Went with a friend for the first time on one of the hottest days. Wanted an earl grey with milk and the guy behind the counter suggested the Royal No.9 Milk Tea, which was smooth, sweet and delicious even with less sugar. Ordered a small with tapioca that came with blueberries too and hit the spot. I'm not a fan of powdered/syrup based bubble teas but this was good. My friend had the Assam Black Tea with milk and said it was very good also. I'm learning as I type that they have a rewards system in place but I didn't know that initially. Would have been great had someone mentioned this or it was better advertised or maybe I just missed the sign?! All good. The only photo proof I have is of an empty cup. That'll do, I guess.
I ordered a large royal no 9 hot. I waited and they handed me a regular size drink. When i inquired about the large, the staff stated that they didn't carry the large hot cups but they could remake a cold one in a large size for an extra charge even though they already charged me for a large one. The moral is don't order a large hot drink here. It's a lie.
Came here bc a friend recommended it to me. I got the Royal No 9 milk tea with pearls as I like the flavour of blueberries. Service was super quick as there weren't many people probably due to Covid. Dine in wasn't an option so I quickly grabbed my drink and left. The interior is decorated really nicely and would be nice to chat with friends with once things go back to normal. The milk tea itself was decent, but I was definitely disappointed. Perhaps my personal preference, but I found it a bit watered down since I like strong flavours in food when I eat out. The blueberry flavour was clearly there and was fantastic, but the drink as a whole didn't pack enough punch. I did appreciate that while I got it at the regular level of sweetness, the drink was not that sweet and nicely fragrant, so it felt lighter and was a good treat after a meal. People who like drinks that are not overpowering might like this a lot. I've seen mentions of freshly made tapioca from other reviews. I found the tapioca nice and chewy but not noticeably different from other bubble tea shops I've tried. All in all, an okay experience, but I would definitely try something else if I swing by next time.
I have been meaning to visit The Alley for quite some time. In Markham, at a plaza that I frequent often, there's a CoCo and The Alley. I tend to go to the former that I never get the chance to visit the latter. I simply love CoCo. After a late lunch with three friends, we all felt like bubble tea. One of them suggested that we go to this location. I drive too fast. I even took the slowest route to get here. I still got here earlier than everyone else. It's the lead foot. This The Alley is located in a plaza with Timmy Hortons and more. Parking does get a bit crazy on a Saturday afternoon, but I managed to get a decent spot and backed into it. I walked in and found a free table for us. As usual, I plopped myself down. Moments later, two of them had arrived. We sat there for a bit, waiting for our friend to arrive. She did. She took a wrong turn. I don't blame her, as she and I aren't residents of Mississauga. We did and do work here, respectively. We all went to order. I got the deerioca matcha with soy. It was $6. What I already didn't like was not being able to customize the sugar or even ice. Ugh! The woman taking my order was nice. I paid with a debit card. All was well. I headed back to our table to wait. The wait was rather long, but it helps to have company to talk to. I'd say about fifteen minutes later, my drink was ready. I went over to get it and was excited to try it out. It tasted fine. It was a bit sweet for my liking, though. I also found the cup small. I went through it quickly. I believe it was a medium, but it didn't come in a large, which would have been perfect. The tapioca was warm, which I wasn't expecting. I liked it. It was chewy. It is pretty inside. It's perfect for taking photos and casually chatting with friends. Was my drink worth $6? Not really. Maybe I need to try a different drink, but it didn't wow me. It was okay. I'm more of a CoCo person, with Chatime coming in second these days. I'd come back to The Alley when I'm in the neighbourhood, but it won't be my first choice for bubble tea. (101)

I came back a few days ago to try the tiramisu crunch, but unfortunately they were out of stock so I ended up getting the deerioca puff which is one of my all time favourites. Some others which I would recommend are of course the royal no.9 and the early grey milk tea... so good!! I would highly suggest downloading their app, through which you can place your order ahead of time and just pick it up when you arrive. This is super helpful during COVID, as it helps you avoid waiting in line. (I came on a Friday night and due to the 8-person limit, there was a pretty decent sized lineup outside). TIP: if you are using the app, make sure to preload your account before selecting your order. If your $ balance is too low, you'll have to exit the order screen, load up your account, and re-do your order again which could be annoying. When picking up your order, just go straight to the counter and they'll have it ready. You'll just need to show the staff your order number. They also follow all the health and safety precautions inside which is great. Can't wait to come back and try the tiramisu crunch!
The Alleys in New York are nothing compared to the ones in Canada, so every time I come I need to get my fix. I was only here for a weekend and came two days in a row. The morning that I had to leave, the first store I was at didn't open until about 30 min later, so I went to a second one. I was literally standing at the door at 12 pm on the dot staring inside like Slenderman omg. Yes, it's that serious. It's like Black Friday - not afraid to get physical either!!! I've never had anything like the Milky Beer - and it's really hard to describe the taste of it (so much for a food review). The name is a bit ambiguous in terms of which component of a beer it would consist of. But hey, life is a gamble. First off, it's non-alcoholic, and it's not bubbly. However, the distinct flavor of beer is ever so slightly present in the milk tea and that makes it really interesting. The snow velvet on top is also a nice touch - making it look like the foam on top of a beer. 10/10 The Royal No.9 Milk Tea is brewed with blueberry black tea. The blueberry taste gave me flashbacks to the old days. Think Anton Ego in Ratatouille when that pepperoni-looking dish quite literally transported him back to his childhood. Except for me, in this case, it was the Meiji Gummy Choco tube candy that anyone with even a little knowledge of ~Asian culture~ would know of. The grass jelly was also *chef's kiss* 10/10 Looking forward to smuggling these babies across the border again sometime very soon ;)
Very happy that the alley opened in Mississauga! The space is pretty big, few seats avail but it's not cramped when you wait for a drink. Soft opening right now and 10% off your order. Came during their soft opening. After the Grand Opening this long weekend you can start using the app to collect your rewards at this location. If you haven't been to the Alley - most of their locations in Toronto are quite small. This location is quite spacious. I first noticed the large tables. It's good for a large group but what about smaller groups? Maybe they can sit together? I feel they could've maximized the space. I came here around 4pm (an hour after they opened) on a weekday. It wasn't as busy and I was able to make my order within minutes. I had my nephew with me and he only wanted mango when I told him we were going for bubble tea. The alley does not have many fruity tea like you may find at other BBT shops. The closest I could get to mango was the morning dawn. Now this takes at least 10 minutes to make and comes in a bottle so you can shake the drink. Thank goodness my nephew loves it and it wasn't too sweet either. I always get the Royal No.9. This time I was caught off guard, because I can barely taste the hint of blueberry. This is what the drink is known for. I was disappointed. I had also ordered the deerioca puff to make up for it. It was perfect with 50% sugar and less ice. Their tapioca is special in this one, because it is freshly made then slow cooked in brown sugar for 2 hours YUM! That custard puff is my fav! I can put that into every milk tea. If you are lactose intolerant you can order this drink with soy milk.
Finally Alley is in Mississauga!! In the past 2 weeks, I have made a number of visits to Alley including the first day of opening which was their soft opening. During soft opening they offered 10% off and was on limited hours (3pm to 9pm). So on the first day, I came with a friend and we arrived at about 8pm. Surprisingly there was not a long line up and it was busy with a steady flow. We got our drinks in a timely manner although there was a miscommunication with both of our drinks. My friend and I ordered the Royal no9 milk tea but we were given the fresh milk version. There were no questions asked and our drinks were remade. You cannot go wrong with the Royal no 9. milk tea unless you dislike blueberries. I order this drink with no sugar and it is perfect! My friend also tried this drink for the first time and she enjoyed it. The other times that I have visited before their grand opening this past weekend were good experiences. I enjoyed my drinks and the wait was not long at all. For grand opening weekend, from what I recall, they had 10 drink specials and it was all their popular items. For all the specials that they had the past 2 weeks, they did not offer points. In terms of the tea shop's location, they are located in a plaza which has sufficient parking space. The store interior has a number of seats and they have the usual tree decor that they have at the other shops. Thumbs up to the new bubble tea option in the West end!
The Alley is my favourite bubble tea chain and I've always had to go to the East end in the past two years (a bit embarrassed to admit that it's monthly visits) to get my favourite Royal #9 drink! I'm so excited that there's FINALLY a Mississauga location!!! This particular location is in central Mississauga but thankfully not at Square One or else, the lines would be even worse! The area is a bit run down but once you step inside the store, it's similar in its exposed brick and deer theme interior design to the other The Alley locations. Menu items and drink prices are the same as other locations as well. My husband and I always get the larger size if available (some only come in one size) since we tend to share and it's better in value as it's usually about 50 cents more from the regular size. I went during the soft opening weekend almost 3 weeks ago when they had their 10% off deal and they were already getting busy. I waited a few minutes in line with my two friends to place our orders and the wait time was a bit over 5 minutes during that visit. Fast forward to my recent visit this past weekend and the line ups were more like 15 minutes long with another 10 minutes or so wait time for my drink. Yup, word has spread! That Royal #9 is worth the wait though! Staff were also trying to work as efficiently as they could considering the long line ups. If I had to pick a con, the wait times would be it but honestly, I don't know any bubble tea place that doesn't have wait times. I've tried the Royal #9, Earl Grey latte and Uji Matcha latte drinks (all cold) from this location. The drinks were done well. The Royal #9 (blueberry infused milk tea for those that haven't tried) and Earl Grey latte are comparable in flavour to how to the other locations make it, which is great! I tried the Uji Matcha latte for the first time last week so I can't compare how that one is supposed to taste but it was a decent drink. I liked the strong matcha flavour with the pudding - better in flavour than the Matcha Deerioca in my opinion which tastes more like milk with a dash of matcha flavour. That being said, I don't know that I'd get this particular drink again (worth trying once) since Royal #9 has been my favourite from day 1 of trying The Alley's drinks. Anyways, for a huge The Alley fan like me, this location is worth visiting if you live in or close to this side of the GTA. If you haven't gone yet, I definitely recommend giving this place a try - probably won't be your last visit either!
The Alley offers pricey bubble tea for those who want Instagram-worthy pictures. The menu is quite small for the typical bubble tea place. Here, milk teas almost fill up the entire menu so if you're looking for fruit teas or smoothies, you might be disappointed. For the past several times that I've been at this location, the lines are somewhat long but it does move quite fast. What I like about The Alley is that they offer black sugar bubble tea with hand-made tapioca balls. This is a staple item in Taiwan and what's great about this drink is that they use fresh milk rather than milk powder. I've gotten the Orange Lulu and Peach Oolong. The Orange Lulu tastes amazing but I still think it's overpriced for a small drink. The Peach Oolong was OK, not something I would order again as they use tea bags. I'm not exactly sure if they're using whole leaves in the tea bag. Generally, tea bags consists of tea leaf dust which are bits and pieces that are unable to qualify as whole leaves for tea.
Finally got to check out this location in Mississauga. I have had The Alley in other locations before but the other locations seem to be much better. Perhaps this place is still new and perhaps it happened to be on a weekend afternoon, the line was long and the place was filled with people waiting for drinks! The crowd did die down after 10 minutes but about 20 minutes later, there was another long line up. The drink was good. I tried the new Snow Velvet Earl Grey Tea. Earl Grey tea topped with sweet cream. The decor is a little lacking compared to the other locations. This location doesn't feel as "homey' or as "comfortable" as the ones in Scarborough or Markham. There are two large tables and many seating areas, as well as the large square table with their fake tree. Unfortunately, the vibe isn't really there and I am not sure if I would feel comfortable catching up with a friend over BBT there. For the price of a BBT, I definitely expected more in terms of the drink and the comfort level. I am not sure if I would want to visit again.
I was here for their grand opening promotion of first 100 customer receive one free bbt. During the waiting line, the waiter came out and let us try some milk tea samples and gave out menus for us to decide before ordering. The interior is quite nice, same style as the dt location, very nice place to chat, take pics, and spend some time with your friends here. I got the trio milk tea I believe that's the name, and it was quite nice with 50% sugar and very fulfilling with all three lovely toppings in it. The regular price of a drink is quite pricy but bbt nowadays are expensive anyway, so I would say the price is average comparing to other brands. It is located at the plaza where foodie North is, so a nice dessert after dinner becomes an option in Mississauga.

Great drinks at this location of The Alley! Service takes a while depending when you go. Space is nice and clean. Free wifi and lots of parking at this plaza. There's one long table and some bar seating. read more

I got the trio milk tea I believe that's the name, and it was quite nice with 50% sugar and very fulfilling with all three lovely toppings in it. The regular price of a drink is quite pricy but bbt nowadays are expensive anyway, so I would say the price is average comparing to other brands. It is located at the plaza where foodie North is, so a nice dessert after dinner becomes an option in Mississauga. read more
Hands down the best milk tea I've ever had! I got the Trio Milk Tea and it was just heaven. Even with less sugar it was just the right amount of sweetness. The place inside was nice and clean. The staff were friendly and I was able to collect points with their app. The drinks also didn't take too long to make even though there was a bit of a line up. The only reason for the 4 stars is because their tapioca pearls were a little undercooked and tough/hard but I still enjoyed my drink overall. I will definitely revisit on my way through Toronto. I'd love to see this place open up in Ottawa. read more

I have just had unpleasant customer service in this Alley Branch. As I was interested in the newly pop-up spy family beverage, I decided to drop by the nearest Alley to my home and to get a new flavor for the Forger Family. Once entering into the shop, there is no customer ahead. These two staff did say hi to me at least 1 minute after I came into the counter. A girl came to me, and she seemed to reluctant to say Hi. "hi" finally she spoke slightly and shyly at this least rush hour. I checked with her about 2 new flavors about the beverage. And when I asked, do you have any souvenir such as stickers, she said no at first. And I asked her again, then she told me there is only one kind of the sticker. It seems that she has no idea about the product and was reluctant to a customer. I could not expect any passion on her. Finally, my beverage was done. Then she just give me the sleeve, beverage and tube and thank you still sounds too slightly that I even hardly to hear. Very disappointed and frustrated experience during a quiet afternoon when the staffs are not busy at all! read more
Unpopular opinion: it's not that great. We came by during a slow moment at the shop which is probably a rare moment. We walked in and went straight to cash. Thankfully we came the moment we did because the line extended quickly to the door shortly after. The girlfriend got the brown sugar drink with fresh milk and I got apple my eye. The drinks were whatever. I wanted another drink but I was told it would be a 15 minutes wait. That would be a no for me. I gave the cashier my girlfriend's number but for some reason she was told to register but she already has an account with Alley. I don't think the points were added to her account. Get the Alley app because you do receive a birthday drink yearly and the loyalty points will add up to free drinks in the future. read more
Had been driving around running errands after my blood donation and realized I needed to have something a little sweet. First time here. Nice trendy interior, but the floors and low light didn't make it for a bright welcoming space. Also, being barked at by the gentleman behind the counter to step outside kinda ticked me off. It's difficult to see inside from outside because of the darkness inside! Anyways. Decided on the Passionfruit Oolong Tea and it was good! Very tasty! I personally wouldn't return, but that's just me. I can see the appeal for true bubble tea enthusiasts. read more

So happy more bubble tea shops are opening up in mississauga. Tried the alley in Markham, loved it. Tried it at their new mississauga location, the bubble tea is still on point. My favourite drink is the deerioca. Hot or cold, both delicious. read more

My biggest regret was telling all my friends about this place because now it's always crowded the staff here is knowledgeable and helpful with their recommendations. The drinks are high quality and hand crafted with care (the weigh the ingredients for their drinks so you get the same thing every time). Their royal #9 and deerioca puff are a must try. The Royal # 9 is a black tea with subtle notes of blueberry for a light and fruity taste - great iced with tapioca. The deerioca puff has these magical layers of brown sugar tapioca and thei special pudding - it's like dessert in a cuHope this place stays open for LONG time. You're killing it. read more
