Service was efficient - much appreciated, since the small size and popularity of the place could lead to large backups of not for the organized service. I ordered the Clong, which was a very generous turkey sandwich with provolone cheese, lettuce, pickled shallot, tomato spread with herbed mayo. Ended up taking half the sandwich home. Should have known when we got the pastry before our sandwich. Both were great, though. Shared a Traverse City cherry iced tea - very nice. The co-diner got the MLT, which was a mushroom, lettuce and tomato sandwich with ramp mayo: he found it quite enjoyable. Menu is not extensive, but all items are well thought out and on the unusual side. Tall Trees Cafe is well worth a visit for those in the Ferndale area.

Had two sandwiches- spicy mortadella and a sandwich with ham and blue cheese spread. Sorry, don't remember the name. It was quite decadent. We only ate half of our sandwiches. We had also the big bean salad and the feta garlic dip. Amazing! Leftovers for snaking later... We will definitely be back!

BEWARE! YOU MAY BE ASSAULTED HERE!! I WAS ASSAULTED BY A FEMALE EMPLOYEE (dressed in all black in…read morephotos below) AS I ENTERED THE ESTABLISHMENT HALLOWEEN OCTOBER 31st, 2025 (I have pictures and videos, as well). The video surveillance should have also captured the moment I was bear hugged, dragged through a dark hallway, and eventually thrown into a white sign outside. I received bruises and luckily nothing major happened like landing wrong on my head and getting a concussion and possible death (should I have had a bad landing after being tossed by this lady). As she grabbed me and before she threw me to the ground I pled with her that she did not need to do this, but she was very angry (probably because she was working on Halloween and saw me with 3 beautiful girls and she couldn't handle how well the costume looked on me - just speculating here.) I went to this place on Halloween 2025, by the time I was assaulted it was November 1st, 2025 because it was past midnight. I was with 3 other girls (I am a male). We waited in line to get in. I was dressed up as Spider-Man and the girl I was with was Catwoman. I am of Western European descent and maybe that was the issue, I was racially profiled by the woman hostess/bouncer because she was letting in the rest of the people except me and my crew. I proceeded to take my phone out and record her after the assault and take pictures of her so I could later report her. On top of that, there were gunshots nearby so I decided to uber home and report this later instead of right away with the owner. I am going to follow up with this place to make sure we can come to some understanding that assaulting customers is not ok and I will continue to spread the word about my experience if I am not adequately satisfied with their resolution (if there is one). Again, this place is bad news and you should stay away. I am willing to change this review if an apology and some sort of incentive is offered.

All were phenomenal but there are still plenty more on the menu I will be back to try. There is a simple but charmingly quaint indoor dining room and a few tables outside, as well. I ventured out within a couple of hours of viewing to experience Le crepe on Washington Avenue in downtown Royal Oak. I was greeted upon entering while my 2-high top table was arranged. The ambiance and vibe in this small space was extremely relaxing and the staff friendly. Tiekeya, the owner, was helpful when I explained that it was my first time. My server was her niece, a young lady with a tremendous smile who shared she was a student at MSU as I was wearing a pullover displaying her Alma mater that I know well from paying so much tuition over several years for my children. I started with an enjoyable vanilla cappuccino which was prepared to my liking. I did not feel rushed at all, but the service was attentive and consistent throughout my dining experience. The restaurant was quite popular on this morning and I heard others mentioning the segment on the news. It was funny, as I was texting a couple of friends (foodies) from work who were very curious to hear about my experience. I was sharing quickly upon sitting down as this was a nice treat. I reviewed the menu which had several unique choices and I decided to order The Green Goat which was a crepe containing pan-seared chicken, bacon, Granny Smith apples, and caramelized onions with goat cheese and a little arugula. The combination of flavors was delicious in every aspect! Wow! As wonderful as my main course was, the sweet crepe favorites were even tastier. I chose the Cinnamon Sweet Cheese with bananas which included a crepe containing the bananas and a house cinnamon cream cheese icing that was fantastic! Thanks again to Fox 2 News as I will gladly make the 24 minute drive to enjoy this experience again. I also was thrilled to meet Chef Dennis in the kitchen who I had seen on the news. Do enjoy if you venture out and there is free parking for the first two hours in the nearby garage. Le Crepe was so good that I returned the next day and enjoyed a wonderful local brewed enjoyable coffee while I waited for a table. On day #2, I was really struggling to decide which crepe to try from so many descriptive choices on the menu. I chose the James Dean which was also fantastic once again. It was a delicious combination of flavors of scrambled eggs, a slightly spicy homemade sausage that was a perfect complement, and red skin potatoes with a cherry sauce drizzle. Tiekeya assured me that I can try one of the others when I come back on Tuesday . It is wonderful to meet such a kind business owner and it was refreshing to experience the staff interaction and she shared that I have now become one of her "regulars". I can't wait to come back and introduce family and friends to this amazing menu of tasty treats.

They text you to confirm the day before. When I entered I was greeted right away! My wait time for a table wasn't long. The waitress acknowledged us when were seated and seemed happy to be there to serve us. My food came out in reasonable time and the portion was just right. I cleaned the plate and didn't feel hungry or overly full. My guest was happy with their experience as well. Whoever trained the staff did a excellent job. The manager handled a situation with a group who had an issue with seating arrangements for a large party very well. When I asked for water I got it right away, when I asked where the restroom was, she walked me to it, when I complained of no paper towel in the bathroom, they immediately got some. Customer service is definitely a priority. I never felt like I was waiting around for an excessive amount of time for something. My food was simply excellent from the presentation to the way it tasted. I loved it! The new location is much bigger than the last. The decor, the staff, the food was all so nice!
