Monday morning workouts with Le and I can't say that about any of the dozens of other classes I've tried. This was my first reformer pilates class, so I had no idea what to expect, but I can't imagine it going any better. Le was so great -- she was patient, helpful, and FUNNY! This is a smaller studio, so the attention to detail and instructor to student ratio is great! It was a very encouraging environment, too, which was helpful since, like I said, I was a total newbie. As for the workout, I learned what the Pilates Shakes were. Every muscle in my body was worked, and that was evident by just how much I felt it the next day. I am so happy I found a studio where I feel confident in the teachers knowledge in the practice of pilates as well as how the body operates. She was able to give individualized attention to everyone without sacrificing the tempo of the class, adjusting weights and helping on the hard-to-do moves, and it really helped. Best in the city! I have never left The 100s without feeling stronger, healthier and better about myself. I've taken Pilates classes in other New York Pilates studios and felt like just another customer. To the extent I haven't felt like I did any exercise.
