Had lunch here while visiting family. The food was tasty - we ordered the BLT, the fish and chips and the brown sugar pesto chicken. I feel like the chicken could have been a little thicker, but the brown sugar bacon was fabulous and such an interesting combo with the pesto. The food is great. The garlic fries have lots of garlic that sticks to the fries instead of all falling off in the fries are crispy. I ordered a patty melt, which is delicious with a nice big chunks of onion and mushrooms and my husband ordered the dump. Basically anything you can think of that goes on a burger goes on this.. Saw the good reviews, thought I would try it. The young lady that took our order was very nice and helpful. Our order came out right away. The food was ok, saw all the write ups about the great food, maybe they had and off night. My Ruben was ok, the fries, on the other hand we're not very good. They should have left them in the fryer longer. The other part that was bad, the whole place needs a strong cleaning. Everything was dirty, from the restroom to the dining area. read more

This is no longer the place when it was run by others. The owners are indifferent and borderline rude.... more importantly, the food is gross. The hamburger was hard, and dry...clearly old and microwaved. The bread is stale and falls apart. So not what it was about a year ago. If you want the taste of what it was, visit the Alley Grill in Lakeport. Run by the other management. The ukiah Alley will not be around in a year if they don't get their act together. read more

We were so happy they were open on New Year's Day. We needed a quick dinner and we ordered the hamburger with pastrami in it with a side of fries it was so good! The young guy that answered the phone was very friendly and helpful we took it to go so we didn't sit at the restaurant. We will definitely try something new next time. read more

We stopped here on our way from Santa Rosa to Eureka while on a business trip. The man working the front counter was as nice as can be! Very friendly and attentive. I had the Grilled Cheese Deluxe sandwich with Tri Tip and it was absolutely delicious! The pineapple chutney on the side was perfect for dipping. I highly, highly recommend! Wow! We were super impressed with the food and service. I ordered the Dumpster burger and could only eat half, but that's fine I had it for lunch the next day. My husband loved the Western Burger. The buns are made from scratch and excellent. Surprisingly, the salad bar was as good as the burgers. Fresh fresh fresh and a home made oil/vinegar dressing with herbs that was out of this world. I came here based on a friend's recommendation. I was not disappointed at all. I had an Alley burger with bacon added, and it was bomb! Great char-broiled flavor and a basket of fries. If you crave a tasty dog this is the place to go they have wonderful 100% beef hot dogs never mind that they put lettuce on it..( u dont HAVE to have lettuce but it doesn't bother me). I am originally from Chicago and I miss my "dragged thru the Garden " Chicago Dog everyday of my life, but my first time coming into The Alley Grill I was totally satisfied. I really like it when I am able to write something good about one of our local merchants! Today my wife Vickie and I had just finished an errand in Ukiah and decided to grab something to eat. We always enjoy the Alley Grill on Airport Park Blvd for their hotdogs and sandwiches so we headed there. I remembered reading an article in the Daily Journal that listed on of their burgers as the best in the county. That being said we both ordered burgers... Vickie got the Bison Burger and I ordered their Alley Burger (with a slice of pastrami on top.) OMG!!! While I can't say it's the best in the county (yet) I can say it's the best burger I've had in a very long time. Both were cooked perfectly, hers medium well and mine medium rare, and served in ciabatta rolls. The pastrami made mine like a kicked up bacon burger. Neither of us practiced safe burger and went ahead without using condiments.... none were needed! Add all this to the nicest staff in Ukiah and it's a great meal! read more

My niece brought me to the Alley Grill a couple weeks ago and I had the Alley Burger. Super tasty! The bun kinda threw me off, but it ended up being better than I expected. Today, I brought my valentines date for lunch and I got the Dumpster Burger. He got the Dumpster Chicken. Both were incredible! The only thing that bothers me is the spelling mistakes on the handwritten menu on the wall, but that's not an issue with the restaurant. I just get extra bothered by spelling errors and that's a personal issue. The food is great, the service is great, and this is definitely a new regular spot for me!! read more

The handmade rolls are perfect size and flavor for these great cheeseburgers. I had the guacamole cheeseburger and substituted the cheddar cheese for pepper Jack cheese. Did not add any mustard or ketchup and it was delicious! My wife is a very picky eater and ordered their Alley cheeseburger well done. Wife said it was the best cheeseburger she has had and loved their handmade roll. Daughter loved the Alley cheeseburger as well and would not allow me to finish her leftovers. read more
