When I made reservations for a 5 night stay, I requested a room facing northwest, which had a sliding door and two outside chairs for our use, we had the use of this room previously and I asked the girl on the telephone to double check that she was in fact reserving the same room. You've guessed it, They got it WRONG ....it's Friday night when we arrive with a full house, but front desk promised to relocate us on Sunday when most of the guests would be checking out. Did they remember or honor their promise, NO!!!!! Had further talks with 3 different people at the front desk, including the original booking clerk (she actually remembered our conversation from 5 weeks ago, full marks for that!!) now with hope in my heart at finally finding a competent person with intact short term memory who would take ownership for her gaff and rescue her credibility by relocating us, alas NO, Hopeless!!! She and the rest of them just couldn't care less about hospitality, customer service or doing the right thing by people. There is no management, pride of ownership or sense of mission in this place. The halls are filthy, the stains remain the same as last time, like old friends just aging grimely. Chemicals are sprayed liberally by housekeeping to mask the odor of the place so I promise your allergies will act up even in this lovely fresh climate. Now for the piece de resistance, the restaurant, prime real-estate, with fabulous views and sub prime food!!!! We ate dinner two nights in succession and felt quesy both evenings. as a badge of honor the waitress stated that their butter is not real butter!!!! OMG any wonder we felt sick from faux institutionalized greasy food !!!my husband wants to try their hot cakes...perhaps we should bring our own butter!! They have a captive audience, we were too tired to go elsewhere to dine, best to get a snack from the vending machine!!!!! Only positive is they haven't converted to the 'no gluten' craze raging like wildfire in these parts. read more

This place was absolutely fantastic. The staff was friendly, the food was out of this world, and the deal cannot be beat! Ocean front, surrounded by beautiful nature!! We saw whales, seals AND dolphins. Our daughter loved the pool- there was a heated baby pool perfect for her (she is 20 months old.) The house keepers were so nice. They even had laundry services for only 2 dollars. I could go on and on. Loved every minute of our stay! Would definitely return- wish Boston wasn't so far away! Thanks again! read more

The three horrible spotlights they installed shine over the ocean, making it so unpleasant. We come here to see the moon and stars, but now we have bright lights in our eyes and the stars are harder to see. Is that even legal? It was so much nicer before the lights. My boyfriend and I have stayed here in the same room twice now. AMAZING hotel!!! The room is very nice and as you sleep in the amazing comfortable bed you can listen to the sound of the ocean and from our room on the second floor you open your eyes and can see the waves crashing on the rocks. Paid $$$ for the hot-tub suite overlooking the OCEAN! Ha Ha. Paid extra to overlook the neighborhood! Very disappointed! Blinds on one window did not go down so we had NO PRIVACY for the evening. When I spoke to the desk clerk, her reply was, "thank you for telling me and you are free to go!" Mmmm... free - NOT coming back NO!!! Gave it 3 stars because the room was AMAZING - spacious, well decorated and VERY CLEAN. I expected to get an ocean view because that IS WHAT THE ROOM STATED I WAS GETTING. False advertising! This place would hardly be classified as a resort of any type. Perhaps it would have been in the 70's. It does have a pool and on-site restaurant. We stayed in one of the pet friendly rooms with our dog. The room was very large and had a nice view of the ocean, but it smelled like urine with a very strong cleaning agent odor. We had to keep the sliding glass door open almost all night to get rid of most of the cleaning agent odor. The urine smell never went away. They clearly don't know how to properly clean carpets that have had pet accidents. Since we had to pay extra for our dog, which was completely expected, it is likewise equally expected and reasonable that the property owners adequately clean the carpets and use a cleaning agent that doesn't smell horrible. Or pull the carpets up and just put throw rugs down that can be laundered. The towels are thin and rough and the sheets felt like they were at least 10 years old (soft and thin!). Given the reviews of the non-pet rooms, they must take the towels and sheets that they don't want in the "better" rooms and use them in the pet-friendly rooms! Hardly the way to treat guests who pay the same rate plus extra for their pet. read more

The view, yes. But old and funky, lots of noise from upper floors if you're downstairs, LOTS of walking traffic outside your room if you get a deck/patio room to watch the waves, and young wedding parties can absolutely terrorize the place late into the night any given weekend- they're not shy about feeling entitled to run the joint ragged, either. Very fun if you're at the wedding and up for it. But if you're trying for an intimate getaway, be aware that you might have it ruined if you don't burn the midnight oil yourself. Quieter options for calmer couples up and down the coast. Don't waste your money. read more

The staff was nice and helpful. Our room was on the parking lot side as opposed to the sea view side so it was a better price. We were on the second floor above the pool as we requested. Our room was nice and clean, the leather couch smelled a little like old urine, but we inserted a car deodorizer and that fixed the problem. We used the pool and the hot tub and the sauna, they were clean, and the fellow guests were nice. Christmas eve they hung a plate of fudge, cookies and candy on our door and we thought that was very considerate. Our room was over the pool but also over the workout room, with the weights and the treadmills, and unfortunately a stereo system and a TV that can be cranked up to ear splitting levels. Both days we were there someone used the fitness room 2 hours before it's posted opening time with the music blaring through our floor waking us up. We stomped on the floor the first morning the second morning we called down to the desk. After about 7 minutes the music stopped. If only it was 2015 and we had ear bud technology that allowed people to listen to loud terrible music without making enough noise to wake the dead. The lady at the desk said they tried to call the phone in the fitness room but it could not be heard, so they sent the maintenance guy down to take care of it. The door to the fitness room can only be opened with the electronic key card. One would think that it could be programed to work only during the times it is supposed to be open. I'm just saying. Over all it is an nice place and if you play your cards right about the sea view, not terribly expensive. read more

I can't speak to the quality of actually staying at this resort, but to those that do, God forbid you should lose or forget anything-- I'd like to preface this review with the fact that I work in a customer service at a popular venue that (depending on the season) can cater to literally thousands a day; and I was left feeling very frustrated at how difficult it was to have an item of mine returned to me after forgetting it at a company party that took place recently. I understand that it was initially my fault for having left the item behind -- that's all on me. Upon realizing that it was missing, I called the night of and identified the item over the phone, and they confirmed that they did in fact have it so they attached my name to it. I asked if I should come and get it (hoping that they would offer to have it mailed to me -- a service which the facility I work for offers, so I didn't think it would be unreasonable request, especially for a HOTEL...) to which the employee replied in a subtly sarcastic tone, "Yeah... that would be best." Alright, whatever-- So, we drive down to Yachats, which is an hour round-trip from where I am. However, when we got there, we were informed that while they had the item, they did not know where it was (because it was not placed in the safe as it should have been). They took down our name and phone number, and when I asked if they could have it shipped to us (because working full time and going to school full time, I did not want to take the time to make yet another hour long trip to get my item which they TOLD ME they had) the employee behind the counter just said that it was 'out of her hands' and that I would have to speak to the manager who would not be available until tomorrow afternoon. Great-- So, we drive back to Newport, and shortly after returning home, I receive a phone call from the hotel saying that they had found it in someone's office, with a note on top of it... The next day, I received a phone call from the manager, and the first thing they asked was when I wanted to come and pick the item up. Again, I asked if they could ship it, after explaining that I had already made the effort to come up and receive it. The manager curtly informed me that we would have to come identify it in person (despite having already having done so via phone), and that to ship it, they would need our credit card information to charge us for the shipping, and they they were not responsible for any damages that it incurred during shipping. Eventually, we convinced them to ship it to us, and of course, we were charged for the shipping; which wasn't a large amount, though it felt insulting after having wasted both time and gas on what should have otherwise been a simple exchange. Having said that, I would have been perfectly content with being charged for the shipping had I not already made the effort to pick up my item --after being told that it was there--. Again, I can't speak to the quality of visiting this resort, but I was not impressed by the apathetic customer service we received. read more

A weekend trip to Newport Or. left us craving some fine seafood dining. We seen a full page ad in the local Newspaper for the Adobe Resort Motel and Restaurant with their entire menu. The Appetizers immediately got my attention.-Fresh Oysters, Escargot, Crab meat Cocktail, Steamed Clams, Baked Artichoke and Spinach, etc.. It was a mouth watering read. I called the resort and made reservations. When we arrived we were greeted with a Thank you for choosing their restaurant to dine for the evening. The restaurant had an adobe circular building. Nice place to look at, with the ceiling beams exposed and the ocean view. Nothing flashy, but very tastefully simple. The rocks at the shore were lava looking and we seen people walking along them and the beach while we ate. The service was low key and personal. Just perfect. The restaurant had a very quite intimate feel. As if we were the only table in the room. (All of the Ocean view tables were full). It is a very romantic setting. The dinner exceeded our expectations, we ordered the salad bar, shrimp Bisque (so yummy) a bottle of Copper creek wine, Escargot Au Duxelle, Steamed Clams garlic Bread, The Adobe Baked Crab Pot (so filling!) After dinner we made our way to the beach with our patiently waiting dogs. They had no idea that we had full stomach's and had a couple of delicious glasses of wine while they faithfully waited for us to take them to the beach for the second time that day. We were soon walking along the rocks looking at all of the mussels attached to the rocks and sea life in the small pools of water left behind the tide. It was the most beautiful day and the temperature was even warm along the beach. The dogs played in the water while we watched the sunset. When I try to book a room online my card is always refused. There's nothing wrong with my card. I call the number for the reservation desk, they offer me a room at a higher price, but cannot do anything about the room offered at a lower price (same type of accommodation). This happened the last time I tried to reserve a room online. I think this is dishonest. read more

My husband booked the room for our 25th Anniversary. The memory foam king size bed was comfortable and afforded views from the 3rd floor suite right onto the ocean. It was awesome. The only complaint is the jacuzzi was very small - tub size. But the bath salts and towels in the shapes of swans was a nice touch. Very quiet, private and a huge deck to sit and have morning coffee looking out over the ocean!! Will definitely visit again!! read more

Beautiful ocean views from our room. If you are into rock hunting, the beach outside has small agates and pretty small rocks. The hotel is dated but our room has the most beautiful ocean views that made up for the dated decor. read more

Spent the night here with my dog. Plus side: rooms have ocean views (some better than others). The lounge has a great view of the ocean. They gave my dog a biscuit upon check in. Rooms are spacious. Now the not so good: The building they put you in with animals is gross. The smell is awful. From the moment I walked in the room I couldn't wait to leave. I would have kept the sliding glass door open all night to help with the smell but I didn't feel comfortable (I never do with a first floor room). So it was between a rank smell in the room or feeling safe. Not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in but right up there in the top 5. Rooms had an ocean view, but it looked like "animal/human" rooms have a view off to the side. The sound from the room above me was like earthquakes all night long. Someone described it as a sub-par Motel 6, which is accurate. It's WAY too expensive for what it is. If it's between sleeping in your car or sleeping here, this is the better choice because there is a toilet and a shower. Was going to stay for breakfast, but just wanted to leave. This is such a cute town and bummer that they call themselves a "resort". read more

The Adobe was the perfect venue for our small wedding. Kathleen W. is awesome and was a HUGE help with coordinating details and planning. I'm very grateful for all her effort! Our ceremony was unique and stunning against the backdrop of the rocky ocean bluff. The Grand Suite and Luxury Suite were comfortable and spacious, and our buffet dinner was fantastic! We were even able to see whales from the shore. This venue definitely contributed to the wedding being an amazing success. read more

Great price, Great Lounge, Fantastic views. An absolute must stay!! Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly lady ( it's been a while, so I forgot her name) who checked us in. We asked about the restaurant and she said it would be advisable to make a reservation. (We did so immediately). When we got into our room, it was humongous! We had a great view of the ocean. A huge TV. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. They have a Gym, pool and hottub. (We didn't use any of them, but they are available.) Our visit to the Lounge was the best. Vera, Goddess of all men, they just don't know it yet!, is an absolute Gem! She has an amazing attitude, is very professional, funny and entertaining. Sorry to say, she was better than the live music they had going on. (This I wrote into my checkbook as to not forget) The food was great. We watched the sunset drinking a fantastic bottle of Gordon Brothers Merlot, 2006. It was sublime. ( I tried to get a few bottles online with Gordon Brothers, but they didn't have any of the 2006 left.) I was bummed! The Adobe Resort is very kid and pet friendly. The staff is courteous, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. read more

We vacationed at The Adobe, and had an absolutely wonderful time. The restaurant has delicious dishes, and their clam chowder is as good as mine. Their gift shop has many beautiful items to select from, and the prices are in line with other gift shops in the area. We had a beautiful view of the ocean with an electric fireplace - fantastic! This was a wonderful place to stay and we plan to make this a frequent stop on our coastal treks. The front desk ladies were very accommodating (especially Eileen) and personable. The ocean view is spectacular against the rocky shore and includes a trail just beyond the manicured lawn that leads into the village of Yachats - an easy stroll away. We stayed in room 292 without a balcony and liked it so much we opted for an additional night in #158 (ground level) which opened out onto a little porch overlooking the Pacific. Both rooms were very comfortable, with a gas fireplace and were quiet and spotlessly clean. The overall ambiance was relaxed and personable. This is not a glamorous, glitzy place but neither is the price! It is a lovely place for families and folks to come and unwind and enjoy a slower pace and soak in the ocean views. read more

This is an older hotel that needs some updating but overall is a great hotel. We had a pet room. They have one wing dedicated to pet rooms. It's an add on that looks like an after-thought which made us leery. There is no elevator on this wing which was a royal pain to lug suitcases up and down. However the room was great. It was clean and smelled good, not like old stinky dogs. Furniture was all comfy and in good condition. Our room was huge. We had a king bed and rollaway bed with plenty of space left to move around. The pet rooms are the only rooms with balconies (both 1st and 2nd floors have them). Great views of ocean and slept with sliding glass door open all night listening to waves crashing. The pool, spa and sauna area was great, huge pool. Large grassy area and little beach to walk dogs on. Dogs not welcome in any other hotel areas. Wifi is iffy but that whole area seems to have connection issues. Called front desk a couple times for some requests and they were super fast delivering things like extra towels and the rollaway bed. Staff friendly but room not ready at check in time, about 30 minutes late. Ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was ok but service slow as snails. They were under staffed... Poor waitress way overloaded. Overall, we wished we would have been here more than one night. This is a cute town and lots to explore around here. Would return in a heartbeat. read more
